we can learn two things about 1970 cars:

1- they didnt have seatbelts.

2- they didnt have Fire extinguishers.

3- they didnt have electronic stability control :-P

@zehkgees What I learned is that (1) rear engined cars are inherently unstable (about 3/4 of the crashes shown are rear engined cars), and (2) Mercedes made the safest handling cars back then (only one minor incident @2.33.)

@gotham61 I disagree with your first remark, It's more than engine location factor that determines how the car handles. Most of these cars have very high ride-height which is bad for faster corners.

I have a rear engined car which I have rolled it like that, but after I lowered the ride and installed custom shocks it became much more drivable and it didn't tend to roll over.

Also there are a few porcshes on this video and all got away without a scratch :)

Alot of these cars were like plain regular street cars, people would just show up in their daily commuter, sign the papers and then go drive around the ring, a few drove too fast, crashed and then had no car at all because insurance wouldnt pay a dime once you signed those papers. That still applies today, drive at your own peril. LOL
