Spot on jazcjlew and primate. the irony is, though, that they were more commercially successful (and invented a new genre while they were at it) WITHOUT Sensible. That's his karma for his 5 minutes of 'fame'. Looking forward to November...
Such great songs deserved world wide love at least a few will always know - right you are.,..first found them in a bootleg tape store in San'aa....blew me away...scabies' drumming was always there and beyond!
@jazcjlew A bit harsh but you could be right, I think they where credible with and without Capt, right up to them splitting up after the MCA years. For me, their credibility started to wane when they done the re-union shows, in the early 90's and reforming with new musicians 93-96, and eventually with Rat leaving and Monty joining. Their last album, to me, was superb, but nothing can capture the 80-82 years.
@primate1234 Do you have Sensible in that plastic bubble during the recording of Strawberries? An uploader called wattage did it, but I can't find it. It was called The Damned Strawberries 82.

Yet another great song they never did on stage back in the day. The b- side, I Believe the Impossible, is fantastic...

I remember that B side, I'm sure it went something like 'I believe in the impossible, No more Stranglers dressed in black' !!

Yeah! In recent years, they've performed songs that they never did live originally- 'under the floor again', 'alone again or' come to mind.
