  • G'day, got a question for ya. When cleaning the VTR. i notice all the solvents sit inside the muzzle break and its hard to clean inside the break without damaging the crown.. What do you do for this ?

  • How much does the muzzle brake actually help with recoil? Does shooting lighter bullets ( 160 GR vs. 110GR) make a recoil difference?

  • @bjones870 yes they do, i can feel the difference between a fully loaded 110gr and a 180gr bullet but it´s so small that you wouldn´t bother, the 308 is one of the most forgiving calibers in the world man!!!

  • THIS FAGGOT RECKONS HIS A SIK CUNT

  • @ThePapeech tnx for the post i´m sure that everyone can benefit from your statment my friend.

  • @Mackan134

    im sure they can

  • how much did that cost?

  • whats a good starter gun for a beginner who has never been hunting before? I also look at the recoil factor as well.

  • @generalsoul1 id say a 30-30, for a good starter rifle. that is if ure hunting deer for example. But the Remington Model 700 .308 is also a great rifle. They claim to be the most accruate mass produced weapon ^_^

  • whats the difference between the SPS and Varmit Target Rifle

  • The vtr has a 20" barrel + 2" muzzlebrake and the sps varmint has a full length 26" barrel without the brake,, it´s pretty clear on remingtons mainpage

  • how far away were you shooting at to use that high of an angle?

  • @baconator490 lol that is what i was wondering. LOL must have beed a far shot.

  • I love your guns, congrats

  • Yeah, and Remington stands high when it comes to price vs performance ;)

  • what distance do you get on that i might get on for hunting

  • its a .308, if you can shoot, it will reach 600 meters.

  • i got one of these in a .308... so far im not 100% happy with shooting it. i only have a crapy scope and only had the chance to fire 52 rounds from mine... so far i have managed a 2" group of 3 shots at 100 meters. I think this is more due to my lack of skills and the crapy scope than the vtr... looks like a hell of a gun and sounds awesome when shot... i just want to shot well at about 500 meters.

  • Hi, i guess it´s nothing wrong with your scope or rifle, i bet a bux on wrong ammo.

Handloading is the game,, good luck :)

  • I'd second that. But short of handloading you can go with Buffalo Bore ammo, esp for the 308. It made a world of difference in my sub moa accuracy as compared to typical "off the rack" loads from Federal, Winchester, etc.

  • Is the 2657 ft/sec off a chronograph? interested to see what ft/sec your getting out of that thing...

  • Yep it´s a Crony reading, i´ve been testing Hornady v-max 110gr up to 3215ft/s but 3085ft/s gives me best precision.

  • i just picked up one of these recently and need a scope before i can go shoot it. Hows the ported barrel? Noticable? I kind of worry that it is a bit of a gimmick but am not sure.

  • Hi, as u can see on the video it doesn´t kick upwards so much (and not backwards either), so yes it works, still there are much more effective compensators out there :)

  • I have the same exact rifle but with a lupy mark 4 8.5x24x50. I free floated the barrel the best I could . Thge mark x pro trigger 4 lb. pull is less than desired. With hand loads w/ imr 3031 abd a 168 serria match king. I am able to hold 1 moa at 500 yards with a 5 mph crosswind.

  • Hi, that sounds realy nice, i haven't done anything yet with the stock, i use handloaded Hornady V-max 110gr (3085ft/s). I tryed 185gr Lapua Mega with poor groups so i guess that it like lighter bullets, the next step is to try Hornady Interbond 165gr/// Mackan

  • this is a great gun, But whats the 308 accuracy like? and Iam sure it the LTR compact tactical that comes with the scope bi pod and heavy barrel, all in all the Model 700 series will neer let you down, ask any US Marine scout sniper its the basic platform of there standard issue rifle

  • I agree,, and the accuracy? read below ;) by the way Lapua Mega 150gr factoryloads goes halv inch groups at 80 yards :)

  • i am thinking of getting this gun in 308. how is the accuracy?

  • Hi, with the right ammo or handloads my rifle

shoots 1 inch groups or better at 80 yards.

  • doesnt the LTR come wit ha scope and bipod?

  • Hi, no not that i know of. By the way this is the Remington VTR :)

  • nice toy, I just bought mine today. still need to get a scope for it though.

  • Sweet hope u get satisfied ;)
