No way that those numbers are possible with an MP62 SC at 6.5psi, even with massive tuning (assuming stock head). Those power levels are at the 12psi+ level. Looks like you have the 4-rib setup. The only way to achieve that is if you bought the larger crank pulley overlay.
Most of these cars have about a 30hp difference between the crank and the wheels. Assuming those were crank number, then that would mean 200rwhp, still on the high side for 6.5psi on an SC. I don't doubt that those numbers can be achieved, just not with 6.5psi.
@boughtamiata FYI Dyno hp IS wheel horsepower. How can you doubt it when you have no idea what the mods are? AEM standalone and what sounds like an open exhaust makes that number seem somewhat possible.
@MyOpinionMatterss That is exactly the point. If the description has half the info, what's the point of posting the final number. Open exhaust would not help much on an SC Miata, it has been proven repeatedly. 236rwhp is typically 13-15psi on MP62 SC Miatas. No ECU is going to compensate for that much boost.
@boughtamiata Possible yes improbable as well.. if you have a custom tune your gonna get way more power than with the stock ECU piggyback methods.. Im talking on a stock 160hp rated B16 with no mods they put a DEFI tuner on it and it dynoed 158 with no mods.. Without the DEFI tuner it only put down like 128 thats a 20 HP difference on a stock car just with a good tune
@MyOpinionMatterss, there are actually 2 types of dynos: a chassis dyno that gives wheel hp and a engine dyno that gives bypassed hp

might be if they measured at the crank?

6.5 psi on a supercharger =/= 6.5 psi on a turbocharger. Two different animals.

what! how did you make that kind of power on 6.5 pounds?
hensonator 2 years ago
Yeah I dont think a turbo miata would even put down those numbers at 6.5 psi... But maybe its all in the tuning may be running a little bit lean....
