  • what's the title of the song in this video?

  • It's still drives me nuts that America doesn't know IN ROCK... which is the bible of metal! EVERYTHING starts there, from neo-classical metal to thrash metal to hair metal!

  • @XanaduMountain I'm here to tell you that In Rock has always been one of my favorites here in America.

  • "In Rock" the birth of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal (May 1970).

  • Best ever Deep Purple Album - The best RIFFs ever, amazing!!!!!!!

  • Am I the only one who really likes Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple?

  • That live video clip was way TOO SHORT , because that was a crystal clear version of an incredilble Mk 2 Deep Purple, and red hot version of " Mandrake Root '.. I also wanted to hear and see how Jon Lord plugged into his 200 watt Marshall Major..

  • @TonyRomeoUSA1 If you haven't seen it already, there's a good segment on the CLASSIC ALBUMS - MACHINE HEAD dvd from 2002 where Lord is sitting at a lovely old Hammond showing how he unleashed the beast.

  • thanks to the mainstream radio Deep Purple is only noted for a few hand picked tunes as well as so many other bands. Most of the current noise on the radio won't stand the test of time

  • I am learning more about DEEP PURPLE on you tube an i started back in 1974 an i still it to be amazing an timeless as ever.

  • Love music for what it is or go away,,,,trolls

  • This was a breakthrough album for Purple! This established them as a band to be reckoned with!

  • In Rock defined so much music at its time...and then there was machine head....

  • "In Rock" is the best hard rock album all time...

  • @pulcinomi Bad for hard rock can be nags yes, the artistic quality is close to nil, as exciting an album of glam-metal of the 80s, Burn and Come Taste the Band are largely better and interesting than this album

  • Gillian is the best singer

  • one of the 1st three records i ever bought!! perfect... ( the other two being, Alice Cooper "love it to death" and Uriah Heep " Magician's Birthday" )

  • "The marriage of Hammond and the Leslie speaker is a marriage made in heaven" - So true, what a cool guy Jon is.

  • Deep Purple is 15 times better than Led Zeppelin. In most of Led Zeppelin's songs there is only one riff played throughout. Deep Purple has some of the most complicated and best sounding riffs out there (and they have more than one riff per song!).

  • @crusakid2 You`ve obviously never listened to Led Zep then have you?

  • @coltsuperocean10 I actually have listened to Led Zeppelin, and they are a good band. I'm just saying that Deep Purple is much more musically talented. Led Zeppelin has nothing like Lazy or Highway Star.

  • @coltsuperocean10 U also forget Zep dont have nything like Burn, Mistreated, Anya, Soldier of Fortune, Child In Time among the others you mentioned....

  • @Firstcontact Thank god!

  • @Firstcontact Purple has song like Achilles,stairway,the rain song,ten years gones,for your life,dazed and confused,since i ven been loving you,the rover,tea for one,black dog????

    Your argument is pathetic...

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM Its true. Yeah Zep av some songs, but Purple is much easier to recognise.

They are Zep songs - Dazed and confused etc... the way you have wored YOUR argument is PATHETIC.

My argument is NOT pathetic, the riff to Smoke on the Water is much more recognisable and Ian Gillan and David Coverdale hell, even Glen Hughes kicks the fuck out of Led Zeppelin!!

  • @Firstcontact We not understand bro !

So SUPER GIGA BIG COOL STORY BRO !

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM Your off your bloody rocker!!

  • @crusakid2 Deep Purple is a band full of virtuosos.

  • @crusakid2 Yes Purple has more Technician musician, but But the coherence of the group is far better in the zep...

  • @coltsuperocean10 its all so a well none fact that lz ripped of more songs from other people than anybody else, they have paid out huge amount of money to other artists. also jimmy page was the best studio guitarist in the world but was very sloppy live

  • @cooldudeoncp best studio huh wow when did that happen I must have missed it.........

  • @cooldudeoncp Even say that, listen some bootleg and after, you can talk.

  • @coltsuperocean10 Led Zeppelin Better, hahahahaha. Led Zeppelin WERE THE MOST OVERATED BAND IN THE WORLD. Can you tell me that mediocre albums like Presence and In through the out door are masterpieces? NO FUCKIN WAY. Get out of here asshole, go to read Rolling Stone and think that Jack White and Kurt Cobain are better guitarist and more innovative than RITCHIE BLACKMORE or MICHAEL SCHENKER.

