I know CLANNAD was extremely sad, but I hope people didn't just cry miserably but also understood the importance of a family. CLANNAD overall was too much for us immature otakus to understand, but I think it was a great share of family bond for all of us. ;D

When nagisa died I was like," I have to finish this he may find happiness" but when ushio died I was crying so much it was way worse than when nagisa died and I couldn't stand it. But when it ended and they were all together I was so happy if they didn't have the orbs that grant wishes I felt like I was going to die of depression or something

oh ha well this isnt the *complete* instrumental its the off vocal version which means the main singing is ogne as you can tell ha

but usually in an *off vocal* version of a song the chorus still has the back up voice to amplify the singer voice in the real version

I found out that from a forum... this might of been the reason everyone was alive in the end--- at the moment the first time tomoya held nagisa's hand during birth he imagined all of the bad things tht might of happened and actually lived it due to tht other world but in reality when the baby was born he was snapped back into reality--- ill get the link if i can ever find out the forum again XD

btw this was the greatest anime i ever watched!!!made me cry like everyone else too lmao

In the game/novel it's like this:

after you have completed all story lines, you unlock the after-story story line. after nagisas an ushios death, you have to collect "lights"(they are in the anime too) and when you got them you unlock the real ending. I personally don't think that tomoya only imagines all those things, it's more like he gets a 2nd chance

and yeah kanon maybe is sadder though the scene when nagisa dies is the saddest scene I've seen in anime so far(and I've seen a lot)

one of the more common reasons for the ending is that the world where the world where Nagisa lives was made by the memories of a better world (the white orbs that appear throughout the series), and the empty-world Ushio put them together to create that world

@AdamSlam Ohkay. So remember the episode where Tomoya finally settles things with his dad? Well when he saw his dad walk away, Ushio, saw a ball of light (Remember the legend of the lights making people's wishes come true?) go into Tomoya because he was finally happy. Then when Ushio died, Tomoya wished that Nagisa was still alive and Ushio was a healthy child. The light granted his wish and it went back in time to when Ushio was born and altered time. The legend of the orb is an important part.

@AdamSlam Thats a good theory but the reason that he went back was because of all the light orbs he collected. He managed to help others enough to where he was able to have a wish granted. I think he retains all of his memory because... at the epiloge of the series he wishs his grandmother Shino with Ushio and Nagisa and in order that for to take place I think he would've had to forgive his father which only happened because of Shinos lecture.
