  • What do you hit to get the final output?

  • @Aoleon F12, or go to the Render tab, and under the Render section press the Image button

  • @TheAdminjr Thanks! Is there a real time preview for the final composite or do you have to render every time you want to see what the final composite will look like? I am used to working in Shake where I can always see the full screen result of any node including the final composite view.

  • @Aoleon There is. Hit F12 to render the frame once, then add a Viewer node (Add->Output->Viewer). Then whatever you connect to it, when you select it it will show you the result of the composition of that part. Moreover, if you check the "Backdrop" checkbox, when you select the viewer node the image on it will be displayed on background of the compositor. There is also a Splitviewer where you can compare two outputs. Check out some of my later tutorials if you like to see them in action.

  • Hey, great tutroial , is also the same with videos? can i make a film with my camera and insert then a animated dragon for example ?

  • @Paulemann123 Thanks, and yes you can, just add in an Image node (Add->Input->Image), and open the video file. Then the same thing applies.

  • hi, and how to add the shadow from cube on the keyboard ? (sorry for bad english)

  • @velokoraptus Make a plane behind the cube, rotate it to match the keyboard and in its material scroll down to the Shadow tab and check "shadows only". It doesn't always produce a good result through, so you may have to play around with the lighting a bit.

  • can you tell me how i could get a background image on the screen? I know how to get to the picture and get it and stuff but whenever i try to bring it up on the screen it doesn't appear and if i don't make any sense sorry >_< please reply though :P

  • @bloodylilboy12 In the 3d view press n to bring up the properties panel.

Then scroll down until you find the words 'Background Images'

There should be an checkbox next to them, check that to enable BG images and click the arrow next to that to expand the panel.

Click on the 'Add Image' button that has appeared, then on the arrow beneath that next to 'Not Set'

There you can choose your image by clicking the 'Open' button.

Hope this helps. Sorry for the wait.

  • @TheAdminjr thanks for the help :)!

  • 2.5 ftw
