  • I'm glad I got the chance to experience this when I was younger but now I hate that I'm getting older now

  • Awsome Idents

  • Pre 93?! I was born in 92!

    I like anything from 98 to 04.

  • I'm sorry to burst everyone's bubble but this era of CITV was well after the decline in quality. Pre 1993 is the best era of CITV.

  • In my opinion, it was around 2001-02 when CITV started declining.

  • My reasoning for 1993 is for two reasons. Firstly they ditched in vision presenters that year and to top tit off, started introducing a plethora of extremely babyish programmes: Wizadora, Tots' TV, Rosie and Jim, Alphabet Castle (to name a few). As a 7 year old in 1993, that really annoyed me.

  • I see where you're coming from; it depends on age really as I was about 1 or 2 when Steve Ryde took over. At the moment, I think CBBC programmes have declined but many younger viewers would consider them good; it's merely because they can't compare to what I used to watch.

As for CITV now though, it's just plain shit.

  • 1998-2004 is the best era of CiTV.

  • @BCJ1985

Whenever they changed to the CITV Channel the quality just nose dived.

  • I'll have to agree with everyone here, CITV was much better then with plenty of imagination put into their work - compared to the rest of the ITV Network. ITV should emply them to spice up the ITV brand. It was around at a time we took it for granted. Sad but true.

  • I found it pretty ironic that Michael Grade stated that ITV1 is a "family channel". Well if it's a "family channel" then why scrap CITV and abandon children's programming altogether? Shoestring budget or not

  • this was before citv was budget

  • We agree. Seems to be the trend though these days.

    Thanks for your comment!

  • To be budget, you have to be spending money on it. They're clearly not spending anything on CITV anymore.

  • Oh I remember those! Looks tons better than what CITV have now (or even the programmes gone downhill)

  • Hi GazaTC

Thanks for your comments. Like you we feel it is a shame what has happened to Children's TV, particularly with ITV's lack of vision or imagination for such an important audience.

  • The old CITV was much better than it is now. Bring back the old CITV.

  • Too bad some of the good shows like Harry hills Shark invested Custard rwas replaced by bad ones

  • Thanks for your comment.

Interesting. Yes, I'd agree. Had some fun doing that ident.

    Chris.
