  • i want to kiss justin bieber

  • I know how to solve our money problems... Spend more money! Takes money to make money, right babe?

  • @stewycoff blow me slut

  • Solution is SMT_Rail

    smtrail.com

  • 呵呵,其实也都是空话!投其所好

  • 呵呵,其实也都是空话!投其所好

  • This high speed rail plan is not going to work. It actually takes more money than it brings in.

  • A big part of what made this country prosperous was the implementation of ships, then railroads, then highways, then freighter planes. These conveyances made it easy to move goods (and people) around. That made a giant difference and the US became a monster economy.

BUT other countries (e.g., China) have not only caught up with, but passed our technology. So it's time to, at least, match the leading technology. And that, in part, means high-speed rails.

    It's a no-brainer actually.

  • @TheGoalSetter

Why they don't explain high-speed rails in this way is besides me. Obviously, one benefit is jobs, but more importantly, it is an investment...a PROVEN investment.

The great economies have ALWAYS depended on not only controlling trade routes, but also making their trade routes the safest and quickest.

  • @TheGoalSetter Technology is not what made our nation wealthy. It's private enterprise. Compare the U.S.S.R.'s centrally planned economy to the U.S. Oh, that's right you can't because the U.S.S.R. DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE!! Do you understand that China is becoming competitive because they are letting go of a lot of their central economy thinking. They're sending their top bureaucrats to the U.S. for MBAs!!! They have a division set up to implement market economy ideas into their system.

  • @getagreatjobfast

You make a good point. Success is multipronged.

BTW: I'm presently earning an MBA and about 25% of my classmates are Chinese (all Chinese women!). In fact, only 10% of the students are white...most are white women.

There is a problem with white men choosing to not go to college. Some say that white men are afraid of competing. Others say that white men suddenly believe that college is a scam. Perhaps the PC culture of school teaches white boys to feel guilty. I dunno.

  • You know, I hear a lot of government bureaucrats yelling how much we need high speed rail. You know what I don't hear? I don't hear one citizen screaming that they want to RIDE high speed rail. I live in Jacksonville and there is a monorail that goes by outside my window twice every hour with exactly 0 passengers on it most of the time. If people aren't riding "low speed rail" why are they all of a sudden going to ride HSR? And where is our bankrupt gov't going to get this money anyway?

  • @getagreatjobfast Where is our bankrupt gov't going to get this money anyway? As long as you build it for the community, the money will come. The FED needs jobs to live as well. Print money is boring and a scary job.

  • @beancube2010 Do I note a bit of sarcasm here? You ARE being sarcastic, right?

  • @getagreatjobfast Because it's faster than airplane for trips up to and sometimes exceeding 400 miles, dumbass.

And there's this thing called income taxes- maybe you've heard of 'em? Spending less isn't the best policy! Spending money in the right places is! And you will see! All of the US will see the success of high speed rail in California.

  • Don't waste money on RAIL SERVICE. A person has to drive or be driven to the train station and when they get where they are going.....then what? Walk everywhere or rent some strange car you are not comfortable with driving. May as well drive to begin with.

Create REAL jobs. Permanent jobs. Not temporary useless jobs.

  • Robb told me that there doing this to take away your driving privelage away, in 1949 when WW2 ended there wasn't Interstates in this country, people has their own Airplanes and theyw ould take there fammily on a munti engine airlpane and travel 240 MPH in the sky you can buy your own plane starting at $1400, and Fuel is $0.50 per gallon they were Cheap!! until they built the interstate which is greener than private plane. THANKS to the Gov in 1950s

  • Trouble is High Speed Rail is a total waste of money.

  • @TELEVISIONARCHIVES not only a waste of money but it takes away driving privelage, in 1949 before the interstate was built most people own ther own airlpanes and people can fly acound the country it was Cheap until the Goverment built tihe interstate which took away flying privelage because the $1500 airplane became $150,000, $0.50 Aviation fuel in these days is now $10 pergallon, If we get high speed rail then same thing can happen to cars and carfuel.

  • Go Amtrak

  • High Speed Rail... building a bridge to the 19th Century.

