The more I look Plushenko's programs, the more I become sure that the best skater is Alexei Yagudin =) Plushenko can never compare to him neither in techincs, nor in artistry.
God! It would be crazy to jump a quad lutz or loop at 29 y.o but I know Plushenko is crazy enouth no try it. I also expect Konstantin Menshov to do it. That´s why I love Russian skaters, they are crazy and they make FS more interesting to watch.
Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your seats, because this won't be the last time we see the quad lutz! Plushenko has confirmed in interviews that he is hitting his triple axel-quad toe combination, his quad lutz AND his quad loop in practice! I can't imagine him not bringing them to competition!
@Samax13 You think. But in Eu and Asia Plushenko is the real gold medalist....Lysacek is Oly Champ only for the americans... You are brainwashed by american media and NBC......
@Samax13 He did not trash Lysacek before the final round, where did you hear such a thing?!!!!??? It was Cinquantta (aka ISU President) who said a lot of stupid things about Plushenko before the final.
@dariustate2008 Ignorant! Plushy is 1time Junior WCH(14 years), 8 time Russian Ch, 1 time Olympic Champion, 2 times Olympic silver medalist, 6 times Euro CH, 3 times World CH, 4 times GPF gold medalist, other gold medals of GP, 3 times silver medalist of ECH, 1 time silver ,1 time bronze medalist of World CH, at the age of 15 he was 2. in senior EUCH and 3. in senior WCH. He is the king, of course.
I agreed with MrEvan, I will not watch sasha cohen and such again, I've even found Yaugdin's 2002 Olympic program "winter" boring compared to Plushenko's. I like how Plushenko always bring new elements (both technical and artistic) to the programs. You could see he has a lot of input on his programs and music, that why he is unique!
LOL! someone needs to move on and stop acting like they know art or figure skating! Never met such bitter person trying to spread their bitterness in Plushenko's video (in this particular video, he has won so many medals that he tried his limits AGAIN in here) He is always pushing himself to bring us better programs, that's why he has won our hearts, and many others who had worked with him! (e.g. Edvin Marton)
to question Plushenko's artistry is simply wrong. He is unique because he has brought us so many mesmerizing programs. Like ballet he could play out a wide variety of character, yet he could combine the art and sport in perfect harmony! Therefore he is the legend. Period!
The famous russian ballet dancers say Plushenko is artistry. I belive them. And i see too. Who cares for Pinto? How anyone can say that the Carmen, Adagio, Tribute to Nijinszky, Moonlight Sonata, Je suis malade ect. aren't artistry? I really don't understand. And i ask again and again, why got Evgeni so many 6.0 in old system, if he isn't artistry? He deceives the whole world. Pinto is the only one, who knows the truth.
@pinto89100 OMG! LOL! Plushenko isn't artistry..You are blind? Who is artistry? Rippon? He is a boy, man (20 y.o.), why he skate as a girl? He is big talent, but i feel bad, when i see him skate !! Plushenko has brilliant technique, overflowing grace and art, charisma and humour...he's definitely the best.
/watch?v=7aGZXEs4dIE
/watch?v=QAMATAtaVXc
Why he isn't artistry? You explain to me please.
/watch?v=0UmelX0D-rw this i just found....in this he is very very sexy..
@iloveplushenko really? is that why he DID win the respect of his people for being a down to earth person wheras pushingo is nothing more than a pompus sore loser? and you can be a genius of anything but if your a pompus ass like pushing go then your nothing/
amuse me your effort? English mother fucker do you speak it?!
The last week was a show in Japan. "I saw this performance live in Fukui in Japan and Plushenko was burning like a flame on the ice!" said a japanese viewer about Plushenko. I think he wasn't expressive, he really set fire to himself!!!!
Plushenko made a successful comeback, not only because he has the gut to compete the quad clean in both programs, but also at age 28 he is no doubt the great skater in the recent 20+ years! Many people may hate his gut so they decided to rig the game a bit. He won hearts of his coach over Yaugdin, his loyalty and passion to the sport, other skaters who looked up to him, and fans all over the world just prove that he what he is made of...GOLD that is.
There's a reason for Evengi to win 10 consecutive win in this video and being what he is today! History won't lie! He set such impressive records and still compete successfully at age 28, I hope he continues to skate many more years as he will pushes himself to bring us more excellent programs. Even when you take out the quad, he is still a prodigy, most brilliant artist and skater!
In my opinion everybody is free to like whoever they want. There are a lot of people who prefer Sasha Cohen over Michelle Kwan even if Sasha hasn´t Michelle´s titles. Can we blame us if they like her skating?
@SimonaCB I agree. I happen to be one of those people who always preferred Sasha over Michelle, who I found very stiff on the ice and never really got her appeal as far as artistry goes. Although like Plushenko, Michelle does did have a presence that demanded attention.
@pinto89100 Me too, I like Sasha more than Michelle. I like Mao more than Yu-Na even I know that Yu-Na is an amazing skater and a great champion. I like Lambiel and Takahashi more than Joubert, even many people think that Joubert´s style is close to Plushenko´s. I´ve never liked Elvis Stojko despite his athleticism. I like Johnny Weir nore than Evan, etc. LOL!!!! :)))))
@SimonaCB Hmm...you almost share my exact same taste in skaters. Although I prefer Jeremy Abbott over both Evan and Weir but each to their own opinion. ;)
@101optimus It´s not Olympics, it´s Cup of Russia when he tried a 4Lutz for the first time. If you want to see a good fall watch the 2002 Olympics, the SP. Despite the fall the program is amazing!
My country doesn´t have top competitive skaters so I am not interested if the name of the Olympic champion is Plushenko or Lysacek and I don´t watch NBC so the commentators can´t tell me who is the best and why, and I draw my own conclusions after watching the programs, judging them according to the rules, analyzing the way that they were scored.
During the US. Nationals the NBC commentators were talking about Plushenko´s 2006 Olympic, programs what a shamefull propaganda! Practically Lysacek´s supporters are repeating like parrots what they´ve heard in the media about Plushenko and his programs.
@SimonaCB yeah, it is very shameful to spread propaganda from major Channel! What annoys me is many of the Lysacek American supporters repeating like parrots! Don't like to be brainwashed. I speak other languages fluently and haven't seen such thing in the other countries. At least the news commentators are more objective.
@thequadlegend Yeah! Unfortunaletly I don´t speak Russian to understand what the Russian commentators said about Lysacek but I know that at least they don´t talk during the programs, they have high respect for this sport and for the audience who should enjoy the program and the music. On Youtube I always search for videos with Russian commentary, or British, French, Spanish or Italian if I want to understand what they say.
@julianaqtpi You are american, of course. You are biased, of course. Evan hasn't passion, isn't artistry, isn't graceful. Sorry. We don't like his skating out of America. Evan hasn't fans in Europe . If you want to see really artistry performances you watch Evgeni Plushenko. For example: Tribut to Nijinsky(best program ever), Moonlight Sonata, Tango an Flamenco, Adagio. There are really art on ice. But he is allways MANLY!
@lala630312 No, i am not american, actually. Evan has the passion, whereas Evgeni just seems to go along with the music, not expressing himself in any way. Yes, hes a good jumper, but its not all about the jumps! As a skater myself, i can testify to that- i fell three times on my three hardest jumps in a recent competition, no one else in the event fell, and i got 1st place. See? Even at a lower level (preliminary), jumps arent everything. And dont judge all american male skaters by johnny weir.