  • @machine13messiah.......hahahahahahaha, theres always one isnt there?

  • @machine13messiah STFU,on stage zep was better than purple, listen some bootleg and make a comparaison with purple, the zep no needs a organ to be awesome, bonham makes more noise than Lord and Paice....

Presence is awesome album ITTOD no,with Presence zep innovates with Achilles and For your life,it was unheard of that the structure of the first and the second riff.If you want,i can talk of Who Do We Think We Are or Machine Head, the most overatted album in history? It was a succes beacause Smoke...

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM

    1. Zeppelin better on stage? Are you serious? The Song Remains the Same, How the West Was Won or another live record (or bootleg) of Zeppelin cant compare to Made In Japan, Live In London , California Jam or Live in Stutgart.

Machine Head overated? by who? Those adjective is more apropiate to "IV"

  • @machine13messiah You are just a fucking hater,stfu please.

You want compare stockolhm 1972(best concert of DP?)and seattle 1975(best concert of zep?Zep is far away more creative in improvisation and agressivity.

Lol lol and LMAO for made in japan, except highway star, smoke, child, strange kind of woman, you are what?A fucking pretention with no creativity from the band specialy blackmore, unlike page...Made in japan is not the best concert of dp...

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM

Blackmore plays classical music too, he didnt mess around making random noises with a bow on the guitar, stucking in the same old blues scale. Agressivity? Did you hear the album that this video is talking about? Better on Improvisation? Clean your ears mate or maybe music is not for you.

The equation is simple, its all you need to know LITTLE PIECE OF CRAP

Gillan > Plant, Blackmore > Page, Paice > Bonham, Lord > ?, Roger Glover < John Paul Jones

  • @machine13messiah You know no quarter, dazed and confused, solo of over the hills black dog? This is a true impravisation,i dont mean solos with no feeling from blackmore.

Paice>Bonham LOL,dont compare them please, they dont has the same style, and Bonham at her maximum level beat all rocks drummerat this perdiod,he had the same level like jazz drummer.Paice is a beat too with make a great combinaison with Lord...Jones>Glover no,you dont know that you talk srys...

  • @machine13messiah Gillian>Plant ?Maybe if you like a singer who knows just cry with ridiculous high notes(like Plant with Immigrant Song or some songs sometimes)and who can never change his singing,Gillian is new generation of heavy metal singer(synonym of hard rock at this period),no blues roots, but yeah Gillian has a power vocal more important than Plant, but in question of feeling,variation,etc...Plant beat Gillian.

  • @machine13messiah Blackmore>Page?Yeah and no,In studio and true improvisation Page beat Blackmore, but Blackmore's game was more speed,he has a very solid game unlike page, but the music is question of feeling not speed and Technical.Random noise with bow?but SRYS STFU...At the ears you can hear a agressivity, stfu again..Iv overratted?Yeah maybe but was still better than a hard rockfake blues rock, machine head has never had the a song like stairway, going to california, when the levee breaks or tboe

  • @machine13messiah IF you think Machine Head is their best album, you do not understand music, you're just good to listen to rock, thinking that everything What is that style is good, if so open up your world Music, besides your group that you cherished so much (I do not hate the contrary) has two very good albums, Burn and Come Taste the Band, musically it's much better, not hard rock nag (In Rock) or rock almost irrelevant (Machine Head).

  • @machine13messiah For comparison with the Zep, be objective, I'm a fan of Purple as I'm a fan of Zep, poor kid.

  • @machine13messiah Ok,You argument with White and Cobain are right, but you takl about UFO?LMAO

  • @coltsuperocean10 Thats not entirely true, Zep r the shite ones, whether more successful or not. Ritchie can still kick Jimmy Page's arse. If you go to the average person and played them the riff to Smoke on the Water and Stairway to Heaven I reckon most of them willl recognise Smoke on the Water more. I know some will hate what ive said, but after all people r entitled to their opinion.

  • @Firstcontact Smoke on the Water? My 6 year old nephew can play that 3 chord wonder!! You are a stupid fucking retard if you think that!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 would you rather listen to anything nowadays? Cos if so, then you're a fuckin idiot that doesn't know the first thing about music.