    What a f***ing joke.

Again kids, government does not create jobs, wealth or prosperity. If it did, there would be no need for a private sector... we'd all just get in line for "free" gubmint goodies like the Soviets did. And we see how well that worked out.

Hells bells... instead of high speed rail, just hire people to dig holes and fill them back in. At least then you'd be honest about not knowing sh*t about economics.

  • I guess we didn't learn a doggone thing by throwing away $5BN building a metro rail for Detroit. That was going to "save the city" and look where Detroit is now. You can ride the rails for free there because when they tried to charge for the ride, they had no riders. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing exactly the same way and expecting different results. I wonder which union applied the grease to get these gears in motion?

  • @yupoboy admit you want to make out with justin bieber

  • We have to go faster. I know about Amtrak being a money pit, but I like Obama and his boldness, his audacity and his courage and his belief that we must get back to 1st. High speed rail is one of the riskiest ventures that this country is considering, but I am confident that this will be a good venture to embark on. Let's do this!

  • @dpas2009 Are you being sarcastic, or do you really think Obama is on the right "track?"

  • @dpas2009 If it was a risk worth taking, then private entrepreneurs would be stepping over each other to build high-speed rail lines. The lack of interest in the private sector tells me this is nothing more than a rouse to shuffle money around to line someone's pocket with government funds.

  • you can't restore the middle class when you allow companies to ship jobs ashore and allow china to produce and sell their products here. You gave the banksters billions instead of the people... this is treason and people are waking up to your tirany...

  • I just had to comment, great job on what you are doing! I like your video! to your success!

  • Waste!

  • I live an forty-five minutes from the city of Charlotte, NC and I'm pushing the Southeast High Speed Rail Corridor hard. One day, when I'm grown and gone I'll live there. And I love to travel to the cities of the Northeast- and Atlanta too. The solution? Take the train. My parents don't have to drive, we all get to rest on the trip, and we're happy when we arrive. High speed rail is the future of transport. Crowded roads and airports got you down? Take the train, America.

  • @cheerwine01 High speed rail projects that are happening across the USA are mostly a joke.

It would be excellent to have a Boston - NYC - Philadelphia - Baltimore - DC route for starters. Then you can talk about extending that line on down to Richmond, Raleigh, Charlotte, and Atlanta while another line shoots down into Florida.

High speed rail is generally not an alternative to driving in most of America, but it would be a great alternative to flying (a competitor, mind you).

  • @cheerwine01 I think trains are great. I just don't think I should have to pay more in taxes so others can have this benefit. When you take the fruits of another's labor to benefit someone else it's called "legal plunder." It's simply theft of the fruits of your labor. If a transportation enterprise can stand on its own, great. If I have to pay for someone else to travel, I say it's not great.

  • @getagreatjobfast And I don't think it's fair for someone who live in New York City to fund the Department of Agriculture and the Forestry Service, or a highway in the middle of nowhere, or a study on the mating habits of crabs in Alaska! The money we pay in income taxes is for AMERICA, not for us. And if those agencies can stand on their own, great. But don't bitch about that when somebody else feels the same way. Be a patriot- make a sacrifice for your country with your money.

  • @cheerwine01 "Sacrifice for your country with your money." That has to be the stupidest thing I have heard today. You know what's sad about this is that I believe that you actually believe this yourself. I would suggest that you educate yourself about freedom. A good starting place would be the Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States. Then maybe read the Federalist Papers which gives insight as to why the the Constitution was written the way it was.

  • Then I'd suggest reading "The Law" by Frederick Bastiat written during a brief period of small government in the U.S. Then maybe some lighter fare.... "Something For Nothing" by Brian Tracy. Stop watching CNN, FOX, and NPR for a week and actually challenge yourself intellectually. Once you get in the mindset that some bureaucrat in Washington knows what's best for you and how to spend your money better than you do, you are back to serfdom. It may be too late for you...

