  • At last i get the playlist in the video. When you full screnn 16 lecutres. Good to know how much time i need to spend

  • is this good for a high schooler to watch or should wait for college? I'm in 11th grade.

  • @souasazzz im also in 11th grade if you understand and if you are passionate about robotics then hay do it.

  • Good one

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • Anybody know where one can get the lecture notes?

  • So when are we going to fight wars with these?

  • great just one word its Great

  • Sadly, can't have access to the Lecture Notes.

  • around 37:00 I think he means 'moment of' inertia

  • i'm too lazy to go back to school, thank goodness for these vids @_@

  • free is for the win

  • Helpful video thanks

  • Hi, which modelling software is this?

  • hi i'm from Thailand , i want you to upload more video about Civil engineering . i really need them . thank you

  • hi i'm from Thailand , these lectures is very good , but i want you upload more lectures about Civil Engineering , i really need them . thank you .

  • Is this a UG course?

  • Daft Punk should also be there!

  • I'm a freshman in highschool, and I'm currently taking a robotics course. But getting to know how to program, the robot( we use Scorbot ER V's) Wire, learn about proxy sensors, light curtains, and how to take it apart and rebuild it, is fascinating. Our teacher is a MSU grad, and is amazing at what he does. We just got a couple of FANUC bots, from a GM plant, and were fixing em up, and planning on using them next year. Its somthing you actually need to study, and try out to get, but its all fun.

  • l'm looking forward to learning more about robotics. However, producing an exact replica of a human being is stupid. Maybe for people that are extremly lonely. But, for me, my dream is to create an ease for human beings in everyday life that produces what you want, period.

  • 9 humans disliking need to be replaced by 9 robots

  • 8 dislikes must be an ass holes

  • am I the only one that cannot see this video completely? it freezes at 37:04 =S

  • i was inspired by this video about robotics and now i think i love robotics but what course should i take in college? I'm from the asia and there is no robotics course in my country only mechanical engineer and also i want to know about the program so please tell me what course should i take.. tnx...prof..

  • @shichibukai500 electronics, computer science, physics supplement with youtube videos?

  • I am so excited !

    That stuff is fantastic !!!

    I wish I was on a Robotics course !!

I've wasted so many years and now it's probably too late but at least as a hobby I intend to develop in that direction.

    Fantastic !!!

Hope to find more of such stuff online.

  • @grimsailor Why is it too late? I've "wasted" many years as well, and I'm going to start studying robotics now after a masters degree in Chinese, and working as a teacher for several years!

  • oh shyt!!! SKYNET IS HERE!

  • is this for a freshman class?

  • I'm pretty good at building robots, and I'm wanting to build an arm to cover over my hand or arm. I know the basic building and programming of robots, but I'm not sure how to build a mechanical hand. I know I could build one that doesn't have a human limb inside of it, but having one inside seems difficult. It's hard finding info online. Any suggestions for building?

  • @her498 how'd you get started in learning?

  • This is going to help me with Engineering/ Robotics Club next year in high school, I hope!

  • This is awesome. Thanks to all who generate amazing info like this and make it so accessible.

  • great !!! thank you for the videos :-)

  • Seems interesting until you see the forward kinematics equations. What previous maths skill would be nessesary to better understand the tutorials.

  • I plan on majoring in robotics eventually, hopefully i won't get lost in this lecture. Thanks.

  • Thank You :D

  • Is this course free? where can i download the notes he talked about?

    where are the other courses?

  • @zrk9a

    1. Yes, the course is free.

    2. In the Google search box type: Oussama Khatib introduction to robotics. The first link will bring you to the complete course material for download at the bottom of the page.

    3. In the playlist on right side of the present YouTube page there are 16 videos that can be watched. The videos are also available at the iTunes store (free) for download by typing: Introduction To Robotics (by Oussama Khatib), in the search box.

  • could u please tell wht r the prerequisites of the course. and wht mathematical knowledge is required....

  • @holyvincent420

not much mathematics is reqd just u just knw dot product and multiplication of matrices

  • @holyvincent420

    not so gr8 math reqd

just u wud need to know hw to take dot product of vectors and simple matrix multiplications r must to be knwn

  • @holyvincent420 it's in the syllabus . see if you can find it online. maybe this is opencourseware like MIT.

  • I dont know If I could ever goto Stanford, I realy wish I could. This is awesome and very informative ...thank you very much for uploading ......great work

  • it can be better

  • Intro class should be basic as possible b/c u dont know every students level of knowledge, so it good to start with the very basic. Learning is the whole point of college

  • This introduction is really interesting with some important trends and experiences in Robotics. The lecture is not dificult to follow but it is useful for the beginner.

  • Although I suppose it may help you avoid double negatives.

  • Obviously you are just jealous.

Especially because of the superiour handwriting of those students who get accepted by these schools.

My girlfriend goes to Cambridge, guess what: Her parents are poor as hell, living in a small flat, she's just high intelligence and self-motivation.

Cambridge supports students even when it comes to payment of living costs and acommodation.

The education is excellent and EVERY student gets supervision by elder students and professors.

  • you're burnt dude

  • great lecture by a great professor.

    he is awsome

  • Its really O.K. (Oussama Khatib).........!

  • @kingrion dang dats pretty harsh

  • @kingrion you demolished that guy like he's a sheet of messed up paper

  • what's the name of the stimulator?

  • Oh really thanks for Stanford, the best university of the world.

  • Thanks Stanford!

  • Thanks Stanford I really love robotics.

  • Thanks for lecture. I study Robotics in Technical University of Sofia in Bulgaria.

  • Thanks Stanford. ^.^

  • Thak you very VERY much, Stanford! <3

  • thank you stanford....

  • Thank you very much.

  • I wish I could get into Stanford. Not because of this lecture, but because I want the name on my resume. lol

I'm 18. Maybe I'll be there in grad school for EE.

    Thanks a lot, Stanford.

  • Thanks

  • A free lecture about robotics. Viewers should thank Stanford University.

  • Thanks alot Stanford. Robotics is a field I'd like to work in one day. Very American of you to post this because I think it's a great service for society...many thanks.

  • Very interesting.

  • thanks a lot stanford............univ of reading UK student

  • Does anyone know what is the software he is using in that demonstration?

  • Thank you so much, it is really useful to me and to us! Thank you, Stanford!

  • this is exelent

  • Thanks for interesting

  • interesting indeed...

  • Thanks for the vid!!! I'm in a robotics club so this is very helpful!

  • Very cool. Thanks Stanford!

  • wow,this is very good~~

  • this is very helpful, too bad only less than 10000 people have seen it.

  • but if you think about it, (now) over thirteen thousand people HAVE SEEN IT, who (presumably) wouldn't have enrolled in the class at Stanford. and that's kinda cool.

  • wow

  • Very helpful. How nice of Stanford to release their courses!

  • thx for you and hope to get more course in mechanical department like computer integret manufacture and other subject
