If anything, I think Axl was just showing that he's comfortable talking publicly about his former band mate to the point where he can mention him by name while relating a funny anecdote about times gone by. You never know, clips like this one just might be part of the healing process that lead to a one-off of the Appetite-era lineup at the band's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame introduction. "It's up in the air", according to Axl in the latest Rolling Stone.

@69DudeMeister From what I have viewed, Izzy played with Guns in 2006 and also played with Velvet when they were around. Izzy would probably be fine with it.
I think a tour with the classic lineup is expecting WAAAYYY too much. A few songs at their Hall of Fame ceremony would be a good place to start though. I really wouldn't wish for too much beyond that. If it's not meant to be then it's just not meant to be. And, I'm cool with that. I'd hate to see them embarrass themselves with a full on tour if it's clear they've lost the plot since Farm Aid 1990. Steve's still alive & well with Adler's Appetite and sounding better than ever.

I didn't see it that way. If anything, I think Axl was just showing that he's comfortable talking publicly about his former band mate to the point where he can mention him by name while relating a funny anecdote about times gone by. You never know, clips like this one just might be part of the healing process that lead to a one-off of the Appetite-era lineup at the band's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame introduction. "It's up in the air", according to Axl in the latest Rolling Stone.

I think a tour with the classic lineup is expecting WAAAYYY too much. A few songs at their Hall of Fame ceremony would be a good place to start though. I really wouldn't wish for too much beyond that. If it's not meant to be then it's just not meant to be. And, I'm cool with that. I'd hate to see them embarrass themselves with a full on tour if it's clear they've lost the plot since Farm Aid 1990. Steve's still alive & well with Adler's Appetite and sounding better than ever.

i can't believe there's a guy here saying that Izzy is more responsible for the songs nd music. i get why most ppl hate axl, but give the devil his due! the dude is a genius, axl is responsible more for the great songs like Sweet Child, Don't Cry, estranged and others! everyone keep saying that gnr is nothing without the rest of the guys, and hey i'm not saying wat axl did was right, but gnr wouldn't be anything without axl either! no one can match his voice and sing the songs the way he does.

@ElAlistair I'm not a huge Axl fan, he so talks too much. But, you do realize he's the only original member of the band still in Guns N' Roses, right? He didn't get kicked out, all the others left. Look up newgnr.com. Axl's pretty much the pompus God of Guns N' Roses. They just finished a tour right before Christmas with BLS, Axl was as usual front center on his foam covered microphone, doing the bazaar Rose shuffle.
