  • hey I did everything what you said and it is not saved as widescreen. It's like square and cropped. what should I do? and I think quality got lowered than the original

  • @370zking First, start out with widescreen source video. If your original source video is standard definition, non wide screen, the above settings will result in lower quality and black bars on the sides of the video.

  • @guerillabill how do I start my original source as widescreen?? like you mean in Pan optiong? set it to 16:9??

  • @370zking You start by using a video camera that records to 16:9 widescreen - at least 720P. Then set the project properties in Sony Vegas to 720-30P.

If your video camera records to 4:3 non wide-screen, you'll have to use the pan & zoom tool to zoom to 16:9 wide. But that still won't improve SD resolution to HD.

  • @guerillabill ok thank you!

  • MY VIDEOS STILL STAY IN 360 P???? HOW COME

  • @ChrisgFBs After you upload your 720P video to YouTube, it will take about 20 minutes before the HD option appears on your video.

  • why i render as avi, and i watch it back on windows media player the video sis very choppy

  • @ZahidSkateboards Windows Media player will stutter if the file is more than a few minutes in length. It has to do with the size of the file, the speed of your computer, and the speed of your hard drive. But in most cases, the stuttering is not in the video, just the way Media Player plays it back.

  • @whosrollo What is the name of the file you are trying to upload? It should end with avi or wmv.

  • @guerillabill it ends with a vf. how do i change it?

  • @whosrollo The .vf file is the project file. You must render the project to build a video file that can be uploaded. Use 'render as' to do this. See the settings in my YouTube video 'Sony Vegas Movie Studio Settings for HD wide screen at YouTube '

  • HEY I MADE A VIDEO WITH IT AND YOTUBE WONT LET ME UPLOAD IT. IT SAYS THAT IT CANT RECOGNIZE THE FORMAT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

  • @whosrollo After you use 'render as' to render the video to either avi or wmv, upload the rendered avi or wmv file to youtube. Don't make the mistake of trying to upload the .vf project file, as it is not a video.

  • I just bought this..Totally lost. is there a school for this software??

  • @Michshnly My '101 Tips & Tricks with Sony Movie Studio' DVD will teach you just about everything you need to know to create great looking videos with Sony Movie Studio. Find it at Amazon or my web site.

  • Hey man

thanks very much for this video helped alot!!!! :)

  • hi i make videos but my video comes with like a black background and im just wondering how to figure this problem out

do i have to put in widescreen or what?

  • @smily179 Set your project properties to match your source video, and render to match the project properties and you won't see the black 'letterbox' bars behind your video.

  • Yes it's in DVD Architect and I want to burn a Blu Ray Disc with menus, I'm able to burn the Blu Ray disc with no menus, but I want to able to burn it with menus.Thanks.

  • Hi Bill, why am I having problems burning blu rays with menus, sonyvegas tells me there is not enough space, is there a reason why? What do I need to do to make it happen? Thanks.

  • @jloza98 Not sure where you see the 'not enough space' message. If it is in DVD Architect, it means the bit rate must be reduced in order to fit the video file onto the DVD disk.

  • I dont have canon HD for youtube x-x wat should i do?

  • @pdeleon102004 For HD, set project properties to 720-P. Render to 720-p.

  • Hey Bill! I have troubles while rendering with my pictures. They are getting cropped each time. Sometimes it fits for the whole screen which is perfect. Does it depend on what pictures the resolution are? I mean do they all need the same resolution? In my preview window it all looks perfect while I haven't crop the pictures. But if I render it things are getting cropped and it is different then I see in my preview window :S Do you know how to fix this? Many thanks in advance mate!!

  • @juggernoud1 Set your project properties before you start the project. Then with each photo on the timeline, click the pan & crop icon on the image on the timeline. On the pan & crop window, right click in the center, choose 'match output aspect'.

This will crop the image to match the video aspect (screen size).

  • @guerillabill Hey Bill!! THANKS A TON for this!! This is a great tip! Right Click and match output aspect! This works perfectly!!! Now I can set project properties to 720-30P and render as 720-30P! I noticed that I couldn't crop the pictures (and I know the crop issue ;) ) now it is perfect! Thanks Bill! Now everything is clear!!

