  • THIS. is how it should be sung! Everyone says this is too fast but honestly I LOVE it. My choir went to Carnegie Hall a month ago and this was one of the pieces we sang and our director Dr. Lynn Gackle took it a little slower than this but speed with this song really makes it sound good! Good Job!

  • The tempo is a little fast, the bass solo was amazing, I love his tone quality. And the last chord was fantastic c:

  • The tempo was a little too fast, but that's more the conductors fault than the singers. All in all, really well done. I heard a version done by a college group and it was not as good as this.

  • Damn! Watch the tempo, Ecker! Serious pitch problems with sopranos. Men aren't as strong as they used to be...

  • man this vids old and like the only one of the choir and state finals 2010 is 2 days away

  • actuly its a relly fast song my highschool has learend 90% of this song its amazing =)

  • Waaaaaaaaaaaay to fast

  • the bases first king is sharp

  • Good rendition, but it definitely went a little speedy, lol

  • my choir kicked this ones butt it was too fast on alot of parts look up winton woods varstiy ensemble!

  • my choir of 108 sang that, psh we would have kicked this choirs butt in that song! And we were Jr. high students

  • Right.

  • they didn't make state this year! what happened...

  • douche. ↓

  • too damn fast

  • Tempo To fast , It was Nice not my fav tho

  • This was my last year and i was happy with 10th place but would have loved to have top 5 lol but who wouldnt...god it makes me miss it thanx jordan

  • Holy Shit! Tempo is much too fast! My choir is doing this and we sing at a reasonable pace. And you can understand all of our words. That whole slowing down on "to lock the lion's jaws" was aweful. But it wasn't badly sung and wasn't the choir's fault.

  • I think the tempo is perfect. It doesn't sound like its dragging. I love it. This is my favoriteeee.

  • it petty good

  • I think the first section was entirely too fast. It was good, just a little fast for my tastes.

  • I think what got you guys in the competition was the solos - with the hall that it was in, solos just didn't work out being that fast. If it was slower, the resonance would have worked out better and the solos wouldn't have been the weak point. But, it sounds really good anyway!

  • im am in RHS Choir but not that year

  • Can you say fast forward?

But this was truly excellent for any high school

    Just lovely!

  • thats right Richmond high school choir is the best

  • This is my last yr in this choir. I was here when we sang this in '07.. I wouldn't say we're the best, but this performance was definitely one of our better ones.

  • yeah a little fast but wow amazing

  • great job, but what was with the talking?

  • read the video info.

  • Over-all this is the best performance I've heard so far on this song. Lots of good urgency in the musical telling of the story.

Good job, but someone needs to tell the director that faster does not EQUATE with better!

But again, his sonorous interpretation really does tell the urgency of the Daniel story well!

    Thanks for that.

Maybe the mid section is a bit slow - it looses something musically - like almost halting too much.

But anyway - thanks for the over-all musicality -

    fgbowen

  • youuuuu dont know what youre talking about. he has taught this song a hundred times, i think he knows what he's doing.

  • a bit fast... pretty good, though!

  • I MISS CHOIR!!! That was my year!!

  • type in this songs name and then WLHS and we have a rendition 2 its not near as fast

  • Good job,

Tenors a little flat on the major third at 1:56, but other then that great performance. 4 stars

  • I just performed this peice at All New Englands Music Festival this past weekend and that is how the piece is written. It is supposed to go a little flat at the "O's"

  • IK, so did i lol, same festival. Its a major third and they sang it flat....and we were better

  • Oh, Yep, sorry, i just looked at the music and they were a little flat. I talked to Gordon the other day and he said we were good, but these guys were good too.

  • agreed.

these guys have a great sound for a reletivly small group!!

    great job

  • yeah, ten boys

  • My high school's mixed chorus performed this in, oh, 1999 or 2000. This is the first rendition I've heard since, that even comes close. I'd say it's equally good, but how could I truly recall after 8 years? Really excellent, though, and I certainly wouldn't recommend slowing the tempo or fiddling about too much with the balance of male voices to women. 1 strong male voice SHOULD be able to hold up against 3-4 female voices, and these guys sound like they did that just fine.

  • I was hoping to be in Chamber this tri, maybe I'll get in next year.

  • they didn't make state this year! what happened...

  • we had the first position, and to tell the truth we just aren't as good as we used to be...

  • waaaaaaa :( :( what did you sing

  • Daneil, Sure on this Shining Night and Song of Moses

  • Its very sad :(

we were close, I think.. but alas. I think the glorious days of Chamber choir are over..

  • Chamber is only as bad as you make it out to be, but with three basses, two guy tenors there's a big decline...

  • nice tempo, pretty good. the guy whispering distracted me though.

  • as if youre important.

  • 1:58 tenors need to have darker vowls...3 stars

  • You can clearly see me in the back row with the long hair, third guy from the right. It was probably our best song that night, but the girls outnumbered us guys 7-8 to 1. It was a rough year, but we still recieved 6th the year before this.

  • it was definitely your best song first of all, and I did notice you have only ten guys... making the ratio about 3:1 and i'm sure ecker had some girls on tenor. who are you? i'm an alum. lol

  • sadly yes, in Chamber this year there should have been three guy tenors, but one dropped Chamber leaving two guy tenors and three girls singing tenor. (I may be wrong, not in chamber) it got so bad that Ecker almost put a girl on a 1st bass part in Hark I Hear the Harps Eternal.

  • i sang this song with SOA this summer and this did not match up. sorry. The the tenor solo needed more volume too.

  • Nice sound but you need more bass

  • Yes we do, there are five in symphonic but only two sing, I'm one of the ones that sing.

  • aren't i in trouble now. i'm now singing the tenor solo. just let her fly.

  • That's RHS for ya, too bad we didn't place higher =\

  • perhaps consider groups instead of solos. it would probably serve your group better. and resonate your mmmms. i personally would slow it a little. and perhaps lower it. it just seems so high. well you pulled it off fine. good job.

let's see Ubi Caritas that good.

  • lol i love the guy who's like whispering "these guys are crazy good" throughout the whole thing.. good job!!

  • i sang the tenor solo to this song in high school...u guys were great as well

  • we're going back....chamber '08

  • We ROCK lol im gonna miss singing with these people!!! great job!!

  • exceptional!!! sensational!!!

  • the best video of this song on here!

  • hells yeah, we are totally ballin !

    <33

  • again, very nice..

    very impressive group!
