You don't say in what scale you are measuring. (mSv/h rem or whatever) and if you imply your pizza is radioactive you should have measured the surroundings first.
So,if you are in Japan, what about nuclear power plant melt down. We have been
told so many times in the United States, all major world news scources report
very bad situation for people in Japan. Dangerous levels of radiation traveling
around the world, from Fuchishima.By way of the jet stream. Read about Chenrobyl and Three Mile Island. Whats up? Look at newborns, people sudden health issues die
@harisenbon7777777 at 3 km from the reactor there are 3µSi and there japanese people live with no problem. Saw in a radioactive recon near reactor of fukushima
@calvinblinkee it's actually true, a lot of men actually have radiation there, more so than a banana's potassium count. no, it ain't natural, thank obummers carbon tax. hahaha...
also, there's startling amounts of mercury in semen. the research and results are very scary :S
I know it;s a serious situation and my heart goes out to you but this would make a great 'Nibiru' video or the non event 'Elenin' for all the 'tards in denial.....lmao
@MucusFelidae The dough is made from local tap water - right? They do grow tomatoes in Japan and (if imported) buy the canned stuff from California (right across the Pacific) The mozarella is kept in local tap water as well. You dont know what youre talking about. This is scary. Take your head out of the sand and stop watching FOX ;-)
In order to show us the nuclear radioactivity level of the pizza via-a-vis the ordinary background contamination, you should have removed the pizza from next to the geiger-counter... The reading may well be that of b.c. only...
Makes me sick to think of them eating all the cheese and fish - high absorption of radiation and 131 iodine right to the thyroid. I had a pizza in upstate NY and I am very unhappy with that choice I made still - avoid cheese IMHO! Just do what you can to protect and prolong your life, that is all we can do. There is no hiding from or stopping this unless you live like a rat in a hole somewhere. Is that a life?...
@harisenbon7777777 I live in Seattle and I've heard too many people worrying about radiations from Japan. They don't want to eat, drink tapwater or even go outside and breath the air. They're being rediculous. That's my point. That's all. As for people in Japan right now... I'd get the hell out of there.. Well maybe not if I was too old already.
If this reads 80 msvts, then you are OK. Most likely you are picking up the radiation in the plate more so then the food. Pick up the food and scan it in your hand - you will see that the numbers will most likely be lower. This is normal I think. Also, do not rely on the detector to tell you if the food or drink is safe. It is a general guide only - you need much more expensive and exact methods of detection for what you are trying to do. However, this is better the nothing. Good luck!
Yes, you are right, my mistake. However 80 and 90 microsieverts was read upstate NY on many occasions already and inside the house as well as off the plates in restaurants. WTF indeed?!...
@EdmontDantes2 Sorry, I seem to be confused about where this is. Is it Japan, or Tokyo?. As I said, even if it's 80 MICRO sieverts....er, I'll just say it again...WTF??!! I work in the nuclear industry, and there was something emitting 80micros, it would be barriered off with concommitant 'keep away' sinage, immediately! Where the hell in NY are they getting readings like that? Please tell me you've got your units out of kilter somehow...please! Seriously: something doesn't add up.
Go to any restaurant in USA and measure the plates... you will get higher readings that that. My unit was calibrated professionally when I bought it and it reads past 100 MICROs at times when I am out. Should really cook and eat in from now on I agree. I am sure in Japan it is worse with 3 reactors melted down and not contained and all the going out our way with the ocean and in the air.... This will only get worse!
@EdmontDantes2 Hello again. My friend (and I am being completely serious here)...PLEASE confirm to me, that you are receiving 100 microsieverts whilst you 'are out'. Please check it out and get back to me. In the UK, nuclear workers are allowed a MAXIMUM of 15 millisieverts, per YEAR. That is, in old money, 1.5 REMs. If you're even getting a third of 100, it will affect you within a few months or a year or so. Sorry to pester, but you've worried me.
Thank you very much for your writing and your concern! I am scared also. My geigercounter is from Berkley Nucleonics and they calibrated it for me professionally. So, I suppose what it shows is what there is. The numbers vary of course all the time, but inside our home the numbers are sometimes higher then outside, sometimes over 70 on some things 30-40 background. This is not much higher then other homes I have been in our city in Upstate NY. Perhaps its time to move?
@EdmontDantes2 Most of the radiation we receive here in the US is from our own reactors and not Fukushima. Our nuke industry along with everything else is completely sabotaged. Money money money is all that matters. Money and greed. Whatever happened on Earth, happens. Let God sort em out.. we gotta send them to Him.
@EdmontDantes2 Looks as though that's reading 0.07 micros, which would probably be about a highish background. Can't see the units on the GM device, though.

Aside form the toppings, most pizza is made using imported ingredients. Imported flour, cheese and canned tomato sauce.
