I have a browning .308 Thumbhole peper stock and its a ripper gun. The only problem I have with it is the magazine. 4 Shot clip makes it a special use gun for Sambar Deer only for me. Whereas I use my other guns when i'm on the pigs due to the smaller clip and time consuming reload of the browning. If only the clip was detachable. Fantastic gun all the same.....Beautiful weighted gun.
I had a Browning A-bolt Medallion in 300 Win Mag. It was certainly a great shooter. It was much nicer to shoot than the Ruger M77 All-weather (300 Win Mag) that I had before the Browning. It's hard to beat a Browning for a factory rifle. I may have to get an X-bolt stainless hunter. I saw one at Riverfield's and immediately fell in love with it. Brownings cost more, but they are worth it!
@SPANKY5ful I will try to do a review on mine but it is a little different. Plus, I don't know that it will get much interest. Mine is the M-1000 ecplipse which is the heavy barrelled thumbhole version with the BOSS. As far as being accurate and fun to shoot, it's great. The ONE thing that I absolutely love about the A-bolt over any other bolt gun is the short bolt throw. Outside of that, you get more gun for your money with something like a Remington. The kicker is the aftermarket stuff.
