First defensemen to score 40 goals in a season? And the only player to win the Art, Norris, Hart, and Con Smyth in 1 season?

If he played in the pussy NHL today he'd get well over a 100 goals a season and 300 points. In todays NHL you aren't allowed to touch a person or you get a penalty.

@juzu4me The game was tougher then, for sure. But goalies no longer play a stand-up style, all player conditioning tends to be far higher and the game is significantly faster. Gretzky was an amazing player, but you can't easily compare players from different eras - you can only compare how dominant they were in their respective eras.
