I'm actually great at this game but when I recorded this, I hadn't played it in a while, so I had quite a bit of rust in some parts. This was the first walkthrough I recorded so I learned to always do practice runs after my 3rd or 3th walkthrough. I definitely admit that my earlier walkthroughs could have been a lot better.
Anyway this is my favorite SMB game. I wish they made an entire line of games like this where you pick up enemies & items rather than stomping them.
When you come to the ladder at 3:44, I would stay underground, do a super jump to the next ladder (starting at the bottom) so I can continue at the same area, before heading back to the half upper ground where the last door is located. However, only Luigi can do that particular stunt.
I got lucky in the Bonus Chance game at the end of each stage. If you watch the cherries carefully during the game, you could time it just right and get 2-ups & 5-ups quite often (something I didn't do here to avoid too much time wasting). I know I got between 40 & 50 lives in the past doing that.
When I played Super Mario Bros. 2 on the "game boy" version, I achieved 99 lives by receiving 1-UPs after defeating the shyguys with a koopa shell in a scoring pattern from 100 to 8000 points. Too bad the winning points don't go further than 10,000 points or your lives go higher than 99 so you would beat the record before anybody else could.
I would take ostro and toss him at shyguy before he could even take any chances of attacking me every step of the way. Nevertheless, shyguys only walk back and forth on one spot (blue version) and sometimes step up & down to the lower ground throughly (red version). They also had an appearance on Yoshi's Island.
Each time I played 3-2 level, I used to like throwing the bombs against the rocks and then wait for them to blow up in order to walk through the path. After blowing your way through with the bombs, you would climb up the ladder and then climb down again to the next underground section, because they are being divided. At the last underground section, you would reveal the 2nd mushroom from the left side of the squared hideout along with the ninjis blocking your way.
You suck! LOL