@julianaqtpi You watch the programs, what i recommend you, please. You can find on Youtube. If you say, that Plushy only jumper, you don't know him. What do you think, why adore him many peoples all over the world? Because he is unique, exiting , athlete, artistry. He has charisma, and talent. i never tired of his skating. In the male skating are very important the jumps, and the quad. If the male skaters can't do it, the contest will be boring.
@lala630312 I totaly agree with you! Who is Plushenko? He is a great skater, living legend! He did so much for this sport! I think an Olympic champion should be like him, should do something that no one else can do, because it's good for sport.
Who is Evan? Hard worker, yes. But he is not special. He doesn't have even 10% of Plushenko's talent, his jumps are not near as good, and I don't find him artistic at all. It's a shame, after Kulik, Yagudin and Plushenko we came to this guy...
@luckystar55512 I liked Kulik, Yag, but my favorite is Eeevgeniiii! I adore since 1998, when he was 15 years old, and i saw him at first time. He is perfect, his skating is manly. i don't want more feminin skaters. I want to see the different the girls and boys. I don't like the new scoring system, because made many feminin skaters, as Chan, Rippon. They skate is beautiful, but as girls. I think, this is opinion the majority of Fs fans. Only North Am like this style.
@julianaqtpi Judges got a better mark for Plushenko's music interpretation and execution/performance. While Lysacek got 8.40 in interpretation, Plushenko 8.75, In Execution/Performance, Lysacek got 8.50 Plushenko 8.80. Thus, ironically Lysacek didn't get much appreciation in his artistry by judges as you think.
i have to disagree on some people bout evgeny being the most amazing skater. yes his jumps are amazing! but what he lacks is artistic, expression, and feeling which evan has. skating is not always about jumps. with the old system yes but now with the new system choreography, jumps, spins, spirals, footwork is all a major thing in skating. if we combine evan and evgeny together..now that would be the most amazing skater.
@phusk8r what are you talking about ?there are so many skaters "just about jumps" but he is one of the most musical, artistic skaters of all times !!!!
yes there are lots of skaters that are about jumps but not all. i mean look at yuna kim. she's not all about jumps. have u seen her artistic skills? her spins? or even mirai. and look at evan. evan doesn't have the same jumping skills as evgeny but why did evan beat plushenko? because evan had better artistic and spins than plushenko. and look im not saying that plushenko sucks or anything. plushenko's jumps is the best compared to all the other men figure skaters.
@phusk8r i guess we just have to disagree on this one ,for me his artistic skills and his ability to express his soul through his skating goes well beyond his technical skills.
@rachatlu I totally agree with you!I am still angry, Evgeni is an entertainer. His skating charm, touched my soul. Every day, I can see it. The music flows over Evgeni, and there is every movement. I'm sorry, who don't knows Evgeni's skating!
@phusk8r Are you joking? Please check the marks they receved for interpretation and performance and then tell me who is the artist according to the jury, not to personal opinions.
His spins are not bad, in the SP for example he had the third score, after Lambiel and Kozuka. I am sick of hearing all these shameless lies!!!! Besides that, the best skater in the World in this moment is Daisuke Takahashi. Lysacek simply does not exist anymore.
@phusk8r Why did Evan won? Well...maybe because the jury did not see his wrong-edged flip or his underotated axel? I am not a jury but I've noticed them very well during Lysacek's programs like many commentators did. And we can find many other reasons but certainly it wasn't his "artistry".
@phusk8r I don't belive! Evgeni most artistry than Evan. Evgeny is really artistry, he is an entertainer! Did you see Evgeni's skating? Carmen in 2002 SLC or Tribute to Nijinsky, Tango and flamenco 2004, Adagio 2003, Moonlight Sonata! I think , you didn't see this programs. You can find on YouTube. He is the best skater ever. You are far from Plushenko, you remember his skating. If you have opinion, you have good information.
Americans are repeating all that cheats you heard on n b c. But World doesnt watch your biased TV, a lot of other experts and analysts not Rus not Americans investigated the two skaters'programs and they ALL reached the conclusion that Plush should have won in every aspect. Plush cleanly landed 4-3 combo twice, his footwork &spins were exellent & fast, his artistry was great. Lysa technically is about 30% behind Plush's ability.
ynkisno1 How ridiculous you are, how Lysa can be the best? You can search for Plush-so many people love him and watch his skating, 90% of all comments on Youtube or anyWeb are supportive for Plush and humiliating for Evan! Nobody really likes Lysa's skating! He is slow, without passion and no rhythm in his skating. For never saying again this crap just go to click your fake hero- you'll see no one is there and if someone is there it is for telling you that PLUSH IS THE BEST.
this guy gives me the creeps i dont know enough about the guy but from what i saw on the olympics the dude seems like a jerk or was just having a bad night
Um, please consider that he'd just lost the gold medal, to a man who can't even do the difficult elements that he can, and was having a little trouble comprehending that. That doesn't make him a jerk. It makes him competitive, but not a jerk.
@aussiepassion hello there, he lost on the TES score, so that's me Olympian Champion, Evan Lysacke perform a more difficult stuffs than him. Accept it and stop being sore loser.
@ynkisno1 You talk such shit! You have probably never skated in your life. You can't even spell the word 'Lysacek' properly, let alone comment on his skating. LOL!
@yanki, How ridiculous you are, how Lysa can be the best? You can search for Plush-so many people love him and watch his skating, 90% of all comments on Youtube or anyWeb are supportive for Plush and humiliating for Evan! Nobody really likes Lysa's skating! He is slow, without passion and no rhythm in his skating. For never saying again this crap just go to click your fake hero- you'll see no one is there and if someone is there it is for telling you that PLUSH IS THE BEST.
@aussiepassion 1. Evan has done a clean quad in the past. 2. Evan's program was like skaterpups said, overall harder. All Evgeny had was the quad that night (and not a great one either). He was a rough draft of his former self, he thought he could win using the tactics he did in Torino. Evan played by the rules and that's the biggest reason he won. Unlike Plushenko, Evan had harder transitions going into his jumps, his spins were miles ahead better, his footwork was better, and he was cleaner.
Evan also had many of his jumps after the half point (10% bonuses) while Plushenko front loaded and STILL wobbled through his program, not to mention he didn't even have half the transitions Evan had! Evgeny couldn't even land a 3Lz without wobbling.
Plushenko is a jerk, period. He didn't have a gold worthy performance. He was arrogant enough to think that because he is Evgeni Plushenko he could get by playing by outdated rules and stumbling through his program and still win because of a quad.
@pinto89100 Evan beat Plushenko by 1,31 points which is absolutely shameful considering his "amazing" jumps, transitions, spins, etc. I really hope that Plushenko is an arrogant jerk because he has all the reasons to be, one year of training and an outdated program were practically enough to beat someone who worked his butt off all day long, for four years. But I agree with you, he lost because he didn´t play by the rules and I believe that he understood his mistake.
@SimonaCB Never said Evan's jumps were amazing (considering his height how could you expect them to ever be), but hell, his jumps were definitely better than the ones Plushenko somehow managed to land with merely half the transitions Evan had. Not to mention that his spins, footwork, and choreography weren't even near Evan's quality. Plushenko was a feeble, rough draft of his former self, his program wasn't worthy of almost beating Evan's.
