My mom is from South Louisiana and grew up speaking Cajun French, so I can make some of this out. I think the "co fa" sounds a lot like "quoi faire," meaning "what to do?". As someone else has said "t'as cassé mon coeur" means "you broke my heart" (though at first I heard it as "tracasser," which means trouble or worry and wouldn't be out of place here, either). :-)
Does anyone know where you can find the French lyrics to this song?
I'm hearing "Co Fa, Co Fa, Je de Louisiane" or something like that. He also says something like "taca se taca se mon coeur" I know "mon coeur" means "my heart". Any suggestions?
@wackyruss i just scoured around the Internet looking, but I wasn't able to come up with anything solid at all. so I just sent an email to Keith Frank's people and they will hopefully respond to my inquiry soon!
@wackyruss the 'ta ca se' bit is infact 't'a cassé t'a cassé mon coeur' meaning you broke my heart, as he says later on in english. Man creole french is hard to work out though, regardless this song is a beast!
@wackyruss ... Yap... T'as cassé, T'as cassé mon coeur ( in english = You've broken, you've broken my heart...) .... simple... but still looking for the first french sentence I , even as french, can't understand... I don't think it's "Co Fa, Co Fa, Je de Louisiane"... any other suggestion ???
@MarthaMartian i was just listening to Lula Lula last night! :) awesome track. i had a stressful day and it mellowed me out and then got me energetic again
I would like it if you did. I don't understand Cajun French but it does not matter, as they do sing in English as well. This music is so high energy and a wonderful combination of music genres.
This was my first zydeco album

Great song. My Cajun grandpa and I used to ride around in his big red truck on Sundays and listen to Zydeco on the AM stations when I was a kid :)
