To much talking at the start and loose the music and sound effects. People need videos like this but they don't visit to hear BS. Aside from all the crap you explained yourself well. Thanks.
Buy a sensor from the dealer. Those OEM sensors from Pep Boys and Auto Zone are crap. My mom bought a Bosch from Auto Zone and it was DOA. Bought a Mopar from the Chrysler dealer and it worked just fine. The dealer sensor was only $5 more than the Bosch.
A few hours to clear the code... that long? I disconnected the battery, turned the ignition (like trying to start), then reconnected the battery and the code was gone.
I recently changed my pre-cat o2 sensor and since i did my engine boggles and wants to stall. It didn't do that before with the old sensor. I changed the sensor because it was giving me a code.
You fucking rule my brother ! I hate all the dishonest mechanicas and politicians that are just trying to screw people up. You just made a lot of shity mechanics mad....ha ha
does not matter if your o2 goes that means you have to find out why, and depends on what bank and if its the up or down stream, but i recomend you to change your cat
Great video! I have a question. I replaced front o2 sensor on 01 corolla. Right after that Engine start smoking and I can smell the burning smell. What could it be?
open ended wrenches tend to slip and can give you a bit of trouble you can get 02 sensor sockets for about 10 bucks a go worth investing esp if your going to do home repairs
You probably need to replace the valve cover gaskets. These are the rubber pieces on the bottom of the spark plug holes. Chances are you will also need to replace the wires as well if the oil has drenched them to the point of malfunction. You have no acceleration because your engine is misfiring. Your spark plugs are not working right due to the oil. Poor spark plugs, poor ignition, poor acceleration. A whole engine tune up might be something to consider. This is a DIY job with some research.
Your Cool Man! But I recommend, in the future always connect the Sensor Thermal End to the exhaust pipe first, then connect the electrical end. Reason being, you don't want to twist up the Sensor wires in the processs or when it comes time to tighten up the Sensor Thermal End onto the exhaust pipe. Once again keep up the good instructional work. I really dug the background music.
I'm in the exact same boat man. I own a 98 Ford Taurus Station Wagon and I've decided that I'm way too cheap to pay mechanic anymore so I'm learning how to do everything myself using youtube and the vehicle repair guide section of autozone's website. I'm also lucky enough to have free online access to Chilton's repair manuals via my public library. I'm trying to take care of some O2 sensor woes right now...
Sweet!!!!

I would screw the sensor in the catalytic converter, BEFORE connecting the wire ;-)
