  • Winston churchill is my hero.:D

  • This man was simply a giant in the history of Western Civilization, and represents much of what is finest in the British people. He is also the only non-American after whom a United States Navy vessel has been named since the Revolutionary War. The USS Churchill, a guided missile destroyer, proudly bears the name of him who also is an honorary citized of the United States as well as a hero to the British.

  • We had homefield advantage in this one, a heavy bomber from Germany shot down = 6 - 8 dead airmen/POW's, one Hurricane/Spitfire shot down, one wet airman swimming back to Dover.

And lets all give a round of applause to the Great British weather, we may hate you each day of our daily lives yet you saved us from the Nazi Warmachine leaping the channel.

I think WWII should have been a warning for Argentina/Al Queda/Gadaffi, you do not mess with us for you have brought a fury like no other

  • who disliked this?

  • @VelocityHidden probably a nazi lol

  • Without the Battle of Britain, there would not now be a free World. God Bless Sir Winston Churchill and every SINGLE member of the Armed & Reserved forces during WWII. Without these people, we would all be in fascist states. For what it's worth, thank you all.

  • 500 men saved the world...don't forget it

  • @LondonBombs1 And other Allies, like the Ghurkas and the ANZACs who fought with Great Britain and the USA.

  • The most inspirational speech ever, by the most inspirational statesman the United Kingdom has ever known.

  • @SuperPrivate2011 he is nothing than a power hunger war criminal

  • @SyberiaDreams If you believe that, you are National Socialist scum and should be locked away for the safety of humanity, as you are clearly not a member of the human race yourself.

  • @SuperPrivate2011 In the history of mankind ,never been a man to love war and to promote everything by war ,this man was drunk everytime and only thing he liked was war .He was a prisoner in the Boer War, a controversial strategist in the Great War. He was the rallying voice of the Second World War, and a prophet of the Cold War. there doesn't seem to have been a war—or an opportunity for war—that Churchill wasn't associated with during his long career.

  • @SyberiaDreams That doesn't mean that he was no the greatest British statesman of the 20th Century, and the single biggest factor (among many) in the defeat of Facism and Nazism and the continuation of the free World.

  • @TimBrewin churchill have different opinion "The war wasn´t only about abolishing fascism, but to conquer sales markets. We could have, if we had intended so, prevented this war from breaking out without doing one shot, but we didn´t want to." - Winston Churchill to Truman (Fultun, USA March 1946)

  • @SyberiaDreams That quotation does not support your earlier assertation that he Sir Winston was "nothing than a power hungry war criminal".

  • @TimBrewin indeed ,it's support by saying that he could prevent this war ,and save millions of life

  • @SyberiaDreams Two points. 1 - Churchill was not in power when the War started so he could not have prevented it, merely shortened it. 2 - To quote Voltaire "Sir, I may not agree with what you say, but I defend to the death your right to say it.". Let's just agree to differ. I'm a proud patriot with the grandparents who served in the forces in WWII and I am grateful every day for the sacrifices they and others made to ensure we live today in a civilized free society. I will never change.

  • @TimBrewin and i am european patriot ,and Europe served as the site of the most murderous combat know to man,and civilians suffered worse horrors than the soldiers.and at the end thanks to churchill ,red army occupied all great capitals of central europe:berlin, budapes, prague, vienna.hundreds millions christians were under heel of the most barbarous tyranny in history:the bolshevik regime of the greatest terrorist of them all,Stalin

  • @SyberiaDreams As I said, let's agree to differ. I will never agree with what you say, and I suggest you will never agree with me.

  • The proudest moments of my life have been taking part in Rememberance Day parades for St John Ambulance wearing full dress uniform and a poppy. Lest we forget.

  • 3:02

  • It was disgusting to see those little bastard children rioting, looting, and burning the country that their grandparents fought day and night and died with only their short lives left to give for their nation. Had they failed and quit because it was "too hard" or they didnt get anything out of it then the facists would have undoubtably have taken the world by the throat. What happened to Britain???

  • @Redhammer627 I couldn't agree more. There are very few things left in this World that make be proud to be British, but thinking about what my grandparents each went through in WWII and what they had to do in order to maintain British freedom and defeat the Fascists and Nazis is one of those things. I shudder to think what my grandfathers (both served in the services and survived) would make of the Country if they were alive today. Lest we forget.

  • never never NEVER GIVE UP!!!

  • I thought the Americans won the war single-handedly?!?!?!?! I've seen the films :)

    Rule Britannia

  • RIP Britain. RIP Europe.

  • The greatest British citizen that has ever walked the earth

  • All I've got to say is LOL the most advanced empire Vs a small island whom had most of their army spread out across the common wealth defeated the Nazis with such a weakened and small army.

