question..are neons rt same engine as eclipse rs but backwards.or diffrent fro rs..besides the srt swap. isthere any other easy swap..

@313stratus nothing like an eclipse. the only other swap thats easy would be a non turbo 2.4

@KingsMach1 O well thats trippy cause the R/T's have fog light holes in the bumbers no R/T embles either but ok, I'll take your word for it......only good thing about this neon is the SRT swap.

@moparpunk1 previous owner hit a guard rail, thats why the bumper is different. He also for some reason shaved all the badging off. Car was alot of fun. I loved owning it because it was a sleeper.

Hi there,

I was wondering besides changing the engine, what else needed to be changed? Did you have to change the radiaitor or transmission. I have a 2001 RT and I'm interested in putting the 2.4 trurbo as well into it, but I'm wondering about the cost. I imagine I'd change the hood as well.

i had a dohc 98 neon befor n wanted to do an srt swap but never got to n now am looking at doing it to a 97 sohc how hard id it to swap? do the motor mounts match? what computer did you use? please call or message me or something if you can help thanx alot!!! my numbers 1 717 615 2602 my name is greg

@bikerx13yo a 2.4L swap is easy. I did 1 to my sohc just recently. all the mounts match up exept the passenger side mount for this you need a converter you can get 1 at modernperformance com for about 60$. As well for a detailed swap log you can vist neons dot org they got a great swap log very detailed and theres always people who can answer questions hopefully I'll see you there.

@JORDAN1840 This was a true srt swap though. Tranny, motor, k member, the whole 9 yards. This car did not have 1gen neon motor mounts. The srt motor mounts were swap as well.

Car was super nice. I'm stupid for selling it. I should have kept it for my daily driver, but o well. It's in Germany now with a 60 trim on it :)

Located in the Toledo area. But the car is now in Germany.

The dash was somewhat an easy fit. Although as you can see in the video you had to cut the door panels to make it fit correctly.

This was my old car. The car is currently in Germany where the soilder that bought it is station. When i owned the car, that car was probably right around the 300whp area, and only weighed 2400 pounds with driver, it was stupid fast and probably could have cut a high 11 second pass in the 1/4 with slicks on. Since i sold the car i know that the new owner put a 60 Trim turbo on it and dyno over 400whp on a safe tune.

As far as the two camaro guys comments....get a life.

it depends on your taste if you want to rice it out put a body kit on but if your into performence check out crane 16 cams or a turbo its completely up to you
