Wow this has such a different voice from the Tom Waits version, and I don't mean his voice, her voice, that's obvious.  But the two versions come from very states of mind, very different hearts. It may be that no two people experience love in quite the same way, or loss, or death--but we do all experience those things, and that is why this song, just like Waits' version, is so hauntingly beautiful.

This is a beautiful cover, but I don't think that there is any cover greater than the original, though, I feel this is definitely one of the better ones. I don't feel like she entirely captures the feeling of the song. She may capture the notes, but not the feeling within those notes.
