  • wat geweldige muziek is dat WOOOW ! jhbrocks holland

  • Being Danish I'm somehow particularly envious of Petri - to be conducted by Abbado!! I hope she knows how priviliged she is :0)

  • @pildskadden Being the virtuossi Petri is, I wonder if the one who should be honored is the conductor. Not every day a musician of her stature is born! I love her artistry since quite a few years. She is always brilliant!

  • They using Modern Alto Harmonic recorders with e foot by Mollenhauer & Nik Tarasov/Joachim Paetzold :)

  • 5:45 *__* Carmignola è la voce di Dio

  • grande Abbado ...:)

  • WoooW !

  • wonderful!!!

  • This is the best part in the whole composition. :) I never get bored of listening to different ensembles playing this section.

  • Υπέροχη μουσική αγγέλων

  • SUBLIME !!!

    Grazie !

  • Bellisimo, que bellisima ejecución, Bravo !!!

  • The audience did not properly appreciate this performance. They should be standing up and cheering.

  • @safetychoice in baroque times there was no clapping or cheering...maybe they told the audience to act in the times, like the music...or maybe the performance wasnt over, i think this particular performance was of all the brandenburg concertos, because there is also the second brandenburg concerto played by this same group at this same hall on youtube

  • @Musicalme96 Your comment is barely intelligible.

Politely waiting for the piece to end is 19th century concert etiquette.

18th c., audiences freely expressed themselves while the music was playing. Mozart was even concerned when the audience did not interrupt his cadenza.

But these so-called "Brandenburg Concertos" were not composed for public concerts. They were composed for and played by the musicians at the court of Anhalt-Cothen, where Bach was Capellmeister.

  • @wcbroccoli That is rather interesting. I am now more informed than I was previously!

  • @acc96build Surviving account records from the court of Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Coethen, Bach's employer, even tell the names of court musicians and the instruments they played. The instrumentation of the Brandenburgs very closely matches the resources at the Coethen court but do not match the slim resources of Markgrave Christian Ludwig of Brandenburg.

  • What a wonderful ensamble, the very best

  • i love this and the muscians and conductor do this sososo beautifully. i love the brandenburg concerti sososo much! thanks for all the postings. i am listening to all. i just found out about you tube not too long ago. i have cancer and this music helps me to get through the day and thank God for these musicians and conductor who do it so great ! thanx again for posting!

  • That violinist was so amazing! I loved it! Kudos to the amazing tone from the harpsichord! And of course the subtle tones of the recorder along with everyone else came together perfectly in this Baroque era piece!

  • they look professional but they play like amateurs

  • @S1CKDRIFT3R How so ? They are both very musical and work together very well....what is playing like an amateur?

  • c'e' un altoparlante per i flauti?

se la risposta e' no, allora perche' poi son scomparsi nel tempo?

is there a loudspeaker for the recorders?

if not, why did they disappear in time?

  • The Brandenburg Concerto is one the finest compositions ever made.

Bach is the greatest of all time.

  • I envy anything Michala Petri does. She is the most talented recorder I've ever heard.

  • Perfect!
