  • do you prefer your redtail or harris hawk

  • how do you work that out, have you tried filming any birds of prey in action?

    its pretty hard. :P

  • @willbopdobop hi there i could i ask where abouts you are based coz i have recently got myself a fhh she weighs 2' 2.5oz i have got her coming to glove and dummy bunny at 30 - 40 meters but i havent got any telemetry nor anyone who has expierence in training raptors around me, i know its awful to have a bird and not know what to do with them, but i have learned quickly beeing thrown in at the deep end.. i was at my local pub one night and i met a guy who said he bred such birds..

  • @BADMOHFOH420 he was from manchester and sold me my fhh for 250.. luck has it that id recently finished buliding my mews.. but all i have to go by is a book written by emma ford FALCONRY THE ART AND PRACTICE every thing is going smoothly so far.. i just dont know what to do after calling her from her perch at a field to my glove or lure ..the book says get her to go to a tree branch and back but all my trees are dense and i don't want the creance snagging her up, if u could help me in anyway...

  • @BADMOHFOH420 by the way i feed her 2 to 3 day old chicks gutted and washed coz aparrently the yolk fattens them up and should only be given whilst moulting, which my bird hasnt done as shes only 22 wks old, her response is quite fast but when i get her chasing the dummy bunny she doesnt hunt it like harriet does she just follows it then glides off after 10 - 15 meters of me running at full pace :-( if you wish to help me and can please send me an email to benjamin.brooks@hotmail.co.uk thank you

  • cool video, terrible cameraman

  • How do you train the hawk not to go after the ferret?

  • @cybrown You don't really train them just get them used to each other, you can do this by putting the ferret cage in front of the aviary so the hawk sees them a lot but sometimes some birds wont work with ferrets.

  • fuckin pricks you cant kill an animal when its in the nest with its babys, god will make you all pay one day.

  • @kiafar That shows how colossally stupid you are, rabbits breed through the "breeding season" and no rabbit was killed while in its "nest" I guess your one of the people who likes to eat meat but your ignorant to where it comes from? as for god making me pay where in the ten commandments does it say thow shall not hunt and put food on the table, however I'm sure it says something along the lines of treating others with the respect you yourself would wish for. Rant over

  • @willbopdobop you can act and think as if what you do is right, but you will come to regret what you do, and i never said hunting is wrong, humanity wouldn't survive without hunting, but what you do in this video is against hunting rules ever, you cant go and grab animals out of their home because you are hungry.wtf are you? a fuckin serpent?

  • @kiafar your ignorance is showing....

  • @kiafar Ok I can see where this is going, obviously you think your right, have you got the handbook on hunting there in your lap? no you haven't. If this was rats down a hole you wouldn't say a thing, rats a vermin and guess what so are rabbits. we are on this land to control numbers. what do you think is better? introducing a man mad disease like mitsimitosis? (google it) or doing it the way "GOD" intended?

  • very good

  • Nice skills from the harris hawk the ferret and the handler ( not sure if this is the correct term ) I enjoyed the video.

  • FUCK ME IV GOT TO GET ME ONE OF THESE FUCK THE DOGS

  • aaaawweessome

  • Mate you have a fantastic bird there! More hits then misses! I hope someone legalizes this in Australia soon!

  • You should get 2 if your falconer class allows it Harris hawks work better in teams.

  • @Flashlax19 we have flown in a cast of around five birds before now, great fun :)

  • I get why you do it, but why not fair play? Why make it so the rabbit has no chance? Take it to a field where there are rabbits, and see if your bird can do it, why do you have to ensure it by using a ferret?

  • @KingofSpain101 this is a video of the bird working with ferrets and also if you see in the video we walk the land with the birds also. as for "ensuring" we get the rabbits by using ferrets, as you see in the video we didn't use nets and this gives the rabbits a fighting chance as you see when numerous rabbits live to graze another day :p

  • Woah! I didn't know people tamed and trained hawks like that! I love your hawk! :D

  • I saw someone doing this today. It was awesome and not just because we have rabbit problems.

  • cool my friend has one and he doesent have a shed or a cage it just sits in the living room all doy on a parrot stand.hahahaha

  • I thought you couldn't legally have a hawk as a hunting pet?

  • @Toxiclevideos you can in the uk

  • good footage lads

  • That sure looks fun. Now thats predator hunting.

    Keep "Livin' Outdoors"!

  • i have just got female harris hawk i bought it off sum1 that used it for hunting does this mean it will always be in the bird to hunt and kill now as i nar nowt bwt them i have never had a hawk til i got my 2 year old female any advice would be apreciated

  • @MightyCodGod it wont hunt if its not down at hunting weight

  • what is the white thing that come out the hole?? look like a Opossum

  • @TheCarvingman Hi its a ferret :)

  • @willbopdobop doesn't the hawk attacks the ferret?

  • great video :) how old is your bird and how long did it take to train her :)

  • great video :) how od is your bird and how long did it take to train her :)

  • @Hannibalscousin sounds like you have some scary bunnies down your way

  • As much as I love Harris Hawks, I don't know about this interfering stuff, the dude is lucky the rabbit didn't take his hand off putting it in that hole.

It's un natural, and I'm not sure if it sits too well with me.

  • @Hannibalscousin

Pulling a rabbit out of a hole is not unnatural. Pulling a rabbit out of a hat on the other hand....

  • @tartredarrow The assitance, I mean, if it was just the hawk the rabbit would've still been alive. So due to human intervention the Hawk had the rabbit more or less put on a plate for him..do you understand what I'm saying? It wasn't nature just left alone.

  • @Hannibalscousin

People who regard humans as "unnatural" mystify me. Particularly in the sport of hunting.

  • @tartredarrow Well mate I'm mystified that after my last comment you're mystified.

I'm not saying Humans are not natural, I'm saying they tamper with nature a lot.

  • @Hannibalscousin

You missed my point. These men are interacting with nature, not disrupting it. It is a far more perverse thing to drive a car made of alloy and plastic than it is to hunt a rabbit. In case you didn't catch on, the hawk doesn't eat the rabbit. It merely catches it.

  • @Hannibalscousin Thanks for your comment but that wasn't the desired outcome when I pulled the rabbit from the whole it was because I had ferreted the whole and the hawk decided to get in on the action, the reason we are on the land in the first place is to keep the numbers of rabbits down to a comfortable number.

also id like to see the rabbits where you come from if they can take off a human hand lol. but as i say thank you for your comment greatly appreciated.

  • @willbopdobop Oh ok mate, sorry I didn't know it was Rabbit control.

And as many say; nice bird, and very obidient graceful and downright amazing.

With regards to the Rabbits lol, I live in the city. But I do know they have a couple of carrot crunching gnashers at the front - and when cornered who knows how it'd react after all it is an animal.

  • SWEET!!!!
