  • @shawnio . Your a tool. Classic game room review of turbografx controller was awesome. Have you ever wondered what a person from 2012 would think of 1990's tech, particularly tech that you played in the 90's, but if it were new to them? That is what this video is about. To most, it's a pointless video, but to a classic gameroom fan, it's their childhood. ..and to the young, totally apathetic, it's could have been their childhood.

  • If you really need to rely on that arrow to tell you this, you shouldnt even be playing this to begin with!!!!

    EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how the hell can you upload a 6 minute video about the freaking gamepad, dude I suggest you find a woman

  • @shawnio this is called a review, this is what youtube is for. If you are unaware of what a review is, then it's clear that you havent even seen a pussy.

  • @frozenintears LMAO

  • it has one control port cause only people with no frinds had a turbografx.......probably why i still play mine today!!!

  • @purozepatla, You hit it right on the nose!!! My top 2 most collected together with Nes makes for an easy top 3 greatest of all time. :)

  • TurboGrafx-16, Neo Geo for life.

  • The TG-16 actually has an 8bit CPU, but it's still awesome! :)

  • is the game on a floppy disc!?!?

  • @GodsNotReal95 it's more like a nintendo ds cartridge i think

  • @aglewi41 oh well then i saw pics and there way to thin to have a battery so thats flash memory. but i thought flash memory was still kinda a prototype back then

  • I want to donate something just to get a shout-out on the show.

  • John from Wisconsin is awesome!

  • i am sure someone has already said this, but it bugs the crap outta me. the TG16 is an 8-bit system with a "16 bit" graphics chip. don't get me wrong, i love my Turbo, but back in the day this was a touchy subject and the people that didn't know, said it was a 16 bit console, but the people that did know, were amazed that and 8 bit console could kick so much ass! some of my favorite games ever are on this system Ys book I & II never looked or played better and ninja spirit & splatter house rock!

  • The Turbopad is my favorite gamepad of all time.Genesis controller was garbage compared to this.It had an extra button button after use the Genesis pads would squeak.

  • BLAZING LAZARZ!

  • I love buttons like that with the little dimples in the middle, kinda like the candy smarties. I love pressing my thumb into the dimples on smarties *has orgasm in chair*

  • Hopefully at E3 2011 or something Hudson will mention plans for the Turbo Hyper Mega Super Alpha Xtreme A-spec Turbografx-16 32x. And maybe Sega will finally announce the sequel to Cosmic Carnage as well.

  • they made a succesor i forgot what it's called look it up on wikipedia i would like to see a reveiw of that

  • I wish they would of called it the MAXIGRAFX-16, so then Mark would be reviewing a MAXIPAD.

  • @TheAb0rtionist dohoho

  • HEY, thats the music my parents play on christmas day! what does it mean...

  • the turbo grapx is techinquely not 16 bit its actualy 8 bit but did something with the grachis to make it look like its 16 bit but it's not

  • @p41k0 uuuh you sure know it's an awesome console with awesome games?

  • "Like Charles"

Could that be a LOST reference ?

  • DIES THIS SH!T EVEN WORK? I guess 'run' button is to run away from this sh1t console :D

  • @p41k0 Nah, its a good console with some good games. The Japanese library of games on this system is much bigger though.

  • Comment removed

  • 0:01 to skip advertisement

  • PC-Engine is way better. Much broader selection of games.

  • Love the videos! You should do a review of the TG-16 Console!

  • TURBO HYPER MEGA SUPER ALPHA XTREME A-SPEC TURBO GRAFX16 32x

  • U should be startled that its not really 16 bit to its only 8 bits but a more powerful 8 bit compared to the 2600 and nes. Like how genesis is 16 bits and the snes is also but the snes looks better

  • what do those levers do on the upper right of the turbopad?

  • There is an accessory called the 'Turbotap' to add up to 5 controllers to the Turbografx-16. In true 16-bit era style, it's half the size of the Console.

