A great song but neither traditional nor Irish. It was written by John Conolly who lives in Lincolnshire and is descended from a long line of Humberside fishermen.. He is still alive and well, and performing regularly.

I'm a german Folksinger, also singing irish songs, for example "Fiddler's Green".
I think, there are a lot of old Folkers who'd put you in the jail for singing it like this. But I like it, it's very special, but lovely. Your voice is very soulful, and it's fine to hear an old song in a young way. And: you have the most beautyfull smile I've seen for years!
@elferaus It isn't an Irish song. It was written by an Englishman, John Conolly, who despite his Irish sounding name, lives in Lincolnshire, and is descended from a long line of Humbersside fishermen.
Absolutely lovely, my daughters are quite the musicians too. They play the lyre, the cavaquinho from which the ukelele was born and of course 6 & 12 string guitars, their favorite is the vintage National Steel 12 string, great for rhythm & blues. They're not as brave as you to post their performance but they do well and the music brings them joy. Bless You. A Happy Dad.
Well sung, really. As for the rest, so what if the song is done good. We don't need perfection to some priggish standard, what's really needed is this sort of good performance.
(I'm surprised that I like your version... but the fact that there are various versions is a lot of the charm of folk's songs, I guess.)
( irish folk song - Fiddlers Green.wmv is - or was - my favorite version.)
I am putting your performance in a new playlist, called Choice New Performers. Rename it if you like.
your version is a little bit to high. My version it´s
al little bit to slow - but it´s o.k.. My folk-song you find under my nickname "Folkskammer" in the pub of potsdam (germany) -sorry for my bad english:-)
ok, well for some reason the comment i wanted to leave it won't let me because it tells me it's over 500 letters long... but that is sooooo not the case. grrrrr. my comment was much shorter than that. it even said in the count below it was only in the 200's... grrr! why oh why am i an alien that seems to short circuit all technology all around me! :( it's not easy being me in this techy-world. boo hoo.
This wasnt what I was looking for, but I watched it anyways:) You must be from out east. Your very cute when you sing. I smiled though out. It was nice:)
Hi, this is my first comment ever, but I surely needed to write you something, because I am truly feeling your voice, this touches my soul, and not much do. Also, I like you personality and sense of humor. I didn't know that you got ricola over there in the US. So please keep your head high, you are not alone in this weired universe, there are plenty of us out there.
Saratoga Sea Hook was tasty as the briny spray, Your Peter Pans were airy as Tinkerbell's breath on a cold Neverland morn, and Greensleeves and Rose Red almost made me wish I was English. Songs for you (poignant stuff): 1) Ode to Billie Joe (67) Bobbie Gentry 2) Is That All There Is? (55) Peggy Lee 3) Between Something & Nothing (89) Ocean Blue 4) The Red Telephone (67) LOVE 5) Blind Willie McTell (83) Dylan 6) Corpus Christie Carol (94)Jeff Buckley Enjoy your virtual mix tape, kid
I've watched most of your videos, and this is one of my favorites (The Story of Snow takes the honors). It's obvious you sing from your heart, and listening to you is like watching those dolphins that jump in the air just for the hell of it (on tv, that is).
By the way, if you like ShamRock check out the Pogues (especially Rum, Sodomy and the Last-1985). -Brian
lol. I have the crappiest PC ever invented, so it doesn't have the technology to do that, really. Dammit, I want a Mac! But yeah... lol, I'll probably never post a video while i'm sick again.

I can definitely tell you have a lovely voice, but perhaps you shouldn't sing when you're sick, lol. It's terrible on the vocal cords O_o
Otherwise, good job :)

Either way, bravo for sounding so good under those circumstances. =)