  • Precisely for being an Island the German blitzkrieg on Britain was impossible: the Panzer couldn't fly over the English channel. In the air-battle the numbers were however very much uneven in both planes and pilots so yes, it was pretty much David versus Goliath. No less. The problem was strategy - the Nazis were too obsessed and in a rush - and quality of the machines as well: the Spitfire overcame the German BF - 109.

    Endurance, obviously, and fine determination.

  • @MHumberto

Hello to all!I am sorry for my poor english, but I must "say" this!Thank you,Mr.Churchill, thank you Your Majesty King George, thank you british people!Without you,I was do not born and live, maybe! You was first, who beat Nazis!I love you,my known and unknown british and others heroes!British,Czech,Polish,French....etc!THANK YOU for ever!My name is Jiří Bukáček,48,born and living in Czech Republic and really CZECH PATRIOT!

  • @PiggyCam1997 well, that small island was also the largest and most advanced empire the world has ever seen!, but it is mainly just our plucky Brits !

  • @PiggyCam1997 well the Germans weren't an empire.....

  • Would we have all these wars today if we still had our Last Man that Saved our Country Sir Winston Churchill I very much doubt it

  • epic last rally by a people who never gave up... im american and i fear this kind of rally is coming .... but not for us:( we are toast cause of crooked gov ... save us britan

  • The greatest of the great Winston.

  • I remember times when people were proud to be British! Proud of what Britain was and the country we had defended.

I am not proud to be British! I'm proud of those who fought back then for my freedom. I'm proud of all those people who fought for mine and my childrens future.

All I see now is a country blighted by crime, a country where people are more inclined to take than give. A country where a lot of people have no respect for those who fought to give them the very freedom they now have.

    RIP

  • @cajohnsy

People haven't been proud to be British since the mid 50's. The Suez crisis was the final straw and showed everyone we were no longer the power we used to be.

  • @OriginalYTName Sorry, I am still proud to be british... problem is I dont speak Polish

  • @OriginalYTName Sorry, I am still proud to be british... problem is I dont speak Polish

  • whenever the usa is mentioned in war i always remember what my dad god rest him used to tell me and i quote "When we bomb the enemy takes cover. When the germans bomb the enemy takes cover. When the usa bomb, everybody takes cover!!" usa take great pride in saying "they won the war" really? what war was that then?

  • Two World Wars And One World Cup =D

  • The British stood alone but what many fail to remember is that they were far from been defeated the british were a empire and a great nation there humilation in europe was just a cock-up and a set back! We came back stronger than ever giving the luftwaffe a hudge blow and stopping the germans invasion plans! They north africa british humiliate the italians and then monty and rommels wars begins and monty and his desert rats just about defeat germans and italians britain stood alone NOT DEFEATED

  • High regards to British tenacity...at a time when the British stood so dire with the U.S. only playing small minor part and the crumpling of the other allies...Without the survival of the British? I as a U.S. citizen repeat the words..."Never was so much owed by so many to so few"

  • The British fought the German forces primarily and reclaimed France, the Russians soaked the casualties and kept the heat controlled on the Eastern Front, and the Americans provided an all around boost through their forces and supplies. The Canadians and Australians and New Zealanders played an important part as well as the colonial forces. Even before pearl harbour, the Americans were sending supplies to Britain. As of 2003 the financial debt was paid in full.

  • canadians and americans and countless other countrys helped win the battle of britain dont forget them!!!

  • @kilroywuzhere1 and 1 jamaican! :p

  • @kilroywuzhere1 The Allies won WWII, not Britain. I say that as a proud descendant of 3 members of the forces in WWII (ATS, Army and RAF)

  • I simply admire very much Winston Churchill and the British people for holding strong even though they were left alone fighting the Nazi Germany.

  • is this the whole thing?

  • The russians actually won the war but we kept it alive

  • He and the amricans won the war

  • "we shall never surrender"

  • And to think he was Dyslexic, genius !

  • Bloody Hell WHAT a speech. I doubt that there is a politician (word used advisedly) alive today that could get anywhere near a speech like that today.

  • He was right, its true. Every soul who has lived and lives on this island owes a debt to the pilots of Fighter command, Dowding and all the support staff. Not to mention all the forces and civilians who fought the Nazi war machine.

  • @Sleepindude We owe a debt to every person alive, in the services or not, alive or dead, for their immense efforts which overcame "the Nazi power" (to quote Sir Winston) and helped to assert Democracy over Facism and Communism. Never Forget.

  • Winston Churchill, right man, right place, right time.

  • Thank you Sir Winston Churchill the few gave for the many

  • @happionecom and won!

  • great man,great people