  • Hey can u help me everytime I get to the point where I am about the save the new HD format it says "the custom template you selected is not valid witht he current project settings it has been removed from your template list" do u know how I can fix this?

  • @mintandhenztraininuk Sounds like you don't have Sony Movie Studio Platinum, just the regular version of 8 or 9. You can only render to HD in Movie Studio Platinum or Movie Studio HD, not the version you have. You'll need to upgrade to Movie Studio 10 Platinum to edit and render HD video.

  • when i make a video HD widescreen while saving it becomes like this:

    ( i53.tinypic. com/fo0g9w.jpg )

    lines lines lines

(the video i tried to edit is in vob format, i just tried fix the color and thats all)

is there a way to fix this?

    thanks a lot.

  • @TheMirageScape vob format video is from a DVD. The lines you see are interlace lines. You might be able to resolve this by changing the project properties in Sony Vegas to NTSC DV Widescreen or changing the interlace method in the project properties.

  • @guerillabill thank you so much for help and fast reply..

ill try it thank you so much..

  • Can you add your voice with this program?

  • @mgxcommander Yes, you can add voice-over or narration with Sony Vegas Movie Studio. See how to do it in my YouTube video 'Remove audio track, record voice over, unlock audio tracks in Sony Vegas Movie Studio'

  • How do you change/edit the opacity of the text/closed captioning in this software? like how much you can see of the text on the video?

  • @TrainmanEvan On the text media control, under the property tab, there is a vertical slider for opacity.

  • @guerillabill Where is the text media control at? I'm trying to find it, and i am having no luck.

  • @TrainmanEvan Right click on the top video track, choose 'insert text media', and the text media control appears. See my YouTube video 'Add text titles in Sony Vegas & Movie Studio'

  • PROBLEM!! When I try rendering it it just sais that my movie studio doesn't support more that 800 and 600 framesize!! :( Why is that??

  • @Pearlgirl15 Sony Movie Studio Platinum supports HD rendering, but older version of Movie Studio do not allow HD rendering.

  • @guerillabill aahh maaaan!!! Stupid moviue studio!!! Ok I am sooooo upgrading!! *sigh* Well thanks anyway :)

  • Please respond. can you edit 480p videos from a canon camcorder in this software? thanks.

  • @TrainmanEvan Yes, you can edit 480 p, 720p, 1080p and many other formats with Sony Movie Studio.

  • @guerillabill Cool! thanks.

  • @guerillabill Also, are mpg. files editable? ive got a Canon FS20 Digital camcorder, and i'm hoping i can edit videos from it.

  • @TrainmanEvan Yes, you can edit mpeg and mov video files in Sony Movie Studio.

  • @guerillabill Can you save the videos made in Sony Vegas to the "My Videos" folder, and then put them into Windows DVD maker to make a DVD? without downloading the DVD software, "DVD Architect"?

  • @TrainmanEvan You can save the rendered videos from Sony Vegas to any folder on your computer, in the video format you choose. What you do with them after that is up to you. I use DVD Architect to add menus to and burn my DVDs, but you can use any program you like.

  • Thanks a lot Bill! Was very helpful! :)

  • @alaa2999 You can render widescreen, but it won't improve the quality and won't stretch the video to fit in the wide screen player at YouTube.

  • why 720 and not 1080..i often see this

  • @thatniggbeme7 720p is easier to edit, compatible with more devices, produces a small file size, and requires less computer resources to render. But if you have a powerful computer, and have 1080p source video, then editing and rendering in 1080p also works well.

  • Can you put a custom logo on the video in the corner to identify your videos on youtube with this software?

  • @skyjet111 Yes, you can do that in Sony Vegas. To see how, view my YouTube video 'Adding a watermark or video bug logo in Sony Vegas '

  • @ModemptionFilms The video player at YouTube is 16:9 widescreen. If you edit video that is not widescreen and upload to youtube, it will have the black bars on the sides.

If your source video is widescreen, set your project properties to 720p, edit the video, and render using hdv-720p settings, and the video won't have blackbars at YouTube.

If your video is not widescreen, it will have black bars unless you zoom it to fit widescreen.

  • Brilliant! Thanks for this help video. Just bought the latest HD software and was trying to work out how to simply optimise video for Youtube without files being insanely huge.

