The bones of Castelnau were unearthed in 1890 at Castelnau, France in a Neolithic tumulus by Anthropologist Georges Vacher de Lapouge. They were studied at Montpellier University and examined by Doctor Paul Kiener, and several other anatomists who agreed they were human.

At the same note, wikipedia has not deleted the article on the fossil giant because it is sourced by a peer review journal of science, and news paper reports. So who knows.