  • @coltsuperocean10 U can think hat you want, but its a more commonly known song... specially as Ritchie is the better guitarist... Zep are shite.... overrated!

  • @Firstcontact More commonly known song than what? Asshole

  • @coltsuperocean10 It's fucking funny when I see the 'rockers' arguing about whose group is better. Who gives a shit, idiot?

  • @coltsuperocean10 The riff from Smoke on the Water is a far more played and known song, fag.

  • @coltsuperocean10 Ritchie Blackmore would play circles around most of his peers. Tone? Have you never heard Child in Time or Pictures of Home?

  • @clydebarrow34 Yes, they make me want to go to sleep!! boring shit!! Ritchie Blackmore is not even in the top 50 guitar players ever!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 Dude Ritchie is the best and still is, the man is talent and genius, ever played guitar and think your gettin pretty dam good then give a little listen and realize there's about a million levels more to break through.

  • @coltsuperocean10 Led Zeppelin are good, Deep Purple are Gods!!!! The only shit here is you!!

  • @97champion hahahaha the only shit here is you you stupid idiot!! Led Zeppelin are the Gods of Rock!! Atleast LZ managed to stay with the same line up for 12 years unlike Deep Purple who had a new member every fucking fortnight!! Shut the fuck up you stupid retarded idiot!!

  • @coltsuperocean10 I love LZ, but DP are not shits!

  • @coltsuperocean10 You are an idiot. You have proven that with every single post. Please learn something about music before posting again.

  • @coltsuperocean10 You retarded idiot, you don't know anything about music! If you prefer Led Zeppelin, it's Ok, if you don't listen Deep Purple, it's Ok, but you can't call him 'shits' 'cause shit here is you! All their songs are masterpieces! Smoke On The Water is easy...and so? They have keyboard, and so? Go fuck yourself, bitch!

  • @coltsuperocean10 so small, yound, shitty and immature point of view :-) i hope u are just joking

  • @coltsuperocean10 Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't John Paul Jones double up occasionally as a keyboard player?

  • @WhiteElephantLives Well aint you the clever one!! Yes he did!! ...and your point is?

  • @coltsuperocean10 Well, one of your criticisms of Deep Purple is their having a keyboard player...

  • @WhiteElephantLives The difference is that John Paul Jones had many varied sounds when on keys, Jon Lord had the same sound over and over an it became a bit stale and dull after a while.

  • @coltsuperocean10 Fair enough, although that wasn't part of your original argument (you seemed to be arguing that having a keyboard player was "60s and fucking boring" ) Granted, Lord seemed to use the same sound on a lot of the famous stuff - though not on all of it - but then many great players had "characteristic" sounds which they used frequently. (Even Page, it could be argued) Of course, if you don't like Jon Lord's trademark sound in the first place, well, each to their own I guess!

  • @WhiteElephantLives Fair enough, with hindsight I was a bit harsh as I used to listen to DP when I was younger and didn`t have a problem, maybe I`m getting old before my time!

  • John Lord is the man!

  • Vejam ai

    watch?v=wqlEkyL0mDY

  • DEEP PURPLE ALWAYS IN OUR MINDS!!

  • I'm glad someone persuaded Lord to sit down and do this.

Or, I'm glad Lord persuaded someone to film him doing this.

  • In Rock,Deep Purple Rocks ¡Awesome album ¡

  • In rock changed my life. When I heard it first time it was something what Im not able to explain. I was paralyzed.

  • Hey, you ask me how many groupies I've fucked?.... how many stars are there in the sky..

  • "In Rock" was my first album I ever brought and is my favourite. It has a special place in my heart. Ian Gillans voice is just amazing singing M1"s "Mandrake Root"

As for Jon Lord, for me he is king of keyboard. His solo's are something special as was Richie Blackmore's on "In Rock" and launched the band to become the legends they are today. Not only did that sound make you happy Jon, it made millians of other people like me happy as well. Rock forever DEEP PURPLE!!!!!

  • padre Pio?

  • That has got to be my favorite album from deep purple and is this documentary on dvd?

  • @polerbear1000 No, but the footage is from the "History Hits & Highlights" DVD (minus the Jon Lord interview at the beginning)
