  • do hd 6970 fit?

  • I bought this case a couple years ago to house my dad's computer. The airflow going into the case from the front fan is horrible. Either the stock fan is too weak, or the plastic front bezel restricts airflow too much. The hard drive got incredibly hot. Overall case cooling is also pretty poor compared to the older Cooler Master ATC-201 that I use.

  • i dident get the last part...were did u get the side with the window ?

  • now if i installed my motherboard in this case and got an after market heatsink for my cpu sometime down the road will i have to take my motherboard out of the case or is there an opening in the back were i can install it without doing all that

  • how old are u now? :)

  • im sorry those LARGE LED bulbs completely pointless, idk if you keep them there if yes i would suggest take them out they extract heat which is not what you want when you want it as cool as possible!

  • @Hanuki Everything in my system stays extremely cool. Everything in my system runs perfectly. Thanks though

  • @thefamilyk Oh fair enough ^^

  • @Hanuki they are ccfl's (cold cathode fluorescent light) as you should know fluorescents barely produce any heat, same with LED

  • @ed103194 Oh, i see never heard of that thanks for sharing man i just automatically assumed they were usual halougen bulbs and produced heat :)

  • @Hanuki i believe those are "cold" cathodes.

  • @Hanuki LED lights produce 0 heat.

  • @TheSeventhReign dude, is the front LED fan coming with the case?

  • @akshaymohan24 ..yes

  • what does the reset botton do?

    reset the whole pc?

  • @The1997marcus Yes, it fully resets the computer and makes it boot again. You will lose any unsaved data.

  • So let me get this straight.

    i need 4 14 CM fans

    and 2 12 CM fans

    and one 8 cm fan

    Thats quite extreme.

  • Thanks. The only problem I had was removing the front bezel which I never managed in the end. I managed to fit a dvd writer though by pushng out the grill from the inside with the bezel still in place. I've got another case on order so I'll try and remove the front bezel on that. Apart from that I think it's a very good case for the money.

  • dude check my cable management watch?v=R_V9U0HQdPc

  • The vid is fine , but the cable management .....

  • That cable management is so horrible, a dog could do it better!

  • are you a guy or a girl? Either way you have a fucking annoying voice.

  • do you have a micro atx motherboard?

  • the cm690 II case is SOO much better than this. Cooler master really made this case better. As you can see by this computer. the cable managment isnt so great

  • does this case fits 2 5870 cards?? if yeswill i have problems with the temperature??

  • would the gx 550 fit and what kid of hardware could a gx 550 keep at an ok temperature?

  • gj nice review

  • Comment removed

  • Just a note, if you look right in front of where the PSU sits, there's a hole leading to the back of the mainboard plate, so you can run a lot of your cabling through that hole for a neater look and better airflow. Good video tho.

  • ROFLMAO, horrible ass cable managment

  • @DXcellence718 oh yes, my words ; )

  • kinda good review really informative -5/5 ^-^

  • i have this case, and i have to say, it's one of the best midi cases i ever had. and with it's moderate price it's unbeatable.

    good review 5/5

  • Nice review.

  • ohh fuck pakistan, i bought hd 5850 BE around 36000 pkr nbow campare in dollars

  • Helen Keller could do a better job than you with wiring that case! And she's a woman!

  • somebody know if a hd 5970 can fit inside this case?!!!

  • @Lumar231 A HD5970 should be able to fit in... but i recommend HAF 922.. if u have 5970... but it has been confirmed that it can fit in a HD5870..

  • im sure. its a FULL TOWER!! =D

  • my bad its a mid tower

  • @moonshiry yea its a mid tower, not a full, it's crazy, its the biggest mid tower I have ever seen.

  • HAF 922 is the biggest mid tower.

  • after seeing your cable management, i choked myself until i passed out

  • What a n00b.

  • Wow, man. Cable management FAIL. That was probably the most disorganized interior I have ever seen in a PC chassis.

  • i have this case ... very hard to get it nice... i spent around 2 bloody hours and its still crap

  • you mean cable management? or..?