  • @PrototypeAndroid The Hauppage HD PVR records to a highly compressed video format, not really suitable for video editing. I've been told that the files are not compatible with Vegas Movie Studio.

  • i have Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 but it said i´t can be only save in 800 x 600 .. is it possible to change this with something ? I really don´t want to by a new one .. NEED HELP =(

  • @spongbobschnegge Only Movie Studio Platinum and Movie Studio HD can save in HD wide formats.

If you want to save to those formats, you'll have to upgrade to the Platinum version.

  • @guerillabill okay thanks for the information =D

  • thanks, fast and easy to follow

  • my vegas only saves a 800 (width) by 600 (height)

  • @SeiyukiYanoka1 Vegas Movie Studio Platinum and Vegas Movie Studio HD can edit and save HD video. Older versions of Vegas Movie Studio are not HD capable.

  • you know this isnt working.

how do i get so that its completely widescreen and not just a square?

  • @SeiyukiYanoka1 either start out with wide screen source video, or use zoom to convert your square video to widescreen. See how to do this in my YouTube video 'Convert video to wide format for YouTube - Sony Movie Studio'

  • Why isn't my video syncing up with the audio? the video is about a second faster than the sound. how do I fix it?

  • @Scopitone7 Video sync problems are almost alway related to mov/mp4 videos, and are either due to the recording device, or the cpu requirements of the mov/mp4 codec.

Uninstalling quicktime, and then installing quicktime 7.06 generally produces better results. If you don't want to do that, a faster computer with more RAM will also help.

To check to see if the sync problem is in the video, render a short segment of it, then view in windows media player

  • i need help when i make my video in wide screen, the pixels of my video looks bad

  • @TheSweetymahy If your video wasn't shot in widescreen HD, and you use the above settings the pixels will be stretched. For best results, shoot your video in at least 720P mode.

  • @TheSweetymahy i actually shoot my video in 720 p but it's not good even it is in HD and what do you mean my video shot in widescreen ? :) oh can i ask another thing when i apply a color for my video; it moves slowly do you kno how can i fix it :) waiting for your answer.

  • @TheSweetymahy If you shoot in 720p, set the project properties to 720p. And after editing, render to wmv, 720p.

Editing HD video requires a fast computer, lots of RAM, and plenty of free hard drive space. Lack of CPU power, low RAM, or using mov/mp4 videos will greatly slow editing and rendering and previews.

  • help please bill i did widescreen settings on my video but it seems that when i put my video on youtube it still shows the 4:3 ratio. help me please

  • @ZiPpYMontages1 If your video is standard definition normal width, using the wide screen settings won't make the video widescreen. To do that, see my YouTube video 'Convert video to wide format for YouTube - Sony Movie Studio '

  • Thanks for this, helped a lot

  • i used final cut pro 7 and i done a lot of things with final cut pro but do u think this program (Sony Vegas Movie Studio hd 9) will gave me the creative freedom as in final cut pro

  • @okami1101 Sony Vegas was designed by some of the same designers who developer final cut pro. So the layout might seem familiar to you. But Final Cut Pro does have more features than Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9.

If considering Vegas Movie Studio, get Movie Studio Platinum 10. Available for under $60 at Amazon.

  • @guerillabill Is this the platinum edition because i wanna get SV Movie studio Hd for my HD PVR and wanna make sure i can render the video file in hd without the platinum edition

  • @xTr4774 If you want to edit HD video, get Movie Studio 10 Platinum from Amazon. Currently under $60.

  • hey bill! thanks for the info.. i was wondering.. if i increase my fps instead of 29 to 50+ will it cause any problems? because my previous video seem to have a slight laggish look when the camera turn around

  • @LiquidGraphlx It shouldn't cause problems as long as you set the project properties correctly, and have a fast enough computer and enough RAM to edit video.

  • Thanks Bill. you rock

  • It was a .MOV file that I put in movie studio and then added music with some text, but what I did was I added a video effect that speeded up the video. Could that be the reason why? Because I have no clue about divx or xvid.

  • @PivotFF There are about 20 different varieties of .mov files, with different video devices recording in different mov formats. Many are highly compressed, and don't have enough data left to apply effects to.

The problem is due to the way your video device records and saves in the mov format.

Set your project properties to 720p, then render to 720p - this might speed up the rendering.

