Deep Purple is 15 times better than Led Zeppelin. In most of Led Zeppelin's songs there is only one riff played throughout. Deep Purple has some of the most complicated and best sounding riffs out there (and they have more than one riff per song!).

As for Jon Lord, for me he is king of keyboard. His solo's are something special as was Richie Blackmore's on "In Rock" and launched the band to become the legends they are today.
