  • Doctorgoatboy; It's from Optimum-I bought my copy Autumn 2008; I actually hadn't seen the film since about 1997 when it was shown late at night on the telly. The UK DVD is in full Widescreen (2.35.1) and is of excellent quality......no extras, though. Try looking for it on Amazon, you should be able to pick up a copy quite cheaply.

  • There IS a UK DVD release.......He was barely off his Mother's tit when he 'ad them shaking in their boots down in 'ackney!

  • @eibon81 Not when I posted this video 4 years ago there wasn't, I had been waiting since the start of the first Gulf War to see how it ended!!

  • I bought this on dvd just because i have the same car as burton has in the film, but enjoyed the film a lot, thanks for posting.

  • @RichardElden You're entitled to your opinion : )

  • @Kelly14UK Not on my video you aren't, this is not a democracy.

  • @Doctorgoatboy Lol!

  • This film got slagged at the time WTF. Performance, Get Carter, Villain and the one I want to see, The Offence. Good Brit nasties.

  • It's a great movie only shown UK televison a few times, like get carter 1971 it shows how nasty & violent the 70's was compared to the hip lovefest of the 60's

  • "This was the best movie Burton ever made!"

  • Exciting clip! THANKS for posting! Have read about this film over the years but have never seen it shown on TV. Richard Burton's psychotic & sadistic villian in this flick reminds me of Richard Widmark's stunning film debut as Tommy Udo in the late 40's noir classic "Kiss of Death".

  • No need to take any money off Danny for a few weeks. Award initiative.

  • @JuanMacready

what has some gangster frightened you in the past? your reaction seems somewhat disproportionate sonny...

  • Heard you asked about Mum's sepsis Wolf... No need to keep the noise down now.

  • Great movie... Up there with Get Carter... I love there gritty 70's low budget UK Ganster flicks. The London of that time was a perfect place for seedy sets... I can't believe I've only just found out about it after all these years!!!

  • Vic Dakin's (Richurd Burton) mum in this film is played by Cathleen Nesbit who was doing film in the 1920's. She was also engaged to that icon of English poets, Rupert Brooke, who died of sepsis in The Great War in 1915.

  • Martin kemp is going to play vic dakin in a film called burden of proof danny dyer will be wolf it will be more like the book

  • Thats all we need.

  • @PeterFirthFan

  • it is available on dvd . my god its good.

  • Good film burtons good .people go on about burtons cockney accent but lets face it vinnie jones hard man act in lock stock and snatch looks like it belongs in a ed wood movie but people like those movies burtons a good actor the movie is good

  • Great film, easily as good as Get Carter and Long Good Friday!

  • I love it when Vic lays the boot in at 0:39.

  • RAM THE FUCKERS!!!!

  • I'll open you... Out.

  • Why do people slag this film off? I've seen Performance and Get Carter and liked this one as much.

  • Telly all week, screw the wife Saturday.

  • VIC THINKS YOU NEED A 2ND OPINION

  • CANT NOW THE PIERS AVE GONE.

    you forgot you shoppin'

  • GRREAT LOOKING FILM...

  • A friend of mine had a dog like that. He got run over... a few times

  • One of my all time faves this. The Mr Bellamy/Greek st seq is a personal fave. Great to see it on here. Does anyone know where a 35 mm copy could be had?

  • Was looking for a 35 mm copy of the film last year - some leads, but no joy - did you ever find a copy?

  • I think he may simply have been allergic to whelks. I'm sure that's how his lawyer would have suggested in court.

  • A top notch movie

  • Yep-needs a DVD release! "Ram the Fuckers!" Classic.

  • its finally released on dvd in the uk in september

  • Sitting Target, not Moving Target. Ian McShane in both Villain and Moving Target, gave a good performance.

  • villain was the first with Richard Burton, then Moving Target with Oliver Reed, next, Get Carter with Michael Caine, and finally, the Long Good Friday with Bob Hoskins. The Best of British hoods, film
