    yaaaay

    thanks

  • awesome vid dude ants rule................if only there like soldiers and they can fly airplanes and use helicpoters

  • that is great!! So BigDotMedia this question is for you.....have you ever been able to capture any bulldog ants, they are really aggressive. Is this true?

  • I have captured a bulldog ant, yes. They are very aggressive and they watch you and know your there - it's very weird. They have a painfull bit, something like a bee sting from my experience. Normally they are about 5-6cm long.

  • Crazyhobo69, I converted a dust buster into an ant catcher. Basicly is sucks the ants up from within their tunnels into a small container with soft padding - like a tissue. Once its turned on, I place the device over an ant hole/nest and it sucks all the ants up. If the collony is new the tunnels will not be very deep and therefor the device works well.

  • thats a brilliant method!

ive been trying to catch my ants for ages. the ones in england were a lot easier than these aussie ants for some reason

  • hey how did u get the ants expecialy the qeen?

  • @crazyhobo69 matting season. Get some cotton buds and pick the queen up (no wings) and put her into a test tube. If you know how to add water into the test tube thats a long term solution for her but otherwise the catch is the first part.

  • Yes, I think thats the species.

The queen died about 2 weeks after shooting this video and the rest just died within 2-3 days after that. I feed the fly's - maybe a fly was posioned or something.

  • I'm guessing a species of Irodomyrmex.

  • @nanoguy4098 Yes, I believe so.
