And you seem to know quite less. Yes, it's CALLED sharing, however, what you're doing is stealing. It's the same thing that caused the RIAA to sue over five thousand (5,000) people who used services like LimeWire and BearShare to "share" music files back in '04. It is illegal to take music that you don't have permissions on, and allow others to just take it for their own.
I have to argue again. What Limewire does, is sell their program to people so that they can get free music. Some people get the program for free, some people buy it. But what is illegal, is that these stupid people are SELLING music and using it for copyright infringement. You are not selling it to me right? You are not using it for copyright infringement right? So then you are not part of a crime buddy. You are only giving it to people such as your friends or willing people over the internet.
And yet again, I must point out, the RIAA has sued people for GIVING OUT music for FREE over filesharing programs. If they didn't have a legal backing to it, the cases would have been thrown out instantly. By giving "free music" to people through the internet, you're breaking copyright laws in the first place. It's part of why companies are allowed to tell YouTube to take down videos. Copyright Infringement. After all, you don't make money posting things on YouTube.
And yet, this is why no one likes the RIAA. I actually don't hate you for being the "good" guy in this conversation by following the rules, but they ARE a ruthless company. I mean come on, suing a grandmother for six months after passing away?! And even a 7 year old!? Weird Al Yankovic would support me on this one. I quote:
"I have very mixed feelings about it. On one hand, Im concerned that the rampant downloading of my copyright-protected material over the Internet is severely eating into my album sales and having a decidedly adverse effect on my career. On the other hand, I can get all the Metallica songs I want for FREE! WOW!!!!!" So this means that people do it all the time, maybe even superstars themselves! I dont believe that its copyright unless you take the song in your own name or sell it for your needs.