  • @getagreatjobfast And I CHOOSE to help my nation progress via high speed rail. Your counter-argument was a petty rebuttle that had nothing to do with your previous argument. Maybe you need to be educated in constructed debate? I'm in 8th grade- I've read everyone of those documents with pride and admiration; more than once within the last three years.

Like it matters what you think anyway, now. High speed rail WILL happen and it WILL succeed whether you think it's worth YOUR tax money or not.

  • @cheerwine01 You're in 8th grade. That explains a lot. This is what our system's turning out these days... You've read "The Law" with admiration? Well, also without understanding apparently. I believe HSR will happen as will hundreds of other government money-wasting projects. So, how do you CHOOSE to help your nation progress? You have a job and pay taxes? It's easy to be idealistic with other people's money. Let's have this conversation in 30 years when you know what you're talking about.

  • I saw on local news that here in sacramento they were bulding i think highspeed trains and were gonna be shipped to the east coast. Im not really sure cause I just saw a little...

  • This guy, Biden, is so full of shit that he has brown eyes. The government is not an investor. If they are we are living in a fascist state. I do not want to pay for your train travel. I live in a rural setting and will never be using a high speed train. I can't even listen to Bary Sotoro. By.

  • @cchessmaster you clearly live in a rural area if you're dumb enough to think of a capitalist government as anything but an investing service. I'd have to say the largest and most recent example is the "American people" own GM shares. By American people I mean the government, and by government a power you will never have true access to in a capitalist society. Enjoy your highspeed rail system, sir.

  • @cchessmaster your mom called. she wants to know why youre a slut

  • @MrEiriku You must be a psychic she has been dead for 20 years.

  • They should focus on ending the FED not high speed rail ... but I guess they don't care.

  • He says wages have gone down - but he doesnt mean lawyers, doctors and bankers whose wages continue to rise. Squeezing the common man further.

  • Didnt the USA have one of the best tram systems in the world at one time ?

  • @hablerz Yes we did then the railroads foolishly got behind the interstate system and cut their own throats. We don't have more train ridership here in the US because we don't advertise the train as an efficient way to travel long distances.

  • @ferky12 The probem was that GM bought up alot of the tram companies and graudually shut them down , another example how big business working against the common good.

I hope you can someday get a transport policy that benefits the majority one day.

  • It's all a bunch of BS!!!!!!!!

  • We should start more fires. It would create more jobs.

  • This reminds me of China where they stuff a bunch of people on a train like a bunch of sardines or cattle. I would rather drive my car than be a sardine or a cow.

  • I noticed that the U.S. has imported mass transit rail cars from Asia. Great job. The entire U.S. Congress belongs in prison!

  • @workwillfreeyou That's because all of the facilities to make those cars have been moved overseas.

  • Obummer and Obiden couldn't plan shit. They can't even clean up an oil spill or fix the economy. Complete morons.

  • If a high speed rail system was a good idea it would attract investors and be done without govt programs! What idiocy... Look at any train system (or anything else) run by the govt and you'll see that it loses money... OUR MONEY!

  • The seen and the unseen. sure spending $8billion on trains will make jobs, but how many jobs could that make if it were used in different ways?

  • @Pazrayna Yeah... they sure spend OUR money (and our kids and grandkids) so easily to do these "great things". WAKE UP people!!! The govt can't do SHIT that they don't take the money from someone that has earned it first! You want to restore America Mr. Vice President? Do it with your own money!!! I can't wait for November 2nd 2010!

  • These evil fascists should be tried for treason, not admired. They destroyed USA from within. Jobs come from the private sector, not from the government, debt or fake money. One simply cannot beat economics laws, no matter how much he cries at a rally and bamboozles sheeple.

  • @rumco Get yourdickhead out your asshole, what private sector you dickhead ? Private sector that spends 135 million dollars on a piece of art work shit that I would throw right into the garbage ?- And you expect jobs from them? Yea maybe if you want a job wiping there asses for the rest of you life be my guest.

  • @lamentfly Prices/valuation are subjective. I value your comment at 0$, some communist may value it at 100$. Get over it.

  • @rumco so, if you pay taxes.... that means youre saying your money is fake too. HAHAHA SUCKER

  • @MrEiriku You fail to understand elementary logic.

