What really happened was after WW1 the allies sent a giant bill to Germany and began to pressure germany into paying them year after year. France in particular even sent military to occupy German industries. Germany than began to devalue the mark to pay the debt off easier. This eventually led to hyperinflation. At that point the French refused to even collect worthless marks.

When Hitler did come to power, he refused to pay any reparations at all. He thought the war was unjust, the german surrender unjust, and the whole financial system unjust. So, he did not solve the debt problem. He just ignored it. Today it is impossible for a country to do that w/o avoiding a crash.

The Germans massively devalued their currency to pay off their war debt, much as the United States is doing currently to pay off its debt. The United States is doing a better job at this by limiting the distribution of currency to prevent inflation however. Hitler tends to get credit for things he didn't personally accomplish.

@MrRatman134 unfortunately we do have alot of sheep in the world.. they follow stupid things and pop culture.. the best way to prove this is look at our entertainment.. why do people like books like Twilight? Games like COD. or a terrible movie with its name, font, and story ripped off of other movies?(Avatar) Well... because "everyone else is doing it" safe to say.. we're screwed. If your not convinced the world is full of sheep.. take a look at "planking" or the Christian faith.. either way..

You know how the Third Reich turned around the economy? By military expansion, grabbing foreign assets, and feeding the German arms manufacturers. By mid-40s, the Fuehrer was most likely insane, and the war effort had spread itself think across several fronts. German lost because the 3R was an unmitigated failure.

What really happened was after WW1 the allies sent a giant bill to Germany and began to pressure germany into paying them year after year. France in particular even sent military to occupy German industries. Germany than began to devalue the mark to pay the debt off easier. This eventually led to hyperinflation. At that point the French refused to even collect worthless marks.

@TehVideoManMakeVids Before, Hitler came to power central bankers had reestablished a new currency and stabilized the inflation. The allies loosened their demands on reparations. When Hitler did come to power, he refused to pay any reparations at all. He thought the war was unjust, the german surrender unjust, and the whole financial system unjust. So, he did not solve the debt problem. He just ignored it. Today it is impossible for a country to do that w/o avoiding a crash.

@WarbossChris actually the debt was paid off before the Wiemar Republic fell. The Germans massively devalued their currency to pay off their war debt, much as the United States is doing currently to pay off its debt. The United States is doing a better job at this by limiting the distribution of currency to prevent inflation however. Hitler tends to get credit for things he didn't personally accomplish.

They can learn alot about engineering, finance and conservation that they will not learn in the United States. And yes, the Germans are very hard working. As far as Hitler stablizing the economy however, that was done prior to Hitler rising to power. I will google the debt thing to see which war they paid off. They had more than one.

@WarbossChris you think it was some grand fiscal policy? lol. the only reason he was able to fix unemployment was his restructuring the entire infrastructure to be able to support mass troop movements, building new installations, bombs and tanks. Had they not gone to war when they did, the economy would have been right back in the crapper in a few months. which last i checked, america has been doing for the last few decades. hasn't worked out too well.

@WarbossChris It's unfortunate that this view of Germany's economic standing has survived. For some reason, people regard Mussolini and Hitler as economic masters who saved their countries, which isn't true. (In Italy, the trains were actually more likely to disappear, than ever show up).
But for Hitler, he actually increased the amount of debt, and generated a large trade deficit for Germany. He had a maximum tax rate of 98%, to finance his military regime, which stunted private industry.

@WarbossChris Furthermore, German Real Wages declined by 25% over the course of Nazi Rule. Workers became simple tools of production, and lost the right to quit jobs. The decline in wages hurt the German people, and to make it worse, the state wasn't even trying to pretend to help them. Instead, all the money it confiscated from the economy, it used to make weapons and prepare for war.
If anything, the decline in unemployment can only be attributed to drafts, and forced employment.

@LiberalMoronAward No, he was a member of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, which was the main political opponent of the Communists in Germany. They held socialist views early on, but these were abandoned or weakened as they consolidated power.
By the way, officially, North Korea is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. I suppose that makes them democratic, right?

In any case, socialism =/= Nazism, even if Nazism WERE to equal socialism. Socialism is an extremely broad term covering a huge number of different economic views. Taxation is socialist. A standing volunteer army is socialist. A fire department funded by taxation is socialist.

@LiberalMoronAward Hitler could get some support, broadly speaking, from self-proclaimed conservatives if he stuck to social issues. The same could be said of Stalin, actually—in terms of that axis of the political spectrum, Hitler and Stalin held similar views.
Hitler did not nationalize industry in the way that the Soviet Union did. He could also run on his support for a strong military, well-supplied by private industry.
Nazism was primarily anti-Semitic and nationalistic.
