what probably happened is a recycling truck hauling bottles crashed and spilled into a stream.

so the media neglects to mention it and makes it look like there is so much trash in the environment it is damming up rivers.

the evidence is in the video. there is no paper, cardboard, styrofoam, plastic bags, food containers or any other trash floating with the plastic bottles.

Maybe, because recycling hasn't been tackled strong enough, the recycling agency had no place to sell them to be recycled and so dumped it in the river. That's a more plausible explanation than a random crash dumping the plastic bottles into the river.
