its a very innefective vstol although did provide support during the russian invasion of afganistan,,, i much prefer su-37's and mig 29

@wtf54 Invasion to afghanistan was soviet, not russian. Yak-141 was never used in afghanistan. Yak-38 did accomplish a 30-day test programm in Afghanistan to gather data about the plane usability at special conditions like high temps, low air pressure and dust. Results were much promising for use in mountaineous terrain (no need for long runways).
