I remember there was this comic strip in the 80's called Bloom County in which Spud McKenzie ran for president but had to bow out due to a scandel involving getting "Benji" pregnant it was very funny!

(although it was later reveled that it was all faked and that Benji was not pregnant and had instead become a hare-krishna!)

This was back when alcohol companies started doing commercials encouraging "responsible drinking".