  • I did this, and it's taking me more than 30 minutes and (10 minutes remaining) to do a 1 minute and 30 seconds vid. It also renders it once and then goes back and starts again. Am I doing anything wrong?

  • @PivotFF Sounds like you might have started with either highly compressed divx or xvid source video, which is so compressed it can't be re-rendered into any format.

Try using higher quality source video. Or try rendering to 720p wmv.

  • Tried this with sony vegas 10 and my canon 7d video and the videos did not look that good. Any ideas thanks.

  • @brandy1000sissy Since the canon records H.264 in a mov wrapper, you might want to use Cineform Neoscene to convert the video to avi before editing. This will give much better results.

  • i am the 340 person to like this video cool this is a ver good video it helped alot thank you

  • Bill Myers is awesome! Thanks for showing all these tips! It's helped me out tremendously!!

  • I know this may not go along with the video (though it was helpful) I've had a problem with vegas when ever I open a video file the audio is there but the video won't even show up and I don't know how to fix it.

  • @XShatteredWishX The problem is related to mp4 and mov codecs recently changed via the itunes store. For Vegas Pro, download the free 9.0e update. For Sony Movie Studio, find and apply the patch as shown in my YouTube video 'Fix mp4 audio problems in Sony Vegas Movie Studio '

  • thanks very much, i was having alot of trouble with rendering in hd

  • Recently when rendering using these settings the rendering stops at random positions. Sometimes after 20%, sometimes over 50% on the same file. I get the following:

An error occurred while creating the media file boat ride.wmv. The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications.

I have 8 gb memory and the settings have worked fine before. Im using SV Movie Studio HD Platinum 10. Any ideas?

  • @BengalsOfRidanos There are 3 likely reasons for that error.

    1. You are using .mov or mp4 files. These use a great deal of system resources during editing and render. If you use cineform neo scene to convert them before bringing them into Movie Studio, you won't get the problem.

    2. You have set the project properties to 1080p, when the source video is 720p.

    3. You have many large image files in the project.

  • @guerillabill Thanks for you prompt reply!

I'm using mts files from a panasonic lumix dmc-tz10 which records 720p HD video. Project properties = Custom (1280x720; 59,940 fps). No image files.

  • @BengalsOfRidanos the fps should be 30, not 59.

  • @guerillabill

I Changed it to HDV 720-30p (1280x720; 29,970 fps) and got the same error message about halfway thorough.

  • @BengalsOfRidanos Download the trial version of cineform neo scene, use it to convert your video file to avi, replace the files in your project with the converted ones, and try to render again.

That should solve the problem. Find a video showing how to do this and why it is necessary on my web site.

  • @guerillabill Problem solved! I have been having trouble with some other programs. I tried to start filezilla and got an error message. So I did a system restore back to 12 th October and now it runs fine!

    Should I disable windows update?

  • Nice work. Can you PLEASE tell me why is it that this software cannot burn a DVD for me?? It says: this pgm is NOT supported by this system. OR it says: Error. I hope u can help me, Bill.

  • @conewells Are you sure you have a DVD player in your computer? Some confuse CD player with DVD player. To burn a DVD, use DVD Architect which is included with Sony Movie Studio. Import the rendered video into DVD Architect, create menus if desired, click 'make DVD'.

  • @guerillabill Yes, I have an internal DVD player, (and it works) but it's the one in Sony that isn't functioning for me.

  • Hey I have a quick question,

I see for Sony Vegas you are using "Bit Rate VBR (peak)" for the video tab. I have been using CBR and at about 10 M as the constant bit rate for my video. It comes out crystal clear with the HD video (I used a JVC HD Everio) but it looks quite blurry on youtube. Could it be in the difference in the settings I have set differently?

I am using Sony Vegas Pro 8.

    Thanks,

    Joshua

  • @bmoc0129 After you upload HD video to YouTube, it will take YouTube about 20 minutes to show the hd version of the video. In the meantime, only a low resolution video will be shown.

  • @guerillabill Got Ya! Thanks, I guess with as many videos as I have done I have not yet learned how to be patient. Guess I should let YouTube process the videos completely then!

    :)

  • Are avi files allowed?

  • @FlameBacker405 Yes, avi video files work quite well in Sony Vegas. But be aware that some files that have the avi extension are not really avi files, but are divx or xvid files in avi wrappers. These files are usually too compressed to apply effects to.

