Enya is a bad singer live as much as I hate to admit it. Watch any of her live versions and compare it to this.. it's a no brainer. Her studio version is fantastic, but Hayley's live performance blows any of Enya's live performances out of the water.

Enya's record is heavily digitized and compressed, that's what she does. It's her thing and she does it skillfully, but I'm not so sure if she can do it live. Westenra's version, or Celtic Woman version for that matter are live, that makes a big difference.

I think it makes no sense whatsoever comparing Enya's and Hayley's respective versions. This is art, built on very personal feelings and means of expression. Both Enya and Hayley do their exquisite best, and it's just a matter of audience's taste to incline for one or the other. Sincerely, I love both, each one in its own way...

Hayley's intention here was never to top Enya. It's just her version. Lisa Kelley, formerly of Celtic Woman, also has a very nice version. It's a song that can be performed many times by any artist who has the proper voice to pull it off.