He's just an arrogant jerk. Quit with the excuses.
@pinto89100 Plushenko is best skater ever, forever! He isn't yerk and you are the biased american, who don't know nothing about him. His personality is really interesting, and unique! The transitions is stupid thing in male FS. The americans think, that is the FS the sport of gay, because of the transition! Evan is MEDIOCRE skater, pitiful champion forever!! Boring and isn't artistry. I think, Plushenko not care for the americans, because he get many love wherever he go!
@lala630312 Oh fuck off and go kiss Plushenko's ass somewhere else. You obviously don't know what transitions are and how putting them into your program uplifts the overall difficulty.
I love how you seem to imply that because I am an American I must hate all Russian skaters, that I must be biased and think that all skaters that aren't American must suck. For your information, I am fond of many skaters from many different countries, including Russia, and the way I see it, you are the one(cont)
@pinto89100 I never denied that I am a BIG fan of Plushenko. But I'm not Russian. What do you think, why he has so many fans and why so many people love his skating?I will answer to you. Because his skating and personality has impact on people. Is he arrogant? No, he just always says what he thinks, and what is his opinion. But i know, not every people loves the such man. I have many information about his entire life, he is really interesting and unique person. (continue)
@pinto89100 Evgeni didn't change, he didn't forget where comes from. I think, the popularity and the money can change the people, but not Plushy! Therefore i love him( i'm not alone), and i will always defend him! Which is more interesting program , Plushy's program, with less transitions, or for example, Chan's program? To me, who is simply viewer? Which will bring more viewers to the FS, Chan or Plushy? The popularity of FS isn't interesting?
@lala630312 Read your comments, the only one kissing someone else's ass here is you. You sound like a psychotic fan girl. I'm not interested in the 'great' things he does outside of ice, I'm interested in talking about the Vancouver controversy. Capiche?
And to answer your question, Chan's program was a 100 X's more interesting than "Plushy's". Too bad he fell. His basic skating skills are also hundred times better.
@pinto89100 Your comments towards lala630312 is just rude. what are you trying to prove by posting on this particular video on Plushenko after he just won 10 consecutive wins at tender age of 21? In this video he is composed and yet you argued he is arrogant and did not earn his place?! Who is the psychotic fan here? Did you really watched both of their performance? Too bad, Evans is too chicken to compete along with Plushenko again, he even withdrew the Worlds and took a year off.
@thequadlegend Talking about psychotic fans, you seem to be under the impression that I am fond of Evan's skating. I am not, I am fond of neither. I much prefer Jeremy, Lambiel, and Chan for that matter, but none of them skated programs that even put them into contention.
I decided to comment here because once again there was some fool who thought that because Plush did a quad he should have won. Ridiculous. I don't care what he has done in the past, I'm talking about the Vancouver. Understand?
@lala630312 1) It's jerk, not "yerk", and yes, Plushenko is an arrogant jerk.
2) LOL. Of course someone like you would only care about what the audience thinks about a skater. I have opinions about skaters because of the impression they leave on ME, I'm not some psychotic fan girl who favors skaters because of their looks and their fan base, thank you.
4) "I wouldn't learn transitions because I don't like it" Again, you wouldn't be able to tell a transition from a spin. ;)
@pinto89100 He isn't jerk, you know other skaters like Plushenko. Evan said about him, he is a nice man! LOL! But you don't answer me, what do you think about these programs? /watch?v=NGanRnHVNIs&feature=related
/watch?v=TPLHGSA6cos
/watch?v=QAMATAtaVXc I'm really curious..You know, i love Plushenko because of his skating. His skating seduce me, i like to watch his every movement. What do you think, why do i love him? Why he has many fans all over the worlds? I wait your answer.
@lala630312 You think I would form an opinion on a skater without having watched them several times first? I don't need to watch whatever those videos show, I have seen just about every program Plushenko has done from his many, MANY years in competition. I'm not a fan of him, and yes, as incredible as it may sound to you I would take Chan's superior artistry and overall skating skills over Plushenko any day. Capiche? Quit straying away from Vancouver which arose this argument in the 1st place.
@pinto89100 If you don´t like a skater why do you spend your time posting comments on his videos and trying to convince the others that there are no reasons to like him? If you like other skaters go and watch them, you like Chan, watch Chan you are free and it does not sound incredible at all that you like him, I like him too, what it sounds incredible it´s to annoy us continuously with "NBC clichés", if I want to hear them I´ll search for Dick Button and Scott Hamilton, thank you!
@SimonaCB Don't put words in my mouth, Simona. I have never tried convincing you or Lala to stop liking your favorite skater. I started an argument here in response to someone who was implying (again) that because Evan did not do a quad he shouldn't have won. And once again falsely stating that Evan could not do a quad when he has done so in the past and just did recently in FOI Japan. If you don't like my comments then by all means ignore them. Forums are not exclusive to positive comments.
@pinto89100 Plushenko himself said that Evan can do a quad and he knows Evan better than us because they skated many times together during Champions on Ice.
@SimonaCB Yes, I know, but Evan quad hadn't been consistent at that point and when you add the foot injury it would have simply been too much of a risk. He would have been put right out of contention for a gold medal had he fallen.
@pinto89100 True, forms are not exclusive to positive comments; but definitely NOT for your brainless, rude comments! Your comments in here to discredit Plushenko's quad in here is basically insulting FS! And your comments saying other people are psychotic, arrogrant, ugly, bullshxt, etc etc with no basis is NOT welcome! Once I saw you cussing I think the world knows who they are dealing with!
@thequadlegend I'm discrediting Plushenko's quad? What the hell is wrong with you? I am simply saying that you have to have more than a quad to win. if that's all you're bringing to the competition and all your emphasis is on the jumps and you still WIN, then yes, I do think there is something wrong with that.
Evan won because he was the WHOLE package that NIGHT, and for that reason I believe his win was well deserved.
@thequadlegend Again playing the innocent here, aren't we? Weren't you the one that was calling Simona stupid and whatnot when you thought she wasn't on your side of the coin? Get your self righteous attitude out of here, you aren't fooling anyone.
@pinto89100 There's some misunderstanding on Simona's comments but we came to terms soon after that. At least I didn't accuse ppl being psychotic, and bullshxt and such like you do!
@thequadlegend We also came to terms after that, and my calling other people names is nothing different from what you were doing. So once again, get the self righteousness out of here.
@pinto89100 there's no agruement that Plushenko is better skater in both technical merit and artistry. If Evan has a better agruement so his fans based wouldn't just be Americans, or Canadians. Plushenko took greater risk, and his quads put him in greater injuries, your so called agruement that IF the others didn't fall they should have won is plain oxymoron! Disappointed in Evans chickens out. That's why he is a joke and never be like the level of Plushenko.
@thequadlegend I'm not saying Evan is the better skater, I am saying he was the best skater that night. Yes, Plushenko probably went there as the "best" skater, definitely the most experienced and whatnot, but Evan left with the Gold. Why? Because he had a harder program that was COP friendly and he was clean. Filled with transitions before the jumps to make it harder, his jumps had more flow, his spins and footwork were better, and he had better choreography. All Plushenko had was the quad.
@pinto89100 You've also mentioned Evans also played the new rules well. His programs are not harder, otherwise, there will not be an argument if he has a better argument. His scores were given too generously in his SP to be able to closely compete with Plushenko's. Furthermore, his skating is slow and the jumps were low and timid, therefore will not generate a great sensations like Plushenko.
