  • the audio track is not in line with video. she's not lip synching - but if she was lip synching, I'm sure she would have enough rhythm and timing to pull if off succeccfully. But anyway, this is a great video and it's nice to see her first TV appearence.

  • I feel sorry for the MC.....Mr. "Little Dickens!"

  • "lip singing" lmao! well susieandziggy, the sound track may be off a tic, but during those days everything was live. and they probably did'nt have electronic systems to conjure up those type of performances. but patsy did'nt need to lip sync, she had such a pure voice. and there would have probably been scratches in the record, let alone noise from the needle riding in the groove to give away anyone lip syncing.

  • We are so lucky to have any pictures of this diva of country music, before diva's were born. What a tragedy that her life ended tragically and suddenly like it did, but she was beautiful and talented and no one has approached her popularity. For Gods sake, her number Crazy written by another legend, Willie Nelson still plays every day at the bar.

  • Too bad they couldn't bottle all that energy Lil' Jimmy Dickens had! What a fireball! He may not be very tall...but he's a GIANT when it comes to talent & longevity! How lovely to see the lovely and talented late great Patsy early in her career! MANY thanx for posting this cool clip! You've MADE my day & my week! CHEERS, mate! :-)

  • Whatyear was this? 1951???

  • Why can't I find me a Wife that sings like this too???

    I Love That Patsy Cline!

  • I love patsy cline !! L O V E !!!!

  • Her voice and the video are not synced. I do not know enough about the technology of this time. It may have matched when broadcast live but been stored on different media. The guitarist sounds like Hank Garland one of the greatest guitar players of his time. listen to the parts in the background. He did a lot of TV work. It is defintly not classic country guitar.Much more like Jango Rheinhardt for those who follow guitar.

  • great!!! thanks for sharing

  • She's a legend. This is the first time that I've seen a video of the young Little Jimmy Dickens. It looks like he was blown away by her talent and charisma.

  • She is lip singing, but still great!

  • @siouxsieandziggy Lip singing? It's called "lip syncing" genius. And NO, she is NOT lip syncing.

  • @Looking4Patsy true, the "sync" is off in the video, that's the confusion - the woman is brilliant, great clip!

  • @Looking4Patsy LOLOL

  • @Looking4Patsy the official term is actually "lip synchronizing"

  • @billboardnumber1 nobody says that. "lip-sync'ing" is the standard phrase.

  • Comment removed

  • @siouxsieandziggy yeah i noticed that

  • @siouxsieandziggy You may get the impression she's lip-syncing because the audio track is not alligned with the video. That might have happened in the media-transfer process or a wrong codec.

  • @siouxsieandziggy CHRIST ARE YOU REALLY THAT STUPID,WHAT A DULL ASS POST

  • @cptconfuser - now now smile on your brother everybody get together and try to love one another right now

  • @siouxsieandziggy it 'seems' like lip-syncing because back then it was common for the audio/video to not be perfectly matched. you can see evidence of this in the very beginning of the video while theyre talking even. she's not lip-syncing =]

  • @siouxsieandziggy She not lip s the sound is just way off or all are lip s talking.

  • @siouxsieandziggy ....she never lip-synched,,,,,

  • @siouxsieandziggy ...........long time ago the audio and video were recorded separately and often they were not played in sync. it is the case with this. this was live. I am that old. I remember.

  • Keep em coming my friend*yesterday opens so many memorys of the*greats*please subscribe to my channel and add as a friend*

    TCB

    Tony Thanks*

  • not sure, but i think that was my daddy, Cowboy List on steel guitar...he played on a lot of those old live tv shows ( sounds like his work )...--uncredited, of course, but he did get paid...a little.

Poor Patsy...she, Hawkshaw Hawkins, and Cowboy Copas...all died on my daddy's ( and mine ) birthday in 1963. what a terrible time that was...my family was so saddened by such a tragedy...as was everybody else who knew these folks and loved them.

  • This video was too cool. We just got back from Nashville. This weekend we saw Little Jimmy Dickens at the Grand Ole Opry and then Patsy Cline at the Ryman Auditorium, on the stage that made her famous! It was awesome!

