  • Vee 12?

  • Jewelery work!!!!!

  • I wouldn't get my hands near that prop... I bet that thing makes better than 50 HP at speed. Having been into the real thing... I can say that the difficulty in creating that motor is unreal. Amazing job and fantastic to hear it run.

  • Two speed prop?

  • Dumpert!

  • Ghost in the window?!

  • @RoboVT102 I see it!!!

  • You could have a mini ww2 with enough of those.

  • @driftability you could END a mini ww2 with enough of those! LOL

  • is it a variable pitch propeller?

  • i love the gurgles and slurps the engine has, sounds great

  • I never see somthing so beautiful and complex like this,a kompliments is not even close to what I like to say...words are not enough ....amazing!! Do you make the aloy casting also yourself? Some parts are make from solid, but the most stuff is almost impossibel to do. You make a real masterpeace...a smal mirror of the "big masterpeace" (and it sounds like a 1000 wild horses!)

    Kind regards ,Peter

  • Just outstanding ! It runs as perfect as it looks like, by far more smooth and consistent than any factory RC model engine ever could. A masterpiece of engineering.

  • that is a true work of art

  • Fantastic ! past impressive

  • nice

  • wow

  • Oh yes, non-believers.... It's real. The builder obviously focused on design & an impeccably high production standard rather than video exploitation and commercial greed; Besides... Who wants to idle when you've got the ceiling of a Merlin?

  • @cliffyyffilc cool

  • @cliffyyffilc way cool

  • Has a scale Merlin engine ever been put into an RC airplane? I have searched the internet and can’t find any. :-( There are a lot of beautiful Merlin models, and beautiful airplane models, but never the two combined!

  • I'll take one then I just need a nice mustang... hehe

  • Dammit! I wanted to hear that thing idle!

  • Old vid but what are the odds of this going into production for scale models? If not it should be.

  • It would go nice with a mustang i could never build one of these though.

  • SUPER LIKE

  • Excuse my dumb ignorance, but this is - surely - a MODEL of an engine that's powered by an electric motor?

  • @Poopingbotham No, it is a small scale repro internal combustion engine. Notice the smoke that comes out when it first catches and starts.

  • finally none of that little 2 stroke shit under a plastic cover! a ligitimate running scale merlin!!

  • @Bamchucknorris yeah provided it can run for more than 20 seconds, it couldnt even hold an idle!

  • @tisoy909 hey man, its probably not broken it. but imagine, a legit merlin to 1/5 scale fully functional, that is priceless

  • @tisoy909 it probably can hold an idle, he might have just cut ignition at as soon as it decelerated

  • It sounds like a Rotax! :P

  • its a shame they dont put that in a spit fire or a p51 mustang but it still is a great model

  • got some F1 like tendencies in the exhaust note :p

  • 2 of them in a rc mozzi!!! or 4 in a lanc!!

  • @DavstrWrexham u wanna make a porn, right?.... that would be so bad ass....

  • That is bad ass !

  • Jesus christ on his website he says it has a 11.31 cu displacement.. Which makes it about 185cc's of power!!!!! This thing should be put in a model plane. It would be monstrously fast!!!

  • Fine work, nice look, great sound.

Thank you for posting - 5 Stars.

  • i'ed love to see that in an rc plane

  • i think you should be required by law to put that into a 1/5 scale P51 lol

  • @Rattacool Screw P51 - straight into a Spit for sure!

  • What plane is it going in to?

  • I would really like to see a ME-109 engine at this scale.

  • Very nice! Nice job! When is it going into a P-51?

  • He has now surpassed this with a sleeve valve 16 cylinder rolls engine

  • The machining on this engine is hard to believe. There is 1/5 scale ME 109 engine also.

    They are both VERY cool!

  • a DB605 in scale 1/5 ??? please show me :)

  • @PaddyPatrone

I've seen pictures, but I don't know if it's runnable.

  • hey all, watch the Link on the Videoinfo, all Parts CNC made i think ;)

  • wow you really have no idea what engiens sound like then do you

  • hmm-- now i can hear it - my bad --its the real mccoy V12 - very nice

  • 500 dollars

  • @pudd750 it sure doesn't sound like a single cylinder my friend :P

  • very sharp of you -you might have read the comments where i saw the error of my ways too but then youre pretty sharp for such investigation

  • woops sry, mate :P

  • The finest job I ever seen

  • is that DOHC?

thought the real Merlin is OHC

    right?

  • please PLEASE let me know if you ever sell these engines!!! I would like to buy one of these for my Comp ARF P-51

    Thanks!

  • @TatTude379 May be you should contact this guys at authenticscale com It seems they want to offer soon serious models engines for scale or near scale

  • Needs to be in a rc model would be awesome

  • beautiful :)

  • I Want to get one so i can put it on my Canoe See wat happens

  • Excellent,I want to build one!.Now how about a variable pitch prop/.

  • barry hares is the master of the minature engine

  • @127069 google barry hares rolls royce eagle II that makes this seem simple!!

  • Now you must build a 1/5 Mustang

  • id rather a spitfire but hey a mustang would do good aswell

  • ...or build three more and mount them on a mighty Lancaster... ;-)

  • that would be and sound awsome!

  • Wheres the P-51?

  • You mean the spitfire, since the RR merlin wasnt in the standard mustang.

  • heh didnt specify which stang either ;)

  • That is abosolutely stunning! What does it weigh?

  • Brilliant - and the shape of the support just gives me an idea...

...this engine needs to be mated with an 1:5 super scale Spitfire airframe. Just imagine that!

  • @Tomskyair

lol aye, and just imagine if it crashed, all that hard work and effort gone in a few seconds of dispair. if i had built that model engine, you'd never get me risking it in a RC plane

  • @Tomskyair nahhhh....1:5 mustang

  • @Soundrexor Spitfire first, then Mustang. Just like the real ones.

  • @Tomskyair a mustang as well

  • @Tomskyair . Yeah for sure. Has anyone done it yet? That is just about the holy grail of rc planes.

  • @Tomskyair

Sorry, but it must be a Hawker Hurricane!

  • what a hero, i want to make a kart out of it !!!

  • This is amazing...
