As a rule I don't like cover versions, but there are some shining (excuse the pun!) examples! I do like alot of Ash stuff, but I wasn't struck on shining light. However Annie's version is fabulous, I can listen to it over and over again. Well done Annie, you really are one in a billion. Love ya!

I heard this song in a restaurant last night. I didn't know who it was so I looked up the lyrics on google. I listened to the Ash version first, but it wasn't the right one and I didn't like it at all. I like Annie's version much better. I understand it's a cover of Ash's original, so I can't say it's better, but I think she definitely did a great job with it.

I'm not taking her fame away from her and i know shes a great singer .. it just Ash do this song so much better :) It just Tim has a unique voice suited for this song seeing that he wrote it :) Although i'm not taking anything away from Annie Lenox, has sold alot of albums and has great fame, but remember music isn't all about that ^^ Ash have also written their fair share of classic songs :)