@thequadlegend Okay, well then tell why his program was NOT harder. Just because he didn't have a quad? I can already tell you that that is a poor argument.
@pinto89100 I didn't just say that, you came to judgment too quickly and being so rude, I will not response to that anymore! There's enough comments in here and please don't fool anyone to prove you are right.
@pinto89100 Simona said well, i wrote those stories, because i used them as arguments. The americans said: -Evan better skater, than Evgeni- i wrote he is the most decorated champion. -he is a Jerk, arrogant ect.- i wrote he received incredible amount of gift. If he arrogant, why he got many gift?
- he is cocky- why he has so many fans all over the world, and why likes him the other skaters?
-his skating is only jump- he received a total of 75 6.0s in his career.
@lala630312 So reading your first comment which I completely missed when I wrote my previous comments....I'll take that. You got tired of people calling Plushenko a jerk so you mentioned the gifts, how many people like his personality, etc. Ok, I'll acknowledge that I went a tad far too personal. I don't know Plushenko well enough to say he is a jerk in all aspects of his life, but I think it's safe to assume he was a bit too cocky for his own good during interviews. Fair?
@pinto89100 Yes, this is much better. I agree with him, but we don't start the debate. Chan is younger than Plush, he learn skate in the new system, and in American style. I like the russian style: very difficult jumps, elegant skating, ballet fundaments, charisma. I think this is the russian style, but this is my opinion. I watched Abbot's program in Nat Ch. He is far better, than Evan or Chan. But i don't like this style. The new system doesn't allow for variability. Do you understand me?No...
@lala630312 What exactly is an American style in FS to you? (Chan is Canadian on a side note.) I hope you aren't meaning skaters who can't do quads. Timothy Goebel is American and has been hailed as the quad king.
While Plushenko is full of charisma he is anything but balletic. Trust me as a former ballet dancer, his fundamentals are anything but that of one.
In my opinion, Abbott is far better than Evan or Plushenko. His basic skating is stronger, he is more expressive, (cont)
@pinto89100 I haven't time, but i will answer to you later. You don't know when Evgeni was a little boy, and moved to ST. Petersburg to Mishin, the famous Kirov Ballet invited him to ballet dancer. He chose the skating. You are prerjudiced. You watch this links, please. They have many ballet lesson with his choreographer David Avdish. If you want to know the true:
@lala630312 I am prejudiced? I'm sorry, but you are the one who is insulting American skating in general. Saying that I'm prejudiced I am not fond of your favorite skater is a poor way of looking at things.
Your info is interesting, but I would've never known that Plushenko had taken ballet from his skating alone. He definitely does not show it in the way he skates.
@pinto89100 Plushenko's style is not balletic. Johnny Wier talked once about this aspect and explained that is wrong to believe that the Russian style means only ballet and that in fact Plushenko presence on ice is very Russian even he is not skating to Tchaikovsky like a dancer from Balshoi. LOL!!!!
@pinto89100 I think Plushenko skating in russian style, but he isn't like a dancer from Bolshoi, of course. But his movements shows the ballet fundaments. Did you watch the links?I think no, because you are don't curious for Plushenko, only you REPEAT the STEREOTIPICS, what the americans say about him, therefore i said, you are PREJUDICED. I read some belletdancer's messige to him( for example from Peru, lol), where they talked about his balletic fundaments.
I´ve stopped long time ago to listen to what people say about Plushenko, both positive and negative things, the contradictions are so ridiculous that Plushenko can be at the same time a good skater and a bad skater, an arrogant person and a nice guy, an artistic skater and a jumping machine, etc. LOL!!!!
@lala630312 You are so annoying. Try to be mature with this please. I SAW the info, I told you it was interesting, but plain and simple if you hadn't told me he'd done ballet, I would've never in a million years even considered it because the balletic fundamentals aren't there when he skates.
Do you even watch American men? I don't think you do. They're all slow, they all sway they're arms like crazy, etc? LOL, the only one who is prejudiced here is you, hon!
@pinto89100 Holy Cow!( i read from american girl, and i like it, LOL!) Am I annoying? You are arrogante! I read your comment to Buckley's vid, and i just say, the Evgeni's fans haven't problem with intelligence, but who enjoys Buckley....They have problem with his intelligence! I saw the North Am boys many times. I'm not prejudiced, only i don't like that style. /watch?v=LbbfflDE4PE&translated=1 This isn't Evgeni's vid, but is really interesting.
@lala630312 You are prejudiced because you insult a country's supposed "style" without having a clue what the style is. You just assume that all American skaters are slow, that they all have the same hand motions, etc, etc, when you more likely than not have yet to see more than three of them skate. It's all because you hate Evan, thus for whatever reason you need to hate all the other skaters from the country he represents. It's typical of many of you Plushenko fans (note: I did not say all).
@pinto8910 LOL! Plushenko isn't artistry. This is the american ignorance, the americans didn't watch, didn't know his skating!, they repeat this stupid thing than a parrot. You have ever seen: Carmen, Adagio, Moonlight Sonata, Tango and Flamenco, Tribut to Nijinsky, Gypsy dance. This is the most stupid thing what i heard in my entire life. I finish the argue with you, because what you said,ALSO YOU KNOW,THAT ISN'T TRUE. Why we speak each other, if you using isn't real arguments?
@lala630312 Totally agreed! Very rude for people just barb in and put insulting comments towards others especially they have NO real arguments and backbone! Try to insult people in almost all of her comments. Calling people prejudice while claiming the most technical element is not important rather than style(very subjective), footwork, and spin. As if an elite skater would not work his way to the most difficult quad jump, it just happens! So far I've only heard from Americans they said (con't)
jump defines gold (performance), that's is just ridiculous! You see how dumb to say on a sport? But whatever they say, Plushenko is no doubt the Greatest Skater who set his own records and impact other skaters.
@lala630312 "American ignorance, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." Oh, shut up. It's an opinion, period. Trust me, there are plenty of people who don't think Plushenko is artistic just as there are people who think he is, and as for the people who don't think he is, not all are Americans. I can guarantee you that. ;]
And yes, I HAVE seen all those programs, I have told over and over again that there isn't a Plushenko program I haven't seen. My opinion stays the same.
@pinto89100 "he is not artistic or expressive" "there isn't a Plushenko program I haven't seen. My opinion stays the same"---- Well, the skater can perform "Sex bomb" with two encore and "Je suis malade" with standing ovations - but it doesn't mean that he is "artistic or expressive". He is just "charismatic and impressive"?)
He can express himself on ice, he can be different - that's why he is a great artist. That's my opinion!)
@MrEvan75 I don't think that being charismatic automatically means you are artistic as well. I agree that Plushenko is full of charisma. he has a presence on the ice that others don't have; it demands the attention of every eye in the audience. That being said, I don't think that Plushenko is an artist on the ice. His talent is undeniable, but his programs have simply never moved me. That's just my opinion.
@pinto89100 "...his programs have simply never moved me.That's just my opinion."---- Some people need some melodrama to be moved... But they can't understand the art at all.
Plush is an artist on ice, every emotion can be expressed by him - tragic or comic. He may be a hero or a clown as well. If Russian ballet (watch "Nijinsky") is not artistic enough for you , if Russian history (watch "St-Petersburg-300") is not dramatic enough for you - well, that's not Plushenko's problem.