  • @rumco SUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKERSUCKER

  • @QuantumQuacks I agree because the cheapest form of Transportation in America is Greyhound Bus which is stressful and unconfortable, or Driving if you have a reliable car which not every one does, so we need High speed train.

  • simpsons did it

  • wow this is soooooo boring

  • these guys are fucktards...only change i believe in is next election.

  • @wowbishyjust AMEN! I am so sick of these lifetime politicians spending OUR MONEY and driving our country into bankruptcy! Govt is never a source of anything (nor should it be).

  • The Secret History of Barack Hussein Obama

  • @javierbiz the secret history of your smelly cock

  • I would like to see a strong nuclear back bone that would support a system of mag lev block trams that would make it possible to reduce the trucking industry to a range of 200 miles. Then see hybrid/electric semis for the shag trucking lines so truckers can be home more. I would also like to see a ETT system. Evacuated tube transport with a national highway system built in tunnels. It could also have applications for irrigation and flood control if built right. Not to mention the weather...

  • @azezel2311 Finally a good post with some logic and vision for the future

  • LMAO.....this is the biggest load of crap....ask Japan....who sold theirs for pennies on the dollar...the French Paris to Leon is only surviving due to the fact it is a hundred dollar toll on the road....LMAO....ask AMTRAK.....you Mexicans get back to work...the white teachers, in the teachers lounge, they need money for their pensions....some of you need to do some serious reading...LMAO

  • hehmy cam is running abd i am really bored with all that stuff

  • Its never worked for the better anywhere in the world , well that explains why this is a Obama idea . Going from tampa to Orlando for the parks hmm ok. but who is going from Orlando to tampa ???? and for what ??? Oh and what about Vacationers that fly here whats the first thing they do to get around???? rent cars what there going to park them to wait 20 min in line to go on a train and then get to orlando to spend more money on cabs ???? yeah right ! this is stupid !

  • @Ocala92RTTT you damned right it is stupid....but look at California and what a joke high speed rail is....planes are faster, cheaper and use less energy...idiots...and the debt they inherited from Butt Brain Bush they have quadrupled

  • How many jobs will it destroy? How many productive jobs will not be created because people will be working in these unproductive jobs? Government doesn't create jobs, it just shifts money from one pocket to another. And what it does the free market can do faster and cheaper, so the reality is that this clown is just destroying jobs to 'create' a few that probably don't add much to the economy. Oh well, when it fails, they'll have a new program to fix it.

  • I like Obama's idea of building a chocolate cake on the third ring of Saturn. It'll create jobs.

But seriously, here in the USA we Americans built a spectacular passenger rail transport system. It was profitable until FDR and his Union comrades overlaid it with rules, regulations and taxes. You know the rest. FDR and unions sucked the life out of it. We have the remnants of beautiful old train stations dotting the American landscape which once celebrated America's passion for freedom of travel.

  • Hmmmmm?????

  • How about removing most tax breaks from corporations that out source? This would force industry to employ in the country's that they operate. This rail idea is only good if people have jobs to take a train, then its' a great idea!

Outsourcing is one of the key problems, it needs to be addressed now!

  • Holy shit, Obama is a pimp.

  • Run a damn train thru here in a town of 8,000 in Crossett arkansas..We have no Bus's , taxi or any other form of public transport ..

  • High speed rail thats great another big waste of spending and riping off the tax payers just like flying around on expensive jets with all your crownies wasting fuel every place.Nobody is riding the rail transportations they have the ones they have are going broke that all we need is another broke railway system. Were are alll the real jobs not some rail transportation job that have people riding around in empty rail cars.Expensive electric cars oh those are really going sell what a joke.

  • @bondsly

I fail to see how a jet compares to a train in terms of usage and costs..

  • In Soviet Russia we have no president. What is president? Medvedev? Medvedev is retarded clown.

  • Why do I have a strange feeling that this rail system is going to lead to the same rail system that led to AUZCHWITZ in NAZI germany. Creating a rail system, doesn't mean it is going to be a public owned rail system, does it. Even though it will probably have thousands of out of work people working on it.