  • anyone remember the jaguar, 3do, and 32x, they looked the same to me in graphics.

or what about the virtual boy, thinking of if it, i never laughed so hard in my life, that was the biggest flop ever.

  • These aren't your Dad's pads.

    These are TURBOPADS!

  • you know whats sad, the fact I didn't even knew some video game SYSTEMS exitsted until I started whatching CGR

  • Turbo Hyper

  • sounds like an infomercial music, but never the less a great review.

  • What's with the soft-porn music?

  • @slidefacekill LOL? O.O''

BTW, wats the wost game console ever?

  • @ExForceFire the Atari 5200 lololol

  • @Okofo2 why lololol? im really not formiller with game consoles... im more of a PC mmo type person...

  • @ExForceFire im saying lololol because the Atari 5200 is a laugthing matter

  • @Okofo2 i just watched the review... the controller is a FAT mobile phone lol...

  • @Okofo2 its not really, its just not that popular

  • i love the ending lol

  • i remember that thing

  • cut the music on the back... dont like it... review as before.. without music..

  • The TG16's mascot was bonk the caveman who also appeared on the nintendo consoles.

  • The TG16 was awsome...

  • i got this from my grandma along time ago and now i decide to play it and I dont hav the ANT switch for it! i cant find one anywhere! also i had a bunch of games and lost them and now only hav 3: bonks adventure, blazing lazers, and keith courage in alpha zones. i bet they are fun to play! :(

  • ihad a turbo grafx sinse it came out

  • you forgot Type R!

  • @louiearmstrong its rtype

  • Hey Mark, the TG16 did indeed have an adapter to plug in more controllers. In fact, the majority of games had 2-player options, and many were 2 player only. There were also quite a few 4-player games as well.

  • I use to have a TG 16 but didn't really play it since I couldn't find games for it when I bought at it a garage sale, I wish I still had it.

  • They should make a turbopad for 360 and the PS3

  • is DIS FOR EEEXBAWWX TREESIXTEE?

  • A Turbografx!? Nice work Classic Game Room and have a nice day. XD

  • the famous duck-tape is back

  • 32X :D :D :D great!

  • I heard some TaeBo music in this review.

  • Brilliant! You're one strange yet possibly brilliant man.

  • Except without "possibly"!

  • BEST ENDING EVER.

  • Nope, the TB16/PCE is a 8-bit system but it has a fast processor so its almost as strong as a Genesis.

  • Regardless of the cpu, it's part of the 16bit generation consoles (because of the two 16bit graphic chips). Before SNES came along, TG16 and Genesis were duking it out as to who was the better 16bit console of that era. Most bets were on the NEC console, but Sega made a surprise leap ahead with many awesome arcade titles for the time. :D

  • "Almost"?! lol :P

The Turbografx/PC Engine was on absolute equal footing as the Genesis/Mega Drive. It's 8bit processor was extremely fast and it had two 16 bit processors. In any case, the "bit" count wars of the time were ridiculous. The TG-16 in many cases out did the Genny and the SNES.

All the 16bit systems have their pros and cons, though.

    The TG R.O.C.K.S.! :D

    OBEY!

  • Exactly, even if the TG16 is a 8-bit system they really pushed it to its limit.

Im a hugh SNES fan, but i also love the TG16 and MD/Gen becouse they really made unique and fun games.

consoles doesnt need HD graphics to make good games.

    Thanks for your reply.

  • When going over the actual controller features, ie buttons, etc, the music in the background sounds like a porn flick. XD

  • Well..I guess that is a true gamer, not caring about story, playing the same thing for hours without any kind of progression.

  • great review

  • I'm looking forward to an extensive TurboGrafx-16 study.

  • What's the 2 switches for?

  • turbo you buttfuck, he teels you in the beginning, just watch the video fool!

  • it's turbo for each button...

  • Turbo, you stupid asshole

  • Relax, and take your ritalin.

  • Great Review

  • Never got the chance to play one as a kid. In recent months (mostly due to Wii's virtual console), I got to see it for real.