@MrEvan75 LOL! Plushenko is no Russian ballet dancer on ice! He does not come off as artistic, balletic, or dramatic at all in a way that can move me in any shape or form. Sorry, it's my opinion. Just because I don't happen to be moved by your favorite skater's supposed "artistry" doesn't mean I don't understand art. It's all about a matter of opinion and preference. It's not my problem that you can't deal with that.
@pinto89100 Really?)) Russian ballet dancers have other opinion. Smekalov and Mikhailovsky said that Plush is just a genius. "My favorite skater's supposed artistry" is obvious. You can be moved or not moved by his art or his charisma or something else - that changes nothing.
@MrEvan75 Plushenko doesn't move me. Simple as that. Is this concept too difficult for you to understand? I'm not going to agree with you on Plushenko having artistry if he can't keep me interested in his programs, if he can't bring me to watch his videos over and over again because of how moving they are (which for me they just aren't).
That he is a very talented skater is ridiculous to argue, of course he is. However, there is nothing ludicrous of questioning his artistry.
@pinto89100 I've already understood that he doesn't move you lol So what?! I never re-watch Cohen's vids, but she is an artist - no doubt! Artistry is not just a matter of opinion. If it was so, how the judges could estimate it?
Plush is talented in his technique and in his artistry as well. Any role, any image - he can perform it with great success.
@MrEvan75 Yes, it is a matter of opinion. That's why figure skating fans aren't always going to be on the same page when it comes to artistry. Bad technique to good technique isn't debatable. If you know enough about skating you should know the difference. Artistry, however, IS debatable.
Whether the skater has artistry or not is also a matter of opinion when it comes to the judges. if artistry didn't count in FS, then there would be no controversies.
@pinto89100 Yes, judging is often controversial but Plush never had any problems with his artistry. lala630312 is right)))
Everything in FS is debatable. Wrong edges, technique levels etc. Artistry is more questionable, of course. But it's not just a matter of a subjective opinion, there are some criteria. Think or read a little - what are those criteria - and you will see.
"IMO Plushenko lacks artistry."--- You should say "IMHO", because your opinion is very, very humble LOL
@MrEvan75 His supposed "artistry" is all a matter of opinion. It is not a fact. Just like what I say changes nothing in your mind, what you say changes nothing in mine. I was a ballet dancer and having followed it for many years. the quality is simply not there in Plushenko's skating. You want to see balletic skaters; look at Mao, Sasha, and so forth. Their polished, finished positions and body line are things I fail to see in Plushenko.
naww, he's a cutie :)

I agreed with MrEvan, I will not watch sasha cohen and such again, I've even found Yaugdin's 2002 Olympic program "winter" boring compared to Plushenko's. I like how Plushenko always bring new elements (both technical and artistic) to the programs. You could see he has a lot of input on his programs and music, that why he is unique!
thequadlegend 1 year ago
LOL! someone needs to move on and stop acting like they know art or figure skating! Never met such bitter person trying to spread their bitterness in Plushenko's video (in this particular video, he has won so many medals that he tried his limits AGAIN in here) He is always pushing himself to bring us better programs, that's why he has won our hearts, and many others who had worked with him! (e.g. Edvin Marton)
thequadlegend 1 year ago
to question Plushenko's artistry is simply wrong. He is unique because he has brought us so many mesmerizing programs. Like ballet he could play out a wide variety of character, yet he could combine the art and sport in perfect harmony! Therefore he is the legend. Period!
thequadlegend 1 year ago
The famous russian ballet dancers say Plushenko is artistry. I belive them. And i see too. Who cares for Pinto? How anyone can say that the Carmen, Adagio, Tribute to Nijinszky, Moonlight Sonata, Je suis malade ect. aren't artistry? I really don't understand. And i ask again and again, why got Evgeni so many 6.0 in old system, if he isn't artistry? He deceives the whole world. Pinto is the only one, who knows the truth.

SimonaCB 1 year ago
@SimonaCB I agree. I happen to be one of those people who always preferred Sasha over Michelle, who I found very stiff on the ice and never really got her appeal as far as artistry goes. Although like Plushenko, Michelle does did have a presence that demanded attention.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Me too, I like Sasha more than Michelle. I like Mao more than Yu-Na even I know that Yu-Na is an amazing skater and a great champion.
SimonaCB 1 year ago
During the US. Nationals the NBC commentators were talking about Plushenko´s 2006 Olympic, programs what a shamefull propaganda! Practically Lysacek´s supporters are repeating like parrots what they´ve heard in the media about Plushenko and his programs.
SimonaCB 1 year ago 2
@SimonaCB yeah, it is very shameful to spread propaganda from major Channel! What annoys me is many of the Lysacek American supporters repeating like parrots! Don't like to be brainwashed. I speak other languages fluently and haven't seen such thing in the other countries. At least the news commentators are more objective.
thequadlegend 1 year ago
@thequadlegend Yeah! Evgeni Plushenko is a very excellent skater, but he just doesn't show the passion and artistry that Evan does.
julianaqtpi 1 year ago
@julianaqtpi You are american, of course. You are biased, of course. Evan hasn't passion, isn't artistry, isn't graceful. Sorry. We don't like his skating out of America. Evan hasn't fans in Europe . If you want to see really artistry performances you watch Evgeni Plushenko. For example: Tribut to Nijinsky(best program ever), Moonlight Sonata, Tango an Flamenco, Adagio. There are really art on ice. But he is allways MANLY!
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 No, i am not american, actually. Evan has the passion, whereas Evgeni just seems to go along with the music, not expressing himself in any way. Yes, hes a good jumper, but its not all about the jumps! As a skater myself, i can testify to that- i fell three times on my three hardest jumps in a recent competition, no one else in the event fell, and i got 1st place. See? Even at a lower level (preliminary), jumps arent everything. And dont judge all american male skaters by johnny weir.
julianaqtpi 1 year ago
@julianaqtpi You watch the programs, what i recommend you, please. You can find on Youtube. If you say, that Plushy only jumper, you don't know him. What do you think, why adore him many peoples all over the world? Because he is unique, exiting , athlete, artistry. He has charisma, and talent. i never tired of his skating. In the male skating are very important the jumps, and the quad. If the male skaters can't do it, the contest will be boring.
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 I totaly agree with you! Who is Plushenko? He is a great skater, living legend! He did so much for this sport! I think an Olympic champion should be like him, should do something that no one else can do, because it's good for sport.
Who is Evan? Hard worker, yes. But he is not special. He doesn't have even 10% of Plushenko's talent, his jumps are not near as good, and I don't find him artistic at all. It's a shame, after Kulik, Yagudin and Plushenko we came to this guy...
luckystar55512 1 year ago 2

Thus, ironically Lysacek didn't get much appreciation in his artistry by judges as you think.
hshim80 1 year ago
i have to disagree on some people bout evgeny being the most amazing skater. yes his jumps are amazing! but what he lacks is artistic, expression, and feeling which evan has. skating is not always about jumps. with the old system yes but now with the new system choreography, jumps, spins, spirals, footwork is all a major thing in skating. if we combine evan and evgeny together..now that would be the most amazing skater.
phusk8r 1 year ago
@phusk8r what are you talking about ?there are so many skaters "just about jumps" but he is one of the most musical, artistic skaters of all times !!!!
rachatlu 1 year ago
@rachatlu
yes there are lots of skaters that are about jumps but not all. i mean look at yuna kim. she's not all about jumps. have u seen her artistic skills? her spins? or even mirai. and look at evan. evan doesn't have the same jumping skills as evgeny but why did evan beat plushenko? because evan had better artistic and spins than plushenko. and look im not saying that plushenko sucks or anything. plushenko's jumps is the best compared to all the other men figure skaters.
phusk8r 1 year ago
@phusk8r i guess we just have to disagree on this one ,for me his artistic skills and his ability to express his soul through his skating goes well beyond his technical skills.