  • ~Okay i will try it on sony vegas 9 when i logg on proper computer and let you know how i get on thanks alot(:

  • Oh dear. i downloaded the trial of sony vegas 9 pro+it still didnt go widescreen, does the trial of it not have widescreen then?

  • @TheHGProductions To get widescreen, set your project properties to 720p, and render to 720p.

If the source video is not widescreen, use Pan & crop to make it widescreen as shown in my YouTube video 'Convert video to wide format for YouTube - Sony Movie Studio '

  • Thankyou, but do you know how i can do it on sony vegas 9? or cant you do it on that?

  • @TheHGProductions Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 and Vegas Pro handle HD widescreen. The basic version of Vegas Movie Studio 9 does not handle HD widescreen resolutions.

  • Hey i have sony vegas 9 how do i make my video widescreen?

  • @TheHGProductions If you have Vegas 9 Pro or Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum, you can do as shown in the video above. If you have Vegas Movie Studio 9 but not the Platinum version, you won't be able to do HD widescreen.

  • Thank you so much!

  • thanks, man! tried like 3 other vids on this process, they weren't any good.

  • ok fiar enough, but everytime i try with the excact same setting or any other settings im finding, if my video comes out hd reli good then my audio lags, if my audio comes out great my video comes out laggy?! i really need some help i been trying to sort it out for 3 days

  • @MrrRyo94 Lagging audio or video should only be in the preview window, and not the final rendered video. If the audio lags when viewing the video in an external player, it could be that your computer doesn't have fast enough CPU to keep the audio/video in sync when playing. This can happen with Windows Media Player and larger files.

  • @guerillabill ok so if i uploaded it with the laggy audio to youtube would it come out ok? and thankyou

  • @MrrRyo94 The only way to find out is to upload to youtube and see what happens.

Laggy audio is not a known problem with Sony Movie Studio, unless the source video clip is highly compressed and already has audio sync issues

  • @MrrRyo94 ok thansk man for you help il give it a go!

  • really useful!

  • Since your custom rendering theres no upload to the web then to youtube so after it renders where does it save to then where do I go to upload it to youtube i tryed going it and it said not proper file

  • @TheRTproductions When you use 'render as', you choose where the file is saved.

Remember that location, and upload the rendered wmv file, and not the .vf project file.

  • Just HOW do you STRETCH the timeline so you can EDIT the images???????

  • @conewells Click the + sign in the far right corner of the timeline to expand the timeline.

  • I have Vegas Movie Studio 9.0, and when I go to make a custom template it tells me that "Vegas Movie Studio does not support frame sizes greater than 800 by 600." Is this something that I can fix or change, or is it simply a limitation of the program that I can't get around?

  • @MrChaos67 Only the platinum and HD versions of Movie Studio can render HD video formats. You'll want to upgrade to Sony Movie Studio Platinum HD 10

  • my vegas movie studio doesnt have a youtube option please help?

  • @sulman1519 The YouTube setting is not a standard option. I created it and saved as shown in the video starting at 1:05 in.

  • Hi, i use the Vegas Pro 9.0 and when i click RENDER it appears "An error ocurred while creating the media file (File Name here). The template's peak bitrate is less than the average bitrate" Please, can you help me?

  • @Edmelvinster If you are rendering to mp2, make sure that on the custom render settings in the video tab, the bit rates haven't been modified in a way that the peak bitrate is less than the average bitrate.

  • @guerillabill How will i know? I modified it into 4.50 M and 5 M, however it appears that it is 450M and 900M

  • @Edmelvinster If you are rendering to mp2, and don't understand bit-rates, then use the default settings, don't modify them.

If you do understand bit-rates, use a mpeg2 bit rate calculator to find the best bit rates for the project, and enter those settings. I've got an article and video about this on my web site.

  • Thank you ! really helpful

  • When i try to render my video now the sony vegas just lags and it stays on 0 percent for like 10 hours. I already reduced the definition but it does the same all the time. What shall I do?

  • @stawy22 Make sure you have plenty of free space on your hard drive. Make sure you are not trying to render divx or xvid video to avi.

  • i have a question if you have sony vegas but it's the normal kind not pro and it only goes up to 800 can you still find a way to make it fullscreen?