  • yeah cables, not much space between the motherboard tray and the left side panel... it has abit of turned over metal on the tray to keep it solid but it mean at its smallest point 0.6mm.... so no way to get the motherboard cable through, and the hole next to the power suply iv very small

  • im sorry but u sound like a middle aged woman...

  • Hahaha.

  • @henik9 do u agree? XD

  • Yeah he sounds like my mom.

  • wtf at all those cables.. horrible

  • Absolutely fucking horrific cable management you got there....

  • its becase hes 10 years old

  • how does that affect the performance of the computer?

  • Cluttered spider web cables (Like in this video) reduce air flow, thus causing higher temps and slightly less life out of your components. And if you were trying to be a smart ass, then fuck you.

  • absolutely horrific cable management you have there (2)

  • offense not intented, but you do have to clean up the wire management.I got one and painted the inside black and bought an extra left side panel thru cm store and cut out the side and put a clear plexiglass.....looks awesome....nice vid btw.

  • can you open the right side panel for cable management?

  • ive just ordered on today.... hope's coming this week...

  • im getting this !! :D

  • absolutely horrific cable management you have there

  • WOW just noticed how big it is once u opened it this will be awsome for my gaming rig

  • thanks for the review am ordering it now :)

  • Any suggestions on where to put case badges on this thing?

  • does the HD led even work, have the same case.

  • yeah it will fit those cards... i have a gtx 280 in it

  • will it fit a 5870?

  • I'm sure it doe's.

  • Great Cheap and i think u can do a verry good overclocking :)

  • will it fit a gtx 275?

  • Yes... my friend have this case, and he use a GTX 295

  • i just got it from newegg today and the only problem i see is that my PSU main 24 pin Mb power cable is barely long enough were as my old top mount case it was plenty long i dont know if anyone else has had similar problems

  • nice review, i'm very interested in this case and i have 2 questions for you as a user:

    1) Did you connect the stock fans fo the MB headers or used the molex adapters so they run at full speed?

    2) i'm very concerned about fan noise of the stock fans(which connects to the above question), are they too noisy to, let's say sleep in the same room?

  • 1)When I recorded that video, the case fans were directly hooked up to the PSU via Fan header to molex adapter. As of now, most of my fans are hooked up to a fan speed controller. Check out some of my newer videos to see what it looks like.

    2) At full speed, the back and side 120 mm fans are a bit noisy, but you could probably sleep through the noise (Depending on the noise of the fans of your gpu/cpu coolers) (personally I can sleep through anything lol).

  • If you have great CPU and GPU heatsinks (Like I do) running those case fans at full speed isn't really needed, which is why I bought a fan speed controller.

  • thanks for the prompt update, i'll probably hook them to the motherboard headers anyway.

Right now i have a "crappy" brand case with 1 80mm side fan and a (usually off) rear 80mm fan in my bedroom. I obviously can sleep with it and my worry is that the cm690 with those 4 fans will blow my head off with noise

  • @thefamilyk Do the fans that come with it glow?

  • will the coolermaster v8 cpu cooler fit into this?

  • I have never seen a V8 Heatsink in person but considering the size of the CM690 and the room inside, I would say yes, but don't take my word for it.

  • @KC919191 Probably Late But Yes The cooler master V8 Will Fit in this Case :D:D I have it :o

  • @KC919191 all fans fit in to this :)

  • lol....i thought more...thanks man

  • is it expensive???

  • is 80 us on amazon. newegg has it for 70

  • i have a gigabyte am3 socket MA785GT-UD3H mobo on... and this casing doesnt have the wires for the speaker pins... its a non requirement right?

  • It looks beautiful and got it for $49 w/ free shipping. I havent used it yet though because I am upgrading later. I should go for an Evga classified mobo and any Corsair 3x2gb of ram. Ill stay with the GTX 260 core 216 video cards. Money is no problem but I'll upgrade when the Core i9 comes out. Thanks and nice review of this great case.

  • where did u get it for %49??