lala630312 1 year ago
@phusk8r Are you joking? Please check the marks they receved for interpretation and performance and then tell me who is the artist according to the jury, not to personal opinions.
His spins are not bad, in the SP for example he had the third score, after Lambiel and Kozuka. I am sick of hearing all these shameless lies!!!! Besides that, the best skater in the World in this moment is Daisuke Takahashi. Lysacek simply does not exist anymore.

then tell me why did evan win gold for the olympics? and dont tell me its rigged cause its not.
how does he not exist when he just freakin won the gold 3 months ago?
Daisuke is the best! but not right now with his injury he just healed from.
phusk8r 1 year ago
@phusk8r Why did Evan won? Well...maybe because the jury did not see his wrong-edged flip or his underotated axel? I am not a jury but I've noticed them very well during Lysacek's programs like many commentators did. And we can find many other reasons but certainly it wasn't his "artistry".
SimonaCB 1 year ago 2
@phusk8r I don't belive! Evgeni most artistry than Evan. Evgeny is really artistry, he is an entertainer! Did you see Evgeni's skating? @aussiepassion 1. Evan has done a clean quad in the past. 2. Evan's program was like skaterpups said, overall harder. All Evgeny had was the quad that night (and not a great one either). He was a rough draft of his former self, he thought he could win using the tactics he did in Torino. Evan played by the rules and that's the biggest reason he won. Unlike Plushenko, Evan had harder transitions going into his jumps, his spins were miles ahead better, his footwork was better, and he was cleaner.
pinto89100 1 year ago
Evan also had many of his jumps after the half point (10% bonuses) while Plushenko front loaded and STILL wobbled through his program, not to mention he didn't even have half the transitions Evan had! Evgeny couldn't even land a 3Lz without wobbling.
Plushenko is a jerk, period. He didn't have a gold worthy performance. He was arrogant enough to think that because he is Evgeni Plushenko he could get by playing by outdated rules and stumbling through his program and still win because of a quad.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Evan beat Plushenko by 1,31 points which is absolutely shameful considering his "amazing" jumps, transitions, spins, etc. I really hope that Plushenko is an arrogant jerk because he has all the reasons to be, one year of training and an outdated program were practically enough to beat someone who worked his butt off all day long, for four years. But I agree with you, he lost because he didn´t play by the rules and I believe that he understood his mistake.
SimonaCB 1 year ago
@SimonaCB Never said Evan's jumps were amazing (considering his height how could you expect them to ever be), but hell, his jumps were definitely better than the ones Plushenko somehow managed to land with merely half the transitions Evan had. Not to mention that his spins, footwork, and choreography weren't even near Evan's quality. Plushenko was a feeble, rough draft of his former self, his program wasn't worthy of almost beating Evan's.
He's just an arrogant jerk. Quit with the excuses.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Plushenko is best skater ever, forever! He isn't yerk and you are the biased american, who don't know nothing about him. His personality is really interesting, and unique! The transitions is stupid thing in male FS. The americans think, that is the FS the sport of gay, because of the transition! Evan is MEDIOCRE skater, pitiful champion forever!! Boring and isn't artistry. I think, Plushenko not care for the americans, because he get many love wherever he go!
lala630312 1 year ago 2
@lala630312 Oh fuck off and go kiss Plushenko's ass somewhere else. You obviously don't know what transitions are and how putting them into your program uplifts the overall difficulty.
I love how you seem to imply that because I am an American I must hate all Russian skaters, that I must be biased and think that all skaters that aren't American must suck. For your information, I am fond of many skaters from many different countries, including Russia, and the way I see it, you are the one(cont)
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 I never denied that I am a BIG fan of Plushenko. But I'm not Russian. What do you think, why he has so many fans and why so many people love his skating?I will answer to you. Because his skating and personality has impact on people. Is he arrogant? No, he just always says what he thinks, and what is his opinion. But i know, not every people loves the such man. I have many information about his entire life, he is really interesting and unique person. (continue)
lala630312 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Evgeni didn't change, he didn't forget where comes from. I think, the popularity and the money can change the people, but not Plushy! Therefore i love him( i'm not alone), and i will always defend him! Which is more interesting program , Plushy's program, with less transitions, or for example, Chan's program? To me, who is simply viewer? Which will bring more viewers to the FS, Chan or Plushy? The popularity of FS isn't interesting?
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 Read your comments, the only one kissing someone else's ass here is you. You sound like a psychotic fan girl. I'm not interested in the 'great' things he does outside of ice, I'm interested in talking about the Vancouver controversy. Capiche?
And to answer your question, Chan's program was a 100 X's more interesting than "Plushy's". Too bad he fell. His basic skating skills are also hundred times better.
Until you learn what transitions are, bye.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Your comments towards lala630312 is just rude. what are you trying to prove by posting on this particular video on Plushenko after he just won 10 consecutive wins at tender age of 21? In this video he is composed and yet you argued he is arrogant and did not earn his place?! Who is the psychotic fan here? Did you really watched both of their performance? Too bad, Evans is too chicken to compete along with Plushenko again, he even withdrew the Worlds and took a year off.
thequadlegend 1 year ago
@thequadlegend Haha! You are just too funny! Just the other day you were insulting Simona and calling him/her stupid. XD
This is a debate and I am not the nicest person (and judging from your previous comments neither are you). Deal with it.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@thequadlegend Talking about psychotic fans, you seem to be under the impression that I am fond of Evan's skating. I am not, I am fond of neither. I much prefer Jeremy, Lambiel, and Chan for that matter, but none of them skated programs that even put them into contention.
I decided to comment here because once again there was some fool who thought that because Plush did a quad he should have won. Ridiculous. I don't care what he has done in the past, I'm talking about the Vancouver. Understand?
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Well, I would like if we don't write to each other insulting words. OK?
1. I'm not girl, I'm woman, therefore i like to see men on ice.
2. You talked about not only Plushy's Vancouver program, you said he is yerk, therefore i wrote to you my previous comment. He isn't yerk.
3. Is Chan more interesting, than Plush? OMG. LOL!LOL!LOL! I would like to see, when screaming audience watch Chan! LOL!
4. I wouldn't learn the transitions, because i don't like it. ( continue)
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 1) It's jerk, not "yerk", and yes, Plushenko is an arrogant jerk.
2) LOL. Of course someone like you would only care about what the audience thinks about a skater. I have opinions about skaters because of the impression they leave on ME, I'm not some psychotic fan girl who favors skaters because of their looks and their fan base, thank you.
