  • Yes you are right we all have a right to protest. Maybe we should go to there back door and figure out what we can protest. These 2 guys disturb me there story seems so vague. NO you do not have a right to protest on private property.

  • This is actually a very good interview. Of course, I like the fact that they're critical of Massey and mostly positive about the activists. But all of that aside, it's interesting to hear the story from their unique perspective as security on the scene.

  • Tree huggers should just stay away before you cause another Blair mountain war.. To All Tree Huggers You are warned once! and Once Is all you will get the 2nd time might lead to a war. Fuck OFF

  • FUCK TREE HUGGERS..

  • We need real men like you two in Kentucky. Two treesitters get fined $50,000 for tresspassing...meanwhile Frasure Creek Mining company only gets fined $10,000 for blowing a boulder into someone's house. Where is the justice? These men are standing for something when most folks fall for anything....Thank you Gentlemen..You make me proud to be an American.

  • anywhere else in America, a boulder blown into someone's house would cause national outrage. not enough press about the beautiful mountaintops

  • These guys are true "Friends of America"

    Thank you for your bravery!!!

  • You guys are hero's for speaking out.

  • Why are there no other jobs there? Why doesn't someone open factories and make something so people can be employed? It seems odd to me that there are no other jobs there. Massey must want it to be that way. Does Massey have the right to keep other businesses out of the state? It sounds like that's what they are doing.

  • i agree. sounds like coal is in control.

  • Thank you for telling your story!!

  • Thank you for speaking out!

  • I really, really admire these guys for speaking out about the injustices going on in West Virginia with the coal companies.

  • There is a project called Coal River Wind that wants to put a wind farm on Coal River Mountain instead of blowing it up for coal like Massey wants to. Support it and spread the word!

  • Great to see you guys speaking out, many thanks and bravo!

As for alternatives: coal currently provides (roughly) half of the electricity generated in this country. Wind power still only provides a very small percentage (2 or 3 percent I think?). But as of last year the wind industry now employs more people than coal nationwide. And the overall cost of wind is far cheaper than coal.

  • truthtellers! thanks for your courage and please keep following your hearts. we need people like you out there and there are ways this will be positive for you despite the obvious risks.

  • Thank God for you guys!

  • Thank you for having the courage to stand up for your beliefs and for speaking out about it!

  • These two men are a lesson in courage to speak out in Coal Country against the "Mafia" Massey Energy.