  • I don't know what is wrong here, but her mouth movements DO NOT match the audio?????????

  • how is this real...I can barely hear it

  • It's lip-synch right?

  • out of sync audio and video

although annoying, something very much to be tolerated.

some supper geek should be able to rectify.

This video is an incredible gem.

  • the introduction of a fantastic voice that forever put a ripple on the face of music. RIP Patsy.

  • lol so awkward singing to the dude

  • What year was this from? Nice performance Patsy! :)

  • @dsim200000 , pretty sure 1956.

  • @nalatrebo Oh nice :D

  • Wow!!! This is an AWESOME early video of the great patsy Cline. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes, thanks for adding this music video which is GR8 nostalgic history of a world-renowned artist taken from our midst too soon. For more INFO, her BIO, to leave a virtual memorial online, etc. see FindAgrave/com <<click Famous person search & enter any name.

  • Thanks for sharing this video...Virgina Patterson Hensley aka Patsy Cline is one of my favorite singers....Her voice was absolutely beautiful she is truely missed

  • LOL - and does Jimmy always shout at everybody? It would be tough on the ears talking to him in an elevator :-)

  • Such a good live performer. Faultless every time and just as good as a studio performance. That's what being a professional means. That's what talent gets yer. Queen of country, Patsy Cline.

  • Wow, amazing video... Ernest Tubb & Patsy Cline on screen together? Country Frikkin Gold!

  • What TV show is this from?

  • The tracking is off with the Audio/Video but its still good to see her!

  • This song will always be a personal favourite of mine, i loved Patsy Clines Cowgirl outfits her mother made them so beautiful absolutely incredible detail. Her honesty and innocence abounds in this video, Pure Voice, Pure Heart,

    Pure Soul !

It doesn't get any better then that she had it all !

All The Stars Are Hers *****

  • Она лучшая! Она необыкновенная!

  • So what year was this then?

  • all country and western dresses were fringed. cow girls and boys indians etc,

  • I would like 2 invite ya all 2 come hear me sing...I'm no Patsy, but I love her, and I try 2 give her respect....

I love all OLD country and I sing it...please come take a listen and let me know if ya like any of it.

    Thanks, ya all.

  • is it just me or is the lips off from the music?

  • ya the sound doesn't match the video I think its a problem with youtube

  • audio isn't synched right

  • @madhoneydew probably cuz the footage is so old. I know a friend has a tape made on vhs, which worked well when there was vcr's with "tracking"....well, u can guess, they're rare these days...so, though the tape was able 2 be transposed...the sync will never be right, I'm afraid.

  • patsy shut the dickens outta little jimmy! he was RUDE and cut her off....bet he felt like an ass.

  • yeah, I read somewhere about the constant ''this purdy little miss'' introductions to all female country singers back then - with no real regard to their talent. This guy adds to the insult by cutting her off after he just asked her a question himself. You can see the disapproval in her eyes right then, I think

  • @MrThomasdrewsen yep, but as fans...we can ALWAYS be glad that she didn't let his actions deter her from her dream!! Long live Patsy and thank God He didn't let her quit!

    God bless!

  • Poor Patsy looks like stage frightened, but sings beautifully like on later footages.

  • Patsy Cline is the best singer of all time ,she can not be beat or matched.

  • I never understood why they thought fringes were western? There's no practical purpose. But.... what a sweet, timeless vice

  • THEY'RE COWGIRL OUT FITS.

  • Rest in peace, Patsy.

  • was This BEFORE Her First Appearance on "Talent Scouts" ???

  • Yes

  • No it wasn't, and I happen to know something about the matter....

  • P.S. keep looking for Patsy... her original debut was walking after midnight... but I don't know, just know her family

  • P.S. keep looking for Patsy... her original debut was walking after midnight... but I don't know, just know her family

  • Goose bumps in Oxnard.

  • I love seeing Patsy before she was the legend that she became, with her cowgirl outfits, and her speaking voice was different here too, she looked so young, this is a great piece of musical history