4) "I wouldn't learn transitions because I don't like it" Again, you wouldn't be able to tell a transition from a spin. ;)
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 He isn't jerk, you know other skaters like Plushenko. Evan said about him, he is a nice man! LOL! But you don't answer me, what do you think about these programs? /watch?v=NGanRnHVNIs&feature=related
/watch?v=TPLHGSA6cos
/watch?v=QAMATAtaVXc I'm really curious..You know, i love Plushenko because of his skating. His skating seduce me, i like to watch his every movement. What do you think, why do i love him? Why he has many fans all over the worlds? I wait your answer.
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 You think I would form an opinion on a skater without having watched them several times first? I don't need to watch whatever those videos show, I have seen just about every program Plushenko has done from his many, MANY years in competition. I'm not a fan of him, and yes, as incredible as it may sound to you I would take Chan's superior artistry and overall skating skills over Plushenko any day. Capiche? Quit straying away from Vancouver which arose this argument in the 1st place.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 If you don´t like a skater why do you spend your time posting comments on his videos and trying to convince the others that there are no reasons to like him? If you like other skaters go and watch them, you like Chan, watch Chan you are free and it does not sound incredible at all that you like him, I like him too, what it sounds incredible it´s to annoy us continuously with "NBC clichés", if I want to hear them I´ll search for Dick Button and Scott Hamilton, thank you!
SimonaCB 1 year ago 2
@SimonaCB Don't put words in my mouth, Simona. I have never tried convincing you or Lala to stop liking your favorite skater. I started an argument here in response to someone who was implying (again) that because Evan did not do a quad he shouldn't have won. And once again falsely stating that Evan could not do a quad when he has done so in the past and just did recently in FOI Japan. If you don't like my comments then by all means ignore them. Forums are not exclusive to positive comments.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Plushenko himself said that Evan can do a quad and he knows Evan better than us because they skated many times together during Champions on Ice.
SimonaCB 1 year ago
@SimonaCB Yes, I know, but Evan quad hadn't been consistent at that point and when you add the foot injury it would have simply been too much of a risk. He would have been put right out of contention for a gold medal had he fallen.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 True, forms are not exclusive to positive comments; but definitely NOT for your brainless, rude comments! Your comments in here to discredit Plushenko's quad in here is basically insulting FS! And your comments saying other people are psychotic, arrogrant, ugly, bullshxt, etc etc with no basis is NOT welcome! Once I saw you cussing I think the world knows who they are dealing with!
thequadlegend 1 year ago
@thequadlegend I'm discrediting Plushenko's quad? What the hell is wrong with you? I am simply saying that you have to have more than a quad to win. if that's all you're bringing to the competition and all your emphasis is on the jumps and you still WIN, then yes, I do think there is something wrong with that.
Evan won because he was the WHOLE package that NIGHT, and for that reason I believe his win was well deserved.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@thequadlegend Again playing the innocent here, aren't we? Weren't you the one that was calling Simona stupid and whatnot when you thought she wasn't on your side of the coin? Get your self righteous attitude out of here, you aren't fooling anyone.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 There's some misunderstanding on Simona's comments but we came to terms soon after that. At least I didn't accuse ppl being psychotic, and bullshxt and such like you do!
thequadlegend 1 year ago
@thequadlegend We also came to terms after that, and my calling other people names is nothing different from what you were doing. So once again, get the self righteousness out of here.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@thequadlegend Also, I never told anyone that they are shit, dog shit, or anything along those lines so don't put words in my mouth.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 there's no agruement that Plushenko is better skater in both technical merit and artistry. If Evan has a better agruement so his fans based wouldn't just be Americans, or Canadians. Plushenko took greater risk, and his quads put him in greater injuries, your so called agruement that IF the others didn't fall they should have won is plain oxymoron! Disappointed in Evans chickens out. That's why he is a joke and never be like the level of Plushenko.
thequadlegend 1 year ago
@thequadlegend I'm not saying Evan is the better skater, I am saying he was the best skater that night. Yes, Plushenko probably went there as the "best" skater, definitely the most experienced and whatnot, but Evan left with the Gold. Why? Because he had a harder program that was COP friendly and he was clean. Filled with transitions before the jumps to make it harder, his jumps had more flow, his spins and footwork were better, and he had better choreography. All Plushenko had was the quad.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 You've also mentioned Evans also played the new rules well. His programs are not harder, otherwise, there will not be an argument if he has a better argument. His scores were given too generously in his SP to be able to closely compete with Plushenko's. Furthermore, his skating is slow and the jumps were low and timid, therefore will not generate a great sensations like Plushenko.
thequadlegend 1 year ago 2
@thequadlegend Okay, well then tell why his program was NOT harder. Just because he didn't have a quad? I can already tell you that that is a poor argument.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 I didn't just say that, you came to judgment too quickly and being so rude, I will not response to that anymore! There's enough comments in here and please don't fool anyone to prove you are right.
thequadlegend 1 year ago
@thequadlegend Yes, you did say that, hon...Don't lie, please. ;] If you don't want to have a civilized argument, then fine. Bye.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Simona said well, i wrote those stories, because i used them as arguments. The americans said: -Evan better skater, than Evgeni- i wrote he is the most decorated champion. -he is a Jerk, arrogant ect.- i wrote he received incredible amount of gift. If he arrogant, why he got many gift?
- he is cocky- why he has so many fans all over the world, and why likes him the other skaters?
-his skating is only jump- he received a total of 75 6.0s in his career.
Do you understand?
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 So reading your first comment which I completely missed when I wrote my previous comments....I'll take that. You got tired of people calling Plushenko a jerk so you mentioned the gifts, how many people like his personality, etc. Ok, I'll acknowledge that I went a tad far too personal. I don't know Plushenko well enough to say he is a jerk in all aspects of his life, but I think it's safe to assume he was a bit too cocky for his own good during interviews. Fair?
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Yes, this is much better. I agree with him, but we don't start the debate. Chan is younger than Plush, he learn skate in the new system, and in American style. I like the russian style: very difficult jumps, elegant skating, ballet fundaments, charisma. I think this is the russian style, but this is my opinion. I watched Abbot's program in Nat Ch. He is far better, than Evan or Chan. But i don't like this style. The new system doesn't allow for variability. Do you understand me?No...
lala630312 1 year ago

If you want to know the true:

lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 I am prejudiced? I'm sorry, but you are the one who is insulting American skating in general. Saying that I'm prejudiced I am not fond of your favorite skater is a poor way of looking at things.
Your info is interesting, but I would've never known that Plushenko had taken ballet from his skating alone. He definitely does not show it in the way he skates.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Plushenko's style is not balletic. Johnny Wier talked once about this aspect and explained that is wrong to believe that the Russian style means only ballet and that in fact Plushenko presence on ice is very Russian even he is not skating to Tchaikovsky like a dancer from Balshoi. LOL!!!!
SimonaCB 1 year ago
@pinto89100 I think Plushenko skating in russian style, but he isn't like a dancer from Bolshoi, of course. But his movements shows the ballet fundaments. Did you watch the links?I think no, because you are don't curious for Plushenko, only you REPEAT the STEREOTIPICS, what the americans say about him, therefore i said, you are PREJUDICED. I read some belletdancer's messige to him( for example from Peru, lol), where they talked about his balletic fundaments.
lala630312 1 year ago
I´ve stopped long time ago to listen to what people say about Plushenko, both positive and negative things, the contradictions are so ridiculous that Plushenko can be at the same time a good skater and a bad skater, an arrogant person and a nice guy, an artistic skater and a jumping machine, etc. LOL!!!!