  • having that cooling machine will really help me out

  • I have a question: my motherboard (Asus P5Q3) has three 3pin cooler supplies (one is for my vga) and one 4pins for my cpu cooler, does this mean i can only use 2 case fans? or can i install them directly to my power supply? My power supply is a cooler master M850 (850 Watt)

This case looks interesting because of it's airflow, but if i can only install two case fans while i have room for 5 or more it would be useless

  • Yes, you can install fans directly on to the power supply. You can buy adapters that converts molex (4 pin connector on PSU) to the 3 pin fan connection. Or some fans have molex only so those can easily be installed directly on to the power supply.

  • how the fuck do i remove the front panel?.. i just got it today and i cant find a way to remove it... damn... can help?

  • I actually have a video specifically on that. Look on my videos, and find "How to remove front panel on CM 690". If you can't find it, just tell me and I'll send you a PM with the direct URL. Thanks for watching!

  • yeah i manage to remove it... need a bit of brute power to do it.. took a deep breath and ripped it off...

  • very good....thx so much

  • This guy have voice like kid or woman

  • but his review help me, this case i buy yesterday

  • if u r going to say shit like this just dont fucking comment plz -_-

  • Great video review, I'm going to buy Nviddia edtion. Wish to know if thy come with extra fan, and if it's connected to motherboard or PSU.

  • Question: Is the case easy to dismantle because i wanna colour the inside black'n'blue.

  • you're sounding like Rodney aka "3dgameman", although there's no comment at the end like "this is a kickass product". hehe

  • Wow, thank you. Seriously, thats a compliment. I had no idea I even sounded anything like him lol.

  • wow naman ur VIDEO..... mARamI eXPLAnaTIoNs!

  • i have this case but its the nvidia edition

  • Hows the nVidia edition. Is it any good.

  • its that same thing but in green i do believe.

  • green and black

  • this is a good case, i wish id gone with it when i built mine

  • lol at the cable managment bit

    his is shit lol

  • It's true man, you need to clean those cables up. You could make that case look a lot more tidy.

  • i have this case i love this thing!!

  • finally ap proper review of this case. Honestly most reviews are just crap and dark and u cant se the casse properly.

Your review was excellent, great review and ou showed how to install HDDS and ODS and the fans and all that stuff.

I am getting this case in abta wee. Do u thiNK i COULD MAKE IT REALLY TIDY SINCE I WILL USE A MODULAR PSU(CORSAIR HX520W) The only cables would be the:

    processor 4pin power

    24pin mobo power,

sata power for 1hdd and OD,

sata cable for HDD and OD PCI-E cable.

  • stop do like 3DGAMEMAN

  • wtf. That's like saying stop playing tennis like Federa. Why cant the man do a good job?

  • r the 2 long leds inside r included? or they r modified there?

  • Those "long leds" are called cathodes. They are not included but they are very very cheap online, and some can even react to sound.

  • bad review, sorry but its true. Next time you review a case don't have the computer already built inside it.

  • Great review!

Just wondering, How powerful are the fans provided by coolermaster?

It's just that I purchased a Centurion 5, and the fans (more specifically, the 120mm) didn't push/pull much air. I ended up buying a Zalman F3 in place of it, and don't want too buy 3 to replace the 3 supplied if they aren't good.

  • Is there a way to turn off the LEDs on the front fan WITHOUT unplugging the whole fan?

  • you can physically cut the wire to the LED, i have done this before.

  • can you tell me the trick to opening the front panel? because i feel like im going to break it too.

  • this or antec 900? or antec 300 for a budget pc

  • If you are low on money, the 300 but between the 900 and CM690, I would say the CM690. Because of it's ease of use and screwless design. My friend does own a 900 and I have to say its a very high quality case and well built. That being said I think the CM690 is one of the best cases for the money.

  • Can i like have a liquid cooling system ... and at the back of it i have like a small fan ?

  • wtf ar u speaking there .....learn english dude..

  • hey can i have a liquid cooling system and a fan also ??

And can you tell me which set can fit a 295 gtx sli ?

