  • There head stock heavy because of the Grovers some Gibson models have The same problem.

  • amazing.......

  • IF ANYONE WANTS 1966 G400 HIT ME UP

  • I bought one of these a couple months ago and I love the sound. The only thing I'm fighting is that it seems to be very head stock heavy. Does yours feel that way? Got any advice on how to get comfortable with that? It just seems like half the guitars weight is sitting in my left hand and that's really hard to get used to.

  • What strings do you have?

  • hey i play the same head but im lookin for a new cab, how is the 1960 vintage? particularly with a rock/hard rock setting?

  • is this thing good for clean blues sounds or not, i hear is bad on clean.

  • hello this is't your money from your personal guitars ok?by lupotoscano1 from italy

  • hmm i really thought the finish on this was flat not gloss...tbh i really like the flat finishes much better lol

  • сoll =)

  • @aloh13 tengo la misma guitarra del mismo color y te digo que es hermosa y suena muy bien. muy buena terminación.

    Saludos..

  • amazing playing but not the style i was expecting from someone whos playing this gear

  • very nice playing! and awesome amplifiers... xD

i will get one of this guitars in a few days... i cant wait to enjoy it!!!

  • dude awesome playing! keep on rockin

  • bruised watchin your video look at the chair next to you its turnin by it self at 0:12

  • just because the headstock doesnt say gibson doesnt mean its not a good guitar.... I have a 68 gibson les paul custom and a epiphone standard and the epiphone is very good.....

  • @MityMitch epiphone standard is very good itself, but comparing to 68GibsonLesPaul Custom epi it's just a shadow :DDD

  • @grzegorz206 yeaa man its sweet haha very bluesy but thats a give in. Im happy cuz its in wine red with everything nickel. Instead of being gold its all stock i love it! Like u said nothing is like it but the epis are good!

  • LOL

  • cool yuo rock!

  • can u put the 3-Layer Gibson Gothic SG Pickguard on this guitar easy wb and ure awsome :)

  • that would bring down the house.. literally.. lol ;D

  • Nice!! Love ure licks :)

  • nice to hear a player who does'nt have to hide behind masses of drive... nice tone cool licks

  • Nice Job Coop!

  • Put some gain in dude! If I had a Marshall, I was going for the dirty sound!

  • LOL YES!

  • Great job as usual Dave!! Nice G-400!

Looking for you to come back and wail with it and make 'er growl... Thanks for posting up your vids buddy.

  • angus young!!!

  • you look like that puppet dude off heroes

  • wow, nearly my equipment, but i use a TSL 100, its clean sound seems much wormer to me...

  • Gibson is more than a brand name. You won't get the Classic Vintage Rock tone from an Epiphone without putting Gibson pickups in it.

  • they're like 700 bux now i say thts a good deal

  • gibsons just a brand name they arnt that good, so why buy the real thing when u can get it for $655 and its the same but says epiphone on it?

  • No, the Gibson has better wiring, slightly better wood and way better hardware and pickups. You'd be repairing the Epiphone constantly, plus it sounds worse.

  • yeh.... right.... if i wanted a fucking awesome guitar id get an ibanez. and those little things can cost you $3000? why bother.

  • it's 800$ now

  • meh, i got an epiphone les paul standard cherry sunburst

  • how much does it cost?

  • $665

  • you should try some slide out on this babe....see if you can get a derek trucks, duane allman, type sound from it.

  • thats my favorite guitar in the whole world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and what is better epiphone SG or Gibson SG

  • Agreed.

  • It was sarcastic -.-

  • eh not the worst i played a squier and it was like ear rape and thts not just my average playing skills

  • how many guitars do you have??

  • because its made out of wood, most electrics do that

  • so bendy ? you mean it's not straight ? check the truss-rod !

you could have fine set-up of the guitare to make it play even better ;)

  • I love your tunes man, that sounds amazing :D

I have 2 Epiphones, a Les Paul and a Flying V with active pickups, and I think they're good guitars. By the way, I also had an Epiphone Explorer Gothic and was horrible :( . I think I was lucky

  • Was the expolrer gothic horrible?

  • Mine was a bad guitar, but I know people who have good ones

  • i got the same guitar man, amazing for what we paid for it isn't it :D

  • Yes! It's such a great guitar! I went into the store planning on buying a Gibson SG and I came out with this instead cause it felt almost the same for $1600 less. : )

  • i was just wondering if the pickups sound the same as the epi dot.