Man, I got cheated when I was kid! This system is awesome.

  • I miss the PC Engine.

    Shooter Heaven.

  • I like the ending, but you forgot "Ultra".

  • The Turbografx-16 competed with Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, not nearly as successful though.

  • dude, you need to wiki that shit right now.

  • Whats the intro tune called or from which song? I mean the song playing in the red screen with the white letters "classic gameroom Modern review .."

  • It's an arranged version of the old CGR theme used in 2007 & 2008.

  • What happend to your awsome theme music?

  • These game companies should not focus somuch on trying to squeeze extra money out of extra adapters, controller ports, proprietary connectors and the like. They need to focus on putting out amazing GAMES. Amazing games will sell the console which in turn sells even more games, with a nice license fee attached to each game sale. Nice to see standarized SD and USB conectors for newer consoles now, no need to keep reinventing the wheel to make your customers spend more on accessories NOT GAMES.

  • The arrow is indicating thet this side is up, even though it owuld lok like it may indicate which direction to insert it. About one controller port, that's an epic fail on their part. I'm sure they were ready to press out millions of these and figured the cost savings of a few extra cents per unit would add up to some real savings and keep the price of the system down, but c'mon, a second port on there is too important. They want to sell you the 4 player addon, the cd upgrade, and others.

  • hahaha, great end

  • The only other sad sale I had was selling my SNES and all it's games for a brand new (at the time, and not even out yet) N64.

While the N64 was alright (and great for specific games in it's library), I still miss having my favorite console of all time.

One redeeming factor that makes it not as bad at the TG sale is the fact that I knew the owner of the store I sold it to. He gave me $250 which was way too much AND camped out the night before it launched to make sure I got one.

    Great guy, eh?

  • Finally, I've been waiting to see if you would do this. I haven't even watched the video yet. I'm too excited. Plus, it's my birthday today (Jan 30th) and I'm now 25.

I sold my TG-16 and all it's game for a complete series of X-Men cards from a particular year and set.

Worst decision I've ever made. I was like 10 and my brother had given me the TG-16. Little did I know how rare it was in the US (effectively). I loved the system but always assumed I would get it again later.

    Nope =(

    Bday gift?

  • TurboGrafx aka pc engine is in fact a 8 bit console while the US name of it wants you to believe it is a 16 bit.

  • It is an 8-bit system, but who cares? A 7MHz 6502 is an extremely fast processor, which surpasses even MegaDrive's 68000 on general logic operations and easily takes the load of integrated advanced peripherials, such as a massive bank switcher, the graphics unit which pretty much matches the systems of the 16-bit era, and a very interesting sound architecture which sounds very much like HivelyTracker or GAX, the leading softsynth engine for GBA.

  • @michelkage

The graphics chip is 16-bit. There is nothing wrong with calling it 16-bit, or 16-bit graphics.

If you want to be technically, you could say that the Sega Genesis is 32-bit.

  • Thanks for your information.

  • Turbo Hyper Mark

  • at the end he forgot to write ultra

  • Turbo Hyper Mega Super Alpha Xtreme A-Spec Ultra TurboGrafx16 32x CD 64 Master System HD 2600 Color Advanced 360

  • Congrats mark i didn't know you had a TG16 as well.I'm a owner myself and i have a mix of u.s and jpn TG16 games.

Btw there are people at the pcenginefx forums that can do a region mod on the TG16 ^_~

  • I have one of these in my basement, I don't think I have any controllers for it though.

  • your the best reviewer ever, i watch your videos even the ones i would normal not even care about :P

  • I FREAKIN' LOVE BLAZING LAZERS

  • My parents decided to get the Genesis for my bday back in the early 90's. Im glad because this didnt last very long, I remember playing one at Service Merchandise....That year I got a Huffy White Heat 12 speed!!! Bright green with"scrub guards" and all :p

  • Well more like part of it was neon green.

  • review classic gameboy next ok...!

  • All that about the TurboPad and nothing about its most important flaw, the insanely short controller cord?

