This was a really nice video. And I get what you mean, I used to get a bus every night at 11:15, and nobody ever got on it except me, so it was nice just sitting at the back and seeing nobody on the bus, and looking out of the windows and seeing pretty much nobody on the streets. It's funny how something so simple can seem so magical haha :)
I love this so much! In my city I'm lucky to have such a great public transportation system. What's great is that a metro station was built a few years after we moved nearby, so it's so convenient. I've always felt so free that even though I haven't learned how to drive yet, I can hop on a bus or take the metro and go anywhere I want. But, there are always those people who won't move to the back of the bus, and that I take the bus for about half an hour every morning, oh well.
@ntcssj Thank you!! And I feel the same way - I can't drive around Paris, but I can hop on a bus or the metro and get basically wherever I want to go really easily :)
Liz I'm so jealous of you being in Paris! I want to do the same sort of thing that you're doing in a year or too, I just love it there, and I love the language, culture, and people.
@Brownbirdfeather If you get the opportunity to do something like this, then you should definitely take it! I love it here too - it's such a fantastic experience! :)
This is just brilliant and beautiful. The music, the text, the video, it fits perfectly.
It reminds me of my summer in Germany where I spent quite some time on trains and U-bahns. But also of the countless bus rides to and from school I've taken in the last three and a half years, just thinking about everything and nothing. And it fills me with nostalgia because I miss Europe and I'm graduating from school.
I also love the bit about celebrities. That's so true.
@rifsberjasulta Thank you so much!!! And with the celebrity thing - I'm such a fangirl it's really bad...I have to remind myself that they're just people too, and I don't *actually* know them xD
Liz, this is such a wonderfully creative and unique video! Taking something like the Parisian transportation system and making it into something that poetic is truly a feat! Great job!
(And thanks! I was listening to it one night on the metro while thinking about this video and thought it would fit really well...plus I just really like that song :P)
I've always enjoyed travelling by train. Most travel in Brighton, where I live, is done by bus - but every so often I take a train elsewhere. You don't really have to concentrate on anything when you travel by train, so you can let your thoughts wander a bit.
I also like that this was a 'thoughts from places' without any voice-over. It kind of draws us into your interior monologue if we can hear all the sounds of your surroundings and read your thoughts silently. =)
@WikiRiffs I love traveling by train too - coming from a place where the only train takes you to New York City (which isn't a journey I travel very often), it's really quite amazing getting to travel by train, if only at least a few times a week :)
And thank you!! I kind of spazzed out when I read that, because that's exactly what I was going for - it's a thoughts from places specifically about *thoughts,* so I figured that it'd be best if you think the monologue :D
Interesting video =]. I like how you found your own place to be free and just exist in your own little world... If I had to pick what that spot would be for me it would probably be driving my car I tend to just empty my mind and just block out the world with music and think what's next for me.
Hope your enjoying Paris n stuff, congratz on writing your book too. =) Hope all is well internet stranger Liz who likes to laugh :P
