i didnt blink. Not once whilst watching this video. Thats how much it effing rocked. And btw, not being a smartass, so dont get the wrong idea, its spelled Betelgeuse~ <3 And Betelgeuse..... BETELGEUSE!! -crickets- ...damn...
We are doing a stop motion animation film called Tim. The movie is a stop motion animation film that is dedicated to Tim Burton and has Sir Christopher Lee as the narrator. Search the directors name Brian Joseph Ochab to find the video.
Hey hey - thanks for the comments. The MANY hours were spread out over two years... back-to-back Halloween project. The first version had no moving carousel and shorter arms, then I later decided to improve the costume. I always liked the scene from the movie, and after looking at the video I thought I could build the headpiece... after lots of time, I got it together! Thanks again! Peace.
I know I'm just reiterating what everyone else says, but awesome job. Now all you need is a chubby guy in a power blue leisure suit and white patent leather loafers to play Otho.
Hi - thanks for your comment. Alas, when building the costume, I could not find a Skellington head that was the right size, so there is a regular skull up top. The creatures around the carousel are not right either. That's something for the future... to sculpt and cast all the details so they are correct -- Cheers!
Hey all -- thanks again for the kind words! To answer a couple of questions on here -- the entire costume was handmade and painted, no 'purchased' items other than the crazy amount of materials. The hammers are sturdy white foam frames wrapped with paper, lightweight but big. The arms are aluminum poles with fabric sleeves. The headpiece is foamcore, paper, glue, tape and paint. The whole thing took more hours to build than I can remember -- Cheers!
Simply awsome work! So screen accurate and the damn thing lights up and moves, bravo! Would love to know what you fashioned the hammer hands out of...very impressive! I'm thinking about going in my Davy Jones costume to the Masquerade this year...see ya there?
Thanks y'all - I'm glad you enjoyed the comic con masquerade (BTW-lots of cool people, costumes and staff!) and this home-made video. We were shooting still photos of the costume and I figured why not make a little tribute to the original scene? Cheers!
I got to see this on one of the giant screens at Comic-Con. You did an amazing job with the Beetlejuice costume. All the time you put into the costume, I must say, was worth it.
how do you make it move around your heac? did you just use a baby's mobile?
