Hill was more talented offensively and was a solid rebounder and passer but Pippen was the superior defender. Jordan never won without Pippen is a shortsighted position. The Bulls had a team not just 2 players. No player has ever won by themselves. Jordan carried the Bulls from his rookie year and carried them when needed when the had a championship team. Pippen learned alot from Jordan during that time and likely would not have been the player he was without Jordan.

Hill used more moves off the dribble along with his athleticism. Pippen was mostly a hesitation 1st step penetrator. He was better comparison wise from his rookie year up until 2000(1st 6 seasons. 5 time All Star. No all star game in 99) when injuries ruined his career. Pippen took time to develop. They both could rebound and pass well. Pippen has the better career overall due to his longevity and situation(team) but had Hill not suffered injuries his place in history would be different.

Pippen had a nice right handed jump hook but rarely used it. Pippen stood out by his defense. Hill was solid but never a dominant defender. Grant Hill was not a better passer at all. Fact is the Triangle Offense stilted Pippen's stat as far as his ability to run a team because it was 1. A very controlled offense...really there is no true PG, Pippen basically just started with the ball so everyone could get into positions and 2. The Triangle offense is a slow down type of style. In 2002 at 36 he averaged 5.9apg in 32.2mpg as the blazers POINT GUARD...so younger and in a more wide open offense his assist would be much higher.

Got him a Pippen? Scottie was BETTER then Hill. Up until that 2000 season when he averaged 25ppg their stats were always around the same and when his ppg went up the rest of his game and stats went to the back burner. His stats offensively were always better if by not by a lot, but Pippen was easily the greatest perimeter defender to play this game where as Grant hill was a decent defender at best in his best years and that's what really separates them.
