Its more of an all round amp--It takes on most anything. One thing is was specialized to do is the eddie van halen brown sound on the 20 watt setting on the mercury channel. It does get pretty high gainy if you want, but I dunno too much about metal so maybe you want to stick a pedal in it-itd ruin the sound though, this amp is so amazing when its untouched by pedals!

Yes, The best built-n delay on any amp I've played. pretty organic and usable. Reverb is okay, not as good as delay though.
