Hi Zack, I need OS X to run on my PC cause I got a job offer from Apple (store) but currently can't afford one, haha! My problem is (I think) the patch - I run it in "Administrator Mode" - AND - have closed all VMware programs and applied the patch - but the patch doesn't go passed "starting" then shuts down before unzipping/patching. End results in VMware: "The guest operating system is not Mac OS X Server. This virtual machine will power off". Could really use ur help, hope its simple! - Bobby

forget about running without vt-x. Not working. Changing darwin10-64 to darwin10 will allow you to boot the virtual machine, buet the install will not be possible. Maybe qemu might work

vmware workstation for ubuntu are the same as in windows, but the different file format for linux made it also different. you might think why don't I use windows to do this instead like other people. I want to try something new, and linux uses less processing power then windows

I keep getting VT-x not supported in the BIOS when it clearly is. I ran CPU-z and the VM Ware tool and both report that Visualization VT-x and EM64T support IS enabled . It's still doesn't start the VM though...

I can't get it to work. It says the disk has inconsistency errors and asks for repair. If I do repair it, then I can get it to start to install. but it will still fail installing after a few minutes. I noticed the size of the vmdk file got slightly changed after I choose to repair it.

hello, for some reason when I try to edit the windows.bat file I get an access denied error. I already have virtualization enabled in the bios and I've tried to manually run it as an administrator. The account that I am using is the default admin account on the computer.

Hi Zack, great work! I used VMware Workstation 7.1.4 on Win7.

- I started with VMware Player, but the patcher does not work there... is there any way to use the player?

- When patching the workstation, it just unlocked vmwarebase.dll but not vmware-vmx*.exe (Missing file). Still, I continued the process...

- When I started the VM, I get some apple gray screen, and then another grey/white screen with the rotating colourful cursor... and stays there...

Any suggestion?
