HOLY SHIT Y Y DIDNT SOMEONE TELL ME ABT THIS BAND .......... THIS IS WHAT I DREAMED MUSIC COULD ACHEIVE ..... THIS BANDS IS SOOO DAMN ARTSY and I'm finding abt this shit now.
Never before have I heard a group of musicians like these guys, who so fearlessly transcend musical boundaries to create albums that defy categorization release by release, all the while being, quite simply, the most intelligent artistic statements I've ever heard in music, being somehow completely paradoxical: angry but intelligent, aware but not pretentious, emotional but sincere, and overall, beautiful and unspeakably wonderful.
some people just want to go further than you think they would..just let them fly. Let them do what they feel - their music - just let them go! come on! thumbs up for POS!
God... Pain Of Salvation is so great no matter what they do even if its simple melody, but its the way they just put the mood in their songs... its just freaking heartwarming to hear so much talent and emotion in every single song of PoS
pain of salvation is the greatest band in the world and i admire everything about them, but i also dont think you should be so quick to write off all rap. if you think that all rap is the way it is described by PoS, then you are stereotyping and being equally blind as those who shun progression and creativity.

if PoS objective in this album was to make music as good as the lyrics, they did it very well. but now i know i won't buy the next album. people that like to eat poop because it looks creative enjoy this i bet
woah a lot of f bombs. this album is so radically different from other PoS albums, so I'm having a hard time getting into it. i just now started listening to scarsick. but i'm trying
Amazing lyrics and meanings throughout the album, and he uses the music to express them very well. You should all give the whole thing 2 listens just for that, though my favorite is still BE.
The same thing is happening to this band that happened to pink floyd - the band has been over-run by daniel's giant ego to preach his all important, "original messages" and the music has fallen by the way side. It was the same thing roger waters did to pink floyd and why david gilmour left in the first place.
No one gives a sh*t about your f&&cked up bull$hit baggage. Write good music and get off your lyrical "better than you" bs high horse. Get over your BS juvenile hatred for the U.S. - we may not be perfect but we are not as bad as you make us out to be.
Stop beating people over the head with your message, we are not stupid.
This coming from a fan since OHBCL....you've lost me at this point and that sucks since you were my favorite band
Actually, I do happen to like the lyrics on Scarsick very much. And in fact I happen to like the music very much too. That makes a perfect combination for me.
If you do not like his message, then be glad that you do not have to listen to it. Be glad you happen to live in a free country where both you and Daniel have to right to speak your minds. And both of you have the right to disagree with each other...
Btw, do feel personally offended while sitting in your million dollar kitchen...?
I like all of POS's albums, but i think the reason for this new one is maybe to reach out to different people, while keeping their existant fan-base. As a POS fan I am behind all their music %100. I have total faith in their talent and ability to provide us with some of the greatest written and composed music ever. Keep an open mind fans!

Yes, PoS fans don't like this CD. And if you had ever heard Remedy Lane or The Perfect Element Part I, you would see why. Scarsick is absolutely horrible compared to PoS's previous albums. Just listen to "Ashes" and you'll see.
What ? To be honest, when I posted that first comment I was kind of in a Scarsick hater period. Now that's passed, I gave it another chance, and I gotta say it's kind of grown on me. I guess judging a Pain of Salvation based only on what we directly hear is like judging a chocolate by its wrapping. The disco elements, the rapping, the repeated f-bombs all have their place in Scarsick (TPE2:He), it's all part of the story. To truly appreciate this album you have to try to understand it's meaning.
This is my favourite Christmas song.

Ironically, Daniel is one of those whom we (PoS Fans) admire and care about. I think he is very socialistic unlike Al Pacino or Charlie Sheen...

Regardless all the bad comments here, this music is just PERFECT! It is addressed to wealthy, famous and empty-shallow people.
If someone feel particularly offended, then I recommend you to think if this kind of life is the one that you want to live until the end...