SimonaCB 1 year ago
@lala630312 You are so annoying. Try to be mature with this please. I SAW the info, I told you it was interesting, but plain and simple if you hadn't told me he'd done ballet, I would've never in a million years even considered it because the balletic fundamentals aren't there when he skates.
Do you even watch American men? I don't think you do. They're all slow, they all sway they're arms like crazy, etc? LOL, the only one who is prejudiced here is you, hon!
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Holy Cow!( i read from american girl, and i like it, LOL!) Am I annoying? You are arrogante! I read your comment to Buckley's vid, and i just say, the Evgeni's fans haven't problem with intelligence, but who enjoys Buckley....They have problem with his intelligence! I saw the North Am boys many times. I'm not prejudiced, only i don't like that style. /watch?v=LbbfflDE4PE&translated=1 This isn't Evgeni's vid, but is really interesting.
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 You are prejudiced because you insult a country's supposed "style" without having a clue what the style is. You just assume that all American skaters are slow, that they all have the same hand motions, etc, etc, when you more likely than not have yet to see more than three of them skate. It's all because you hate Evan, thus for whatever reason you need to hate all the other skaters from the country he represents. It's typical of many of you Plushenko fans (note: I did not say all).
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto8910 LOL! Plushenko isn't artistry. This is the american ignorance, the americans didn't watch, didn't know his skating!, they repeat this stupid thing than a parrot. You have ever seen: Carmen, Adagio, Moonlight Sonata, Tango and Flamenco, Tribut to Nijinsky, Gypsy dance. This is the most stupid thing what i heard in my entire life. I finish the argue with you, because what you said,ALSO YOU KNOW,THAT ISN'T TRUE. Why we speak each other, if you using isn't real arguments?
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 Totally agreed! Very rude for people just barb in and put insulting comments towards others especially they have NO real arguments and backbone! Try to insult people in almost all of her comments. Calling people prejudice while claiming the most technical element is not important rather than style(very subjective), footwork, and spin. As if an elite skater would not work his way to the most difficult quad jump, it just happens! So far I've only heard from Americans they said (con't)
thequadlegend 1 year ago
jump defines gold (performance), that's is just ridiculous! You see how dumb to say on a sport? But whatever they say, Plushenko is no doubt the Greatest Skater who set his own records and impact other skaters.
thequadlegend 1 year ago
@lala630312 "American ignorance, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." Oh, shut up. It's an opinion, period. Trust me, there are plenty of people who don't think Plushenko is artistic just as there are people who think he is, and as for the people who don't think he is, not all are Americans. I can guarantee you that. ;]
And yes, I HAVE seen all those programs, I have told over and over again that there isn't a Plushenko program I haven't seen. My opinion stays the same.

lala630312 1 year ago
@pinto89100 "he is not artistic or expressive" "there isn't a Plushenko program I haven't seen. My opinion stays the same"---- Well, the skater can perform "Sex bomb" with two encore and "Je suis malade" with standing ovations - but it doesn't mean that he is "artistic or expressive". He is just "charismatic and impressive"?)
He can express himself on ice, he can be different - that's why he is a great artist. That's my opinion!)
MrEvan75 1 year ago
@MrEvan75 I don't think that being charismatic automatically means you are artistic as well. I agree that Plushenko is full of charisma. he has a presence on the ice that others don't have; it demands the attention of every eye in the audience. That being said, I don't think that Plushenko is an artist on the ice. His talent is undeniable, but his programs have simply never moved me. That's just my opinion.
pinto89100 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@pinto89100 "...his programs have simply never moved me.That's just my opinion."---- Some people need some melodrama to be moved...
MrEvan75 1 year ago 17
@MrEvan75 LOL! Plushenko is no Russian ballet dancer on ice! He does not come off as artistic, balletic, or dramatic at all in a way that can move me in any shape or form. Sorry, it's my opinion. Just because I don't happen to be moved by your favorite skater's supposed "artistry" doesn't mean I don't understand art. It's all about a matter of opinion and preference. It's not my problem that you can't deal with that.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Really?)) Russian ballet dancers have other opinion. Smekalov and Mikhailovsky said that Plush is just a genius. "My favorite skater's supposed artistry" is obvious. You can be moved or not moved by his art or his charisma or something else - that changes nothing.

@lala630312 Hi! :) It's funny to deny obvious things. No arguments except for "He doesn't move me".
You know, Lambiel and his white roses don't move me, but how I can say that he has no artistry? Absurd!
MrEvan75 1 year ago
@MrEvan75 Plushenko doesn't move me. Simple as that. Is this concept too difficult for you to understand? I'm not going to agree with you on Plushenko having artistry if he can't keep me interested in his programs, if he can't bring me to watch his videos over and over again because of how moving they are (which for me they just aren't).
That he is a very talented skater is ridiculous to argue, of course he is. However, there is nothing ludicrous of questioning his artistry.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 I've already understood that he doesn't move you lol So what?! I never re-watch Cohen's vids, but she is an artist - no doubt! Artistry is not just a matter of opinion. If it was so, how the judges could estimate it?
Plush is talented in his technique and in his artistry as well. Any role, any image - he can perform it with great success.
MrEvan75 1 year ago
@MrEvan75 Yes, it is a matter of opinion. That's why figure skating fans aren't always going to be on the same page when it comes to artistry. Bad technique to good technique isn't debatable. If you know enough about skating you should know the difference. Artistry, however, IS debatable.
Whether the skater has artistry or not is also a matter of opinion when it comes to the judges. if artistry didn't count in FS, then there would be no controversies.
IMO Plushenko lacks artistry. Move on.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 Yes, judging is often controversial but Plush never had any problems with his artistry. lala630312 is right)))
Everything in FS is debatable. Wrong edges, technique levels etc. Artistry is more questionable, of course. But it's not just a matter of a subjective opinion, there are some criteria. Think or read a little - what are those criteria - and you will see.
"IMO Plushenko lacks artistry."--- You should say "IMHO", because your opinion is very, very humble LOL
MrEvan75 1 year ago
@MrEvan75 "IMHO" LOL! Humble! YES, VERY, VERY HUMBLE!!
dorca000 1 year ago
@MrEvan75 His supposed "artistry" is all a matter of opinion. It is not a fact. Just like what I say changes nothing in your mind, what you say changes nothing in mine. I was a ballet dancer and having followed it for many years. the quality is simply not there in Plushenko's skating. You want to see balletic skaters; look at Mao, Sasha, and so forth. Their polished, finished positions and body line are things I fail to see in Plushenko.
pinto89100 1 year ago
@pinto89100 What do you think, what is the GREATEST skater? This is my opinion:
1- has own style
2- can do the difficult jumps-and the skater can does it in competition!
3- the skating is artistry, impressive, entertaining-diverse!
3- good spins, footwork(as Jag's in Winter or Plush's in M.Jackson medley, ect)
4- charisma or charm,
5- skating is impact on people.
I forgot something? ( This vid is also interesting : /watch?v=WQntaCIU5pg&feature=watch_response)
lala630312 1 year ago
@lala630312 I agree, but here's why I don't think Plushenko is the greatest skater CURRENTLY:
1) he is not artistic or expressive.
2) his spins are a weakness and I would be a fan of his footwork if he wouldn't pause and pose all the time.
3) while jumping without transitions going into them to make them harder may have worked during his time, it won't work for him anymore
