This is such a *Beautiful* song This was one of my Beautiful *Grandmothers* song... she received her wings on 12/11/11 & took her Journey back home to be in the arms of our Heavenly Father-- I will Miss u so Much Grandma...
My Grandmother sang this song to my Gramps the day he passed it was a beautiful moment in a time of sorrow. Rest In Peace my gramps we love you and promise to take care of Grandma.
This just makes my heart do a somersault. So many lesser singers use vibrato to find their tune; not Doris. Her vibrato is as tight as a drum and is there for its only valid purpose: to make our hearts flip.
@s1ndydoll Total dreamland! I came here after watching The Man Who Knew Too Much and I don't mind admitting to being in tears at the end when she sings Che Sera Sera.
@trashcanalive :D I'm in the UK & one of the channels has just screened a Doris-fest on loop. 2 doco, one of her specials... brilliant. I have a list of films to watch - Calamity Jane has always been one of my favourites, & I absolutely adore all those 50s number with Rock & co... the costume, the colour, the dialogue. Fantastic. It is very evocative of a certain time... & I don't know it just triggers childhood memories of being enraptured by the look...
j'adore cette chanson, dans ma jeunesse (soit les années 50 ?) j'ai vu un film (??) où l'on entendait cette musique mais quel film ? J'aimerai bien le retrouver mag
Many GI's set themselves on the tracks makin back home singin' or whispering this song, some in deep sorrow or in high sprit. My dad, once a soldief of Japanese Imperial Army who fought in east-western Asia, made his way back home at last in 1947 or so, when this song was heard here and there in Tokyo. All he could do then was "embrace defeat" feeling relieved, a kinda "two different inconsistent feeling". Loosing a war is something that you have been learning for these several decades.
This was the final song playing at my grandfathers funeral. I miss him so much. I still sing it and it's been 3 years. I remember my whole family started singing... This song reminds me of him...
naww thats so sweet :) dream a little dream by her is my song for my dog..who is my heart.and if she ever passed on id b playing doris at her funeral too
Don't put unrealistic expectations on your wife. My wife is just average in looks and has a pleasant singing voice, but I would never trade her in a million years for Doris Day or anyone else.
A few years ago.Parents were out for dinner. When the babysitter noticed a shadow. She called the parents but halfway through the message all the parents heard was a scream. When they rushed home all they saw was the babysitters?Body on the floor. If you dont put this on 10 other videos he will appear at 3o'clock tonight in your bed

I prefer Les Brown version and, sorry the MOST beautiful voice ever, voice of an angel is KAREN CARPENTER.

My kind of femine ideal of voice. Nobody can be beautiful enough for this voice, although she was just as beautiful as an angel.