  • @AngelHeartSakuraO2 Older versions of SOny Movie Studio can't render HD widescreen video. You can render to 640 X360 which will produce widescreen at YouTube

  • THIS WORKED! It was WIDESCREEN AND HD! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  • Very helpful. Thank's :)

  • I have a problem. I followed all your directions and tried to render a three minute and fifteen second video. When I did that an error message popped up and said that the system is low on memory. I got a quad core computer with 8 gigs of ram, and it's almost brand new. I'm not sure what's wrong. Do you know how I can fix it?

  • @Diamonddraw89 8 Gig of Ram should have no problem rendering hours of video - unless you have other programs open that are hogging memory.

I assume you are running Windows 7 64 bit, as that would be required for 8 gigs of Ram to be recognized.

  • @guerillabill Yeah that's what I have. The odd thing is that the same program rendered fine on a Vista-based laptop. So I'm not sure what is up. Do you think it could be internet explorer that takes up space? That's the only thing I can think of.

  • @Diamonddraw89 It wouldn't be internet explorer. It could be photoshop, or scanner software, or other programs that hold large segments of memory.

    Try rebooting, and render again.

  • @guerillabill So I tried that. Another message popped up and said "An error occurred while creating the media file. The windows media file is invalid in the current state".

  • @Diamonddraw89 Run a virus scan. Seems to be many unusual problems, and that is the sign of a virus.

  • I really need some help, i crop my video so it fills the 16:9 screen on the preview, and its fine after its processed on youtube, but on my channel, it as bars on the sides, and if i make the windows media player window small, im really confused :S

  • Oh also one more question please...the part where it asks.."stretch video to fill output frame" or "render loop region only" like on the first page you see when you click render...which boxes do I check off? Thanks :) I want my videos to fill the entire screen..:)

  • @TradeOurDreamsForHis Don't check either of those boxes.

  • Thanks so much...but do I save it under "Best" rendering quality, cause I saw you kept yours at "Good" ..thanks so much for the help :D

  • @TradeOurDreamsForHis For YouTube, Good will produce excellent results. For broadcast TV, choose Best

  • Help me out please it says "The custom template is not valid with the current project settings. It has been removed from the template list"

  • @pred123424 Rendering HD video is only available is Movie Studio Platinum 9, Movie Studio HD, Movie Studio Platinum 10, or Vegas Pro. Not in the basic version of Movie Studio 8 or 9.

  • can u help please my video is really pixly

  • @JM3DIA Pixelated video can be caused by poor source video, video that isn't full screen but stretched to fit the render settings. Usually a result of video from video games, photo cameras, analog video capture devices, or video downloaded from the web

  • I think i get now thx, if you ever need any construction advice that"s my thing, till next time

  • I HOPE I'M NOT BEING AQ BUG-A-BOO but when i up load a 9:00 min game video that was rec. in m2ts for it looks great but my rendered video

  • @mannsinnx Usually the problem with game videos is the software or device used to record it. In many cases, it does not record full frame rate or full frame size. Or it compresses with divx or xvid. In either case, the result won't look so good when edited and uploaded to youtube

  • question i uploaded a vid looks great but the sec. vid same settings not looking as good any reason why

  • @mannsinnx Quality problems are almost always related to the size, frame rate, and compression used on the original source video

  • Thank you so much! I couldn't get my videos to upload cause there would always be an error, but now there's no error! Thanks!

  • How can it be that when I press the save button for the template, it changes the average bitrate settings from 4.5 M to 45 and the peak bitrate setting from 5 M to 90 M?

  • I live in the UK so for frame rate do i use PAL?

  • @BeastOrFail12 For Pal and YouTube, use the original frame rate of the source video

  • Thanks Bill very helpful, I just bought Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10 Suite and cant wait to get going with my GoPro videos.

  • im using sony vegas pro platinum 9.0 rendering in 1080p on YouTube HD template. works good for me :D

  • hey since this is sony vegas hd do you need an hd camera or any kind of camera.

  • @jose9819 If you want to render the video as HD widescreen, you'll want to start with widescreen HD video. Or see my other YouTube video showing how to convert normal width video to widescreen video.

To answer your question, you can use any kind of video in Sony Movie Studio.