  • yea it fits any 10.5 inch card.... gtx295 or 4870x2 arent a problem

  • lol screwless

  • Does anyone think a Xigmatek Dark Knight will fit in there? Other than it being limited when it comes to cable management and some other things, this is such a good value of a case. It's on sale right now at Newegg for $75 (not including shipping).

  • yes, im using an S1283 and it fis fine

  • nice review

  • wats the capacity of the hdd

  • whats the diference betwen this and the cr690 model?

  • your a pain in the butt

  • Can you send me a PM of you build stats?

Like the exact names of the componets?

Thanx for this vid, i was thinking about this case, now I have 100% decided on it. $70 at new egg.

  • will it hold intel motherboards

  • yes

  • hay i am make a pc do you thank COOLER MASTER V8 RR-UV8-XBU1-GP 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler it will fit ?

  • I'm planning on getting this case but I was wondering, should I get two more 120mm fans, or is it good with what it comes with? Oh, by the way, on newegg it's down to $70.

  • I'm on stock fan configuration right now because my CPU and GPU heatsinks are great. If you don't have great heatsinks, two more big fans would come in handy. And remember, two places on the top, and one on the bottom, will take up to 140mm fans.

  • can i install a gtx295 in that case?

  • yes you can.

  • Hell yes you can. I know because i have :D Although if you're using a 295 you'll have to put some more fans in the case cause the 295 is a bitch for heat

  • do all the cases come with these lights?

  • No the case does not, but they are very cheap online if you want to get some.

  • actually I don't need any lights there annoying.

but thres a good bundle I can buy that has that case so I asked.

  • good review.. i am getting the same case

  • can u show me how to openthe front side, it breaks!! :O and thats the last tning for my comp

  • rofl thnaks

  • Thanks for the thoughtful comment.

I'm pretty new to youtube, at least posting videos almost on a weekly basis, so don't expect me to be as good as 3dgameman or trubitar. Yes, I may have missed some things but I welcome people to ask questions. Other than what you said, I would say this review is pretty successful. I'm getting a zalman cooler soon, and I'm going to do a system rebuild. When I post that video, feel free to inspect my cable management.

  • im getting thge nvidia version its much better

  • why is it better ? isn't it the same but with green side panel

the quality the same most likely .......

unless u are a nvidia fanboy

either way cm690 is an awesome case!

  • Comment removed

  • So many mATX Mobos

  • Great review! Thanks

  • good review. very thorough..

i got this case and is havin it shipped in.

but i dont got a clear window for the side..

and i wanted blue cold cathode.. so im thinkin of placin the cathode vertically right behind the mesh for a cool look.. is that possible?

where do i place the tubes for it to look really cool(without a window..)

    thx!

  • I tried taking off the top panel and putting my lights there, but there was no room to close the top cover. I haven't tried the front though, I would think I would have the same issues though. I would just experiment and find the best place. There are a lot of holes for big fans making good places for light to seep through. Currently I have my lights going outside of my case, and behind my monitor. It looks cool.

  • are these removable and washable filters, or just meshed intakes, which reduces but does not stop dust traffic?

  • Mesh grill, and foam like dust filter. Front 120mm dust filter is easily removable. Bottom fan's filter remove I think.

  • with so many unfiltered air intakes this case is a dust trap, can you confirm this?

  • Yes this case has a lot of vents but most of them are covered with dust filters. The front and top of the case have dust filters, including the 5.25" bay covers. The PSU intake fan grill is dust filtered and there is a 140mm fan bay on the bottom that is also dust filtered. The side intake fans and the rear exhaust 120mm is not dust filtered.

  • I ordered this case, with howmany fans does it come? plz answer

  • 1X 120 MM in the front, 1X 120MM in the back and 1X 120MM on the side. All of those fans are intake except for the back fan.

  • it doesnt come in 1 color

it comes in black green as the Nvidia edtitoion

  • Indeed, but that like a special edition though! :p

  • well

for being a special edition its been out for a long time so its more like a regular case now

  • True that.

It's not as wildly spread though.

  • yeah, bc most ppl are ATI fans

    lol

    jk

i dont mind either card company