I mean yeah, it is a good controller, comfortable and well designed. But that cord... awful! They're like three feet long... you basically either need to have an extender or have the system right in front of you.

  • Forgot Vectrex after 32x.

  • tur´bo: 1. Any one of numerous marine gastropods of the genus Turbo or family Turbinidæ, usually having a turbinate shell, pearly on the inside, and a calcareous operculum.

so why do the use the word turbo, this has nothing remotely turbo like on it.

  • I expected Turbo Hyper Classic Game Room to be All Turbo Hyper...

  • I was playing Gunhed (Blazing Lazers) early today. Awesome game. But the US Hucard designs suck compared to the Japanese PC Engine designs.

  • What happened to the Edison cylinder show? Run out of cylinders to play?

  • lol!!! sounds like soapy/elevator music in the background!

  • ROFL @ end! :)

  • TURBO HYPER MEGA SUPER ALPHA XTREME A-SPEC TURBO GRAFX 16 32X!!!

I so totally want one! =0

  • Why didn't you put the Roman Numeral 2 from Street Fighter II?

  • Thanks John!

  • lol the controller plug looks like the end of a midi cable

  • It certainly came out in the 16-bit era, but isn't it 8-bit at its core?

  • One of my favorite controllers of all time. That background music fit perfectly.

  • Loved the ending.

You forgot ultra deluxe supreme at the end though.

  • You forgot about deluxe!

  • DAMN! I always wanted a TurboGraFX and you get one for free! dang it looks hella clean! keep up the good work!

  • Turbografx 16 mascot is Keith Courage.

  • turbo hyper mega super alpha xtreme a-spec Turbo grapfix

    xDD

  • adding all those descriptions at the end reminded me of something a friend and i made up a year or 2 ago, it is basically all the nintendo/sony/microsoft consoles (and handhelds) combined. "super ps wii 364 cubed portable light boy micro DsSp 3". wouldnt that be an awesome console to own? it could play everything!

  • @l2pie

    Even the Vectrex?

  • @Johnny

    sure why not?

  • lol I can't wait for TURBO HYPER Classic Game Room!

  • LOL @ the end

  • I had a TG 16. It was OK I guess but I sold it and got a Genesis. Is this thing even really 16-bit? I thought it had 2 8-bit processors or something.

  • 32x lol

  • I just realized that the TG16 game pad port is identical to the Model 1 Genesis and Master System AV port. Weird....

  • PS/2 port for controller, weird

  • thanks jon

  • ITS TURBO TIME

  • i believe it also stands for Donkey Pad or Diarrhea Pad. whichever make the most sense at the time.

    look it up.

  • why i'ts called d pad ?

  • Directional Pad

  • It stands for Digital pad.

  • lol..it stands for directional pad* and it is digital.

  • digital pad

  • the mascot is bonk from bonks adveture 1 2 and 3 which ar realy good side scrollers

  • its totally a mouse port

  • No, it's a PS/2 port. ;)

  • @santoro2020

Would that controller work as a mouse or something since its ps/2 port? that wuld be interesting....

  • Sorry it looked similar to a mouse port/

  • Has he ever reviewed the system? I wanna see that! Controller reviews kind of bore me sorry.

  • Blazing Lazers= one of the best shooters ever!!!

  • awsome, you finally got yourself a turbo grafx. Whats next: The Jaguar or 3DO

  • he has a jaguar

  • oh boy jaguar .....

  • Fuck yes, you've got a TG16? I'm just about to recieve one in the mail.

  • WTH is a turbografx 16 iv never heard of it

  • @droids75 it was a 16 bit console to compete with genesis and super nintendo but it wasn't really that popular among the 3

  • @droids75

It's too bad it never caught on that big, it was pretty impressive when it came out.....

It had some really good games too, check it out!

  • yeah video takes way too long to load might want to cutt back on the HD dude.

  • Go to your account, access playback settings, select "I have a slow connection. Never play higher-quality video."
