  • Awesome video. How long can producers gas be stored in a balloon & remain viable as fuel?

I'll keep checking to see if you're ready to release that high speed gasification unit.

Last question. Have you ever heard of using a rocket stove to make producers gas. Seems hot enough.

  • @mangyscavenger the producer gas can be stored FOREVER or until the balloon pops. it does not spoil, it does not go bad, its a gas, not gasoline. NO.. a rocket stove is about as far away from a producer gas generator as you can get, you do NOT use a rocket stove to make producer gas in any shape or form.

  • hi this was very nice. my question may already have been asked and anserwed,i,m new to this.if i put a empty tank in a chest freezer with a gas source and line connected, will it liquefie and fill up?my house has uninsulated shallow unconnected foundation around laundry room and during winter running the gas dryer sounds the same as turning on the water tap seems to be liqud running thru the line. the gas company said thats normal for exposed line. wouldn,t comfirm liqudifacation though.

  • @robert66michel If your freezer goes down to -313F then it will liquefy. Notice, I said MINUS 313 Fahrenheit. So no... your freezer is not going to freeze carbon monoxide into a liquid. its a gas, its going to stay a gas, it in no way liquefies like propane or butane does.

  • @knowpub would it condense enough to make it worthwile ,more gas less space and pressure?

  • @robert66michel NO... it won't condense to a liquid above -313F AT ALL.. ZERO, ZILCH, NOT one Itty bitty tiny amount. Its not a partial thing, its all or nothing. You can compress it and store it and use it just like you do Natural Gas, there are plenty of natural gas tanks and compressors and regulators and everything else available on the open market.

  • Pardon my ignorance, but how long can the gas be stored? If it is mostly CO, would the pressure not lead to formation of some CO2, which is more stable, and precipitation of solid carbon?

Thank you, and dang impressive flame there!

  • nice gas burner stove! i also got one but i beleive it is just manual no auto-ignite.

Does anyone know how to modify or install an auto-ignite for this kind of gas burner ? Thanks if someone can point me a direction . Take care all!

  • nice work i saw someone use a truck tire tube it as a vale on it and you can stack as many as you want on top of each other thanks for video very nice

  • @man4cannabis Thanks... yes, you can store the gas in an inner tube, it works very well, you can move the wood gas, producer gas, in to the tube with a standard shop air compressor that has a hose on its intake hooked up to the gas, and its output hooked up to the inner tube. -STeve

  • Will this be released soon, the new gasification process?

  • @micro13989 nope...won't be released anytime soon....we are looking at what we can do with the licensing of the technology and the recession slowed things down. It works really well on the scale that we made it, it makes a really nice gas BUT there is NOTHING wrong with ALL of the gasification processes we have EXTENSIVELY documented in our 10 books on the subject. You CAN make ALL the gas you want NOW with our books at USH2 (dot) com then CLICK on the HYDROGEN button. Start with "Volume 3&4"

  • Putting the gas under high pressure, isn't there the danger of some nasty chemical reactions?

  • Pretty cool. Do you have a flashback arrestor somewhere in the "system"? I didn't see any videos on your channel on how you made the wood gas or how you got it into the balloon. I would be interested in the process. Thanks -- TMFA

  • @TheManFromAlaska no flashback arrester because the balloon is ALL FUEL, no air or oxygen in it. Nope on how to make the gas, that is going to be a special video all on its own, it'll be on USH2edu -d-o-t- com when its done.

  • Love this stuff

My home town had manufactured gas up until 1957. Some old gas appliance had a tag or label warning of possible gumming of the controls and may require checks and maintenance.

In fact I recall trips to Chicago where they had a giant iron structure that held a tank that could rise to store gas, not sure if it was Natural, or Manufactured though... this was in the early 60's

    Subscribed & 5*'s

  • The gas mantle light is something that needs to be inverstigated and developed.

In the third world right now lots of people are spedning hard earned money to by kerosene for wick and presure lanterns where if a good function gas generator and modern hollow wire lighting system could be made and peoples lives could be improved!

  • Nice clean gas good job.

I like the idea of a producer gas gas mantle lamp....

I need to try and build one now......

  • that is soooo coooooool ive got to try and do this somehow,to use on my burner

  • Thanks for taking the time to develop and produce what I see as a very cheap source of energy. The results are a good way to keep your hard earned money in your pocket, while supplying your own source of energy.

    Thank You.

  • hahaha i lovvvee harbor freight tools! its heaven for a 17 year old diy fanatic

  • Steve, what you are doing is a great service for your fellow man by teaching & making these things known, God bless you, I am praying for you & your continued success

  • trying to prove? that I can spell balloon and you cannot. You also can't LISTEN either. Must be the language barrier between US and cantada. (not mis-spelled). There is no hyrogen in the balloon, I say that in the video. Plus as a professional chemist you suck, even if your balloon size guess was correct. Yes, I CAN BOIL 1 liter of water, what I can't do is boil it away. You've confused latent and sensible heat. I was trying to demonstrate, not prove, but you proved what you can't do :) LOL!

  • This is really nice.

  • Right now my SUV is running with propane/Gas (not at the same time!!)... Will this reactor pressurize the CO by itself or i will have to buy an additional pressurizer to store it in the propane tank? What size is this reactor??

  • You'll need a 3000psi compressor and high pressure storage tanks.. JUST like you need for natural gas. As for the size of the reactor, its NOT mobile, you don't put it in the vehicle. The reactor is the size of a 55 gallon drum. thanks for writing...Steve

  • So when are we going to see how to build this reactor you are talking about?

When's the book going to be completed?

  • woah dude, i've never even heard of gasification! this has real potential for people who generate their own power.

  • You bet. Gasification has been around a LONG TIME. Widely used from before 1850 to after 1950 in the USA and UK, BUT...BUT..I have put a HUGE improvement on it. Now its much smaller, faster, cheaper and more reliable. Yet all gasification has serioius merit. Thanks for taking time to write. - Steve

  • Couple of questions, if you don't mind.

    1) How long did it take to produce the gas in the weather balloon?

    2) What was the volume of wood pellets used to produce the gas?

  • About 1 minute to produce that amount of gas, and the reactor was on idle... I just did a quick calculation..if the balloon was 3 feet in diameter and the gas was 100% CO..then it would of taken less than 1/2 pound, ...around 250 grams of wood to make that gas. Thanks for taking the time to write ( and to write an intelligent question, unlike the ones I deleted). - Thanks Steve.

  • This is scary stuff, my dad got co poised. They use this stuff to kill animals in shelters all the time. It is odorless and lethal in small amounts. Ether you, or some idiot will kill themselves doing this. But the technology is old as ages, in WWII they ran cars off the stuff, they stopped because its too dangerous.

  • You are correct, CO is dangerous. So is electricity. You got instant death 6" from the floor, and YOU CAN put your finger in there. Gasoline is dangerous too, and you pump it daily. Natural Gas CAN suffocate you as well, but we added odor to it, same with propane. Don't swallow water into your lungs, you'll die. They stopped using this type of gas after wwii because the WAR ENDED, it has nothing to do with CO. Good Comments, but all fears can be addressed easily. Thanks-Steve

  • Intriguing idea, i live off the grid in the boonies, this looks like the next great thing, but the process to get the gas, hmmm, see you @ USH2

  • Excellent work mate.

  • Very interesting Steve. I'm looking forward to the release of the new gasifier. Best wishes.