  • This G400 sounds a bit different from the DOTs even though I think (not 100% sure)it has the same pickups.

  • Hi there, my son wants a vintage g400 in the "worn cherry" finish, a couple of questions if you don't mind? Does it stay in tune okay and is the nose heavy rep of these guitars as bad as they say? He picked one up in a store and tried it, I was quite surprised at how light it is,

  • Yes, all the G-400's are great. As far as I know the vintage is no different from the regular G-400. Yes, it is extremely nose heavy, just get a wide strap and strap locks

  • If you are talking about the vintage 1966 there are several differences in hardware. The 1966 has Grover tuners, and therefore stays in tune better. It also has Alnico classics, which means the maximum output will be slightly lower since it uses less powerful magnets.

In a minor addition, the '66 features a full pickguard, as opposed to the half pickguard seen here.

Overall it's a slight tradeoff, but a worthwhile one for the '66. You can always upgrade your pickups, to get the gibson sound.

  • No, I was talking about the $300 Vintage with the half pickguard and faded finish.

  • i have that guitar, and im starting to see some fret wear issues come up only 4 months after getting it

  • If you want a awesome Sg guitar, check Vintage vs6 and it's cheaper and better than this epi.

    Trust me

  • the űdot has the G400 neck pickups in both positions. when I replaced the pickups of the G400, the bridge label was LP Bridge, and the neck was LP Neck/DOT Bridge and Neck.

BTW, to reply to another comment:

I prefer the G400 to the Vintage VS6. Both need pickup change IMO, but the G400 has better hardware, and is made of 3 pieces of wood instead of 4 like the Vintage. But the Vintage is nice too.

  • @dcooper830

Just because a guitar got the same pick up's doesn't mean to say it going to sound the same, I've got a ESP KH202 with EMG 81's and a ESP KH603 with EMG's 81's and they sound differently, its because of the shape of the guitar and the wood used,

  • @dcooper830 The pickups used in alot of Epi models are the same Alnico V humbuckers. The Les Paul uses them as well as the SG and the Dot. The only reason they'll sound different is the wood used, the thickness of the wood, etc (:

  • 0:45 it´s like mario bross xD

  • Are those the stock pickups?

  • its actually 350-400 dollars in canada : )

  • It's cherry red. And I really like the guitar. It plays like a dream. : )

  • killer tone dude i love the marshalls they are fuking expensive but boy are they worth it.

  • I like your style!

  • do you liuke the 2266 vintage modern?

  • Gleat Tone!!

  • im buying one of those there only 250 bucks!

  • lol it cost almost double as much here in Denmark. that sucks... i also heard that Fenders are cheap in the US... in Denmark we pay approx 2000$ for an american strat.

  • yea its only about 1000$ in the us

  • ha 600 in canada

  • i have that guitar lol

  • hoe much is that guitar there?

I think you are from united states

Here in Argentina is really expensive xD

    good luckk

    kasjkasjakjs :$

  • i have the sg 310 and honestly the only reason i got it other then the 400 is because the 400 just seemed to have such a long neck and just didnt feel as good as the 310

  • Lol, try playing a bass once in a while. You'll see what I mean...

  • The Epiphone g400 SG, for anyone who wants to know, is a very kickass guitar. Mahogany boday and neck with rosewood fingerboard. Pretty kickass!! Even the stock pick-ups are very good.

  • G400 , more sustain, comes with a pickguard, a tone and volume pot for easch pickup, and just better made.

  • are those stock pickups?

  • Yes. Stock pickups. : )

  • fucking right alll tubes, best marshall head, the tsl high gain triple lead, is the best in my opinion, i think its tsl, lol

  • nice! which one is that? vintage or custom or special or standard?

  • Thanks so much! I just watched your Epi 56 Goldtop video where you run through a bunch of AC/DC, Van Halen, Nugent and Pink Floyd. GREAT playing and tone!

  • how did you learn how to play the blues so well?

  • yeah! :)

  • Thank you so much! This guitar is completely STOCK! And I don't plan on ever changing a thing! : )

  • hey dave awesome playing as usual way to showcase the guitar in all 3 positions have you ever played the tony iommi epiphone sg and if you have, how do you think they compare to other epiphone sg let's say the

g-400 you are playing just curious

  • Amazing. Wish i could plsy like that!

  • You still need an Explorer. ;-)

  • hey! this is my guitar! but not my ampli too XD

  • From what I can see, I have the same guitar. What are your views on the G-400 compared to gibson sg's.