  • The US is not a rail-centric nation. Never has been, never will be. Blame Ike if you want.

This massive waste of money will accomplish nothing more than sinking us further in debt. And God knows, we don't have enough debt.

After the government goes on a property condemnation spree to steal the land for this, no one will use it. And we will be forced to subsidize it.

In the present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem - R. Reagan

  • lol reagan

  • excellent!

  • Go to love the way the Government is spending our money. We should give them more, they know how to spend it better than we do.

  • Loved the video

Btw, if you guys wanna learn how to hack wep [wii networks] or need photoshop full for free [CS4] Or wanna hack a flash games, wanna code a keylogger? Then Visit my channel <3 !!

  • the state that get the money will blow it and you`ll see no rail for nevada !

  • you have got to think outside the box... this project is way over due....this is a good idea hey i am a republican

  • wow! money grows on trees. YES it does! Yes we can!! *(Insert applause)*

  • Taxpayers subsidize Amtrac to the point that it would be cheaper to buy plane tickets for those traveling from CA to FL. I guess we'll subsidize this new boondoggle to the point that it would be cheaper to give the passengers tickets on the concord.

  • yeah true because if we build more airports expand runways, and Buy more passenger aircraft, then the government going have to take your tax money, pay to the flight school all over the country, and use it for recruiting more airlines pilots because most people can afford the education on aviation.

  • @sideslide23 I'm sorry, you must not have been able to afford the education in English?

  • I've wasted 2 semester of english 101 and flunked it twist and flunked out of college.

  • I hope this will be magnetic levitation rail. 400+ mph trains. the oil lobby will hate it, but I hate all oil companies.

  • @thudmother the Maglev route from Las Vegas to Anaheim project is proposed so there is a slight chance of having it.

  • yeah fuck the oil lobby, they're responsible for all wars

  • will this post?

  • Also if this is as awesome as the High Speed Rail here in Taiwan, America's going to be hundreds of times cooler. Imagine if you could just hop on a train in west virginia and be in New York in a couple hours.

  • The man is getting more and more tired of getting cockblocked by republicans all the time. I'm looking to see something good coming out of him sooner rather than later.

  • More of the same from a President who has failed time and again to make good on his promises. President Obama has now been in office for more than a year and we now have an unemployment rate of almost 11 percent. Instead of working on real solutions that will help put people back to work, this Democrat Congress and Administration have used the economic downturn as an excuse to blow billions of taxpayer dollars on policies that are burying our kids and grandkids under mountains of debt.

  • Lol at the terroist comment. You know what if the American people where as brave as our soldiers we wouldn't have this problem in our country. They cast their votes and scream at protest but don't have the guts to take them on. If they hi jacked a plan or train I'm on I'm a die fighting, for my wife and kids. I want let any man take away their freedom. Don't be scared of these terroist idiots. Stand up, take charge! This is America people this country was built on blood and sacrifice

  • i wish NOW i did not vote for obama. :(

  • @amy24sm Thank you for being honest. Many people wanted change, and he promised to be different from President Bush. Instead, the difference was that he did exactly the same things as Bush only more and faster... Don't feel too bad. McCain would have been no different. He's cut from the same CFR cloth as Obama... They're all the same. The only one who had any sound ideas was Ron Paul and they shut him completely out of the dialogue.

  • The simpsons monorail ep. foreshadowed this

  • The title of the video makes me laugh. These democrats are so fucking CLUELESS. Spend $50 trillion so that a few people can have jobs building the thing. Amazing. I didn't vote for this snake, I know that. I didn't cast my vote based on skin color, charm, or charisma.

  • @Infinity161 Yeah. You vote for smart people. Like Bush.....

  • If you want to create jobs, just cut taxes to business. Thats where most people work "at a business" If they pay less taxes, then in turn, they hire. I know its a prehistoric notion, but it creates jobs. We dont want new government jobs. We dont want government to be bigger than the private sector because that will mean the government will control every aspect of our "free" lives. This aint Europe.

  • @bigdogsdontbark cuttiing taxes doesn't guarantee business will hire. They can cut taxes, and a businesses still may not hire. So instead, they are giving tax credits to businesses who do hire. Meaning for every employee you hire, you get a tax credit. This is pretty much the same thing as cutting taxes, except cutting out the businesses who don't hire. But i bet you'll still find something to complain about.

  • too late China already did!

  • The people who would use the high-speed rail will work for those evil corporations (IF THERE ARE ANY LEFT BY THEN).

  • This isn't Europe, stop trying to make it that way.

  • @bigdogsdontbark what is that supposed to mean?

  • see, if something were to happen to Barack, i wouldnt mind joe being president. ITs better than Sarah Failin. Although i think we should leave the poor girl alone, she has suffered enough from Mccains using her.

  • About Time America gets what the rest of the developed world has.

  • Car company workers are gonna loose their jobs on the other hand

  • Whats with the tongue thing Biden does @ 00:09?

  • He wanted us to know it wasn't forked.

  • From Washington to Obama in Less Than 4 Minutes

    watch?v=xBrSgyPgwYg

  • Excellent job. It gives construction workers years of work, creates thousands of jobs long term and gives the airplane business a run for thier money. Excellent, now get building!

  • @Enellz Terrorist will kill hundred of people when it derails at 200 mph.

  • @OBAMASTINIAN so dont bring america into the 21st century for fear of terrorists? What are you joking? Preventing the building of a much needed infrastructure in America for fear of terrorists is not only cowardly but down right ridiculous.

  • @UniversalBrother108 High speed rails arent anything new, and they arent anything special.

  • @Enellz

Only problem with rail, they lose money, and have to be subsidized through taxes by the 98% who never ride them.

  • I am so excited about this, high speed rail will do more than anything to boost the economy! We need high speed rail between Atlanta and Chicago!

  • Excellent ! Great questions too, and answers. Nice to have a President who thinks and speaks thoughtfully. One point I'd like to bring forward is that singles should be treated equally under the law as are couples. Benefits should be equal, one on one, and not biased toward couples. In regard to taxes, fees, costs, benefits, singles should not be penalized. And it's time this is corrected. Thanks, Mr. President and Mr. Vice President for the information presented. Top video. 5 stars.

  • I am also tired of the continues politics that is in placed everywhere... let us put America first not individual political carriers...

  • please get a job

  • don't miss 41:50 guys

  • people don't want trains. They are fine for cargo but not practical for travel. Waste of good money.

  • This speech is very reminiscent of all the campaign speeches Obama and Biden did at the height of their popularity on the campaign trail.

  • What happens to these jobs when this project is completed?

  • theoretically, consumer demand should pick up the excess by then, we'll see ...

  • They will still need people to run the trains. So there will still be jobs. DUH!!!

  • @GOdupont24 That's what they said about the First Transcontinental Railroad. And the National Highway system.

  • @GOdupont24 you get to make out with justin bieber

  • what a JOKE!!!!! pathetic sheeple still refusing to wake-up...

  • The current route used between Jacksonville and Miami is heavily populated by CSX trains and travel time takes at least 10 hours while Florida East Coast would cut that down to 5 or 6. Anyway keep up the good work! I'm really looking forward to seeing this high speed rail come to life.

  • The southbound would depart New York at 7 AM and if it was on time would arrive in Jacksonville by around Midnight and then Tampa early the next morning. The other two services that serve Florida today aren't as convenient but they're ok. One of the things I would like to see in Florida in addition to the high speed rail corridor in central Florida is use of the Florida East Coast line as a faster route to Miami. (continued in next comment)

  • I just watched this entire speech. As a railfan I'm impressed at what's finally being done here in Florida where I live. The past 10 years I've felt Amtrak and the state politicians have disregarded better transit options here. In 2004 they cut off the Silver Palm which operated between New York and Tampa via a more direct route between Jacksonville and Tampa known as the CSX S Line. The scheduling of this train was great. (continued in next comment)

  • @Hordetuff Agree!!!

  • And oBama sucks and so does this douche...
